It’s Saturday morning and we eat another breakfast in the lounge. Then we head over to Epcot. We want to try Test Track. We grab a fast pass and head over to do Wonders of Life. Afterwards we do Test Track and the kids love it. I was just glad we did it before lunch. We head over to Le Cellier for lunch. This is one PS that we actually keep. This was our first time eating at this restaurant and we really liked it. The service was great and I just love the atmosphere. The food was very good too. We got some steak sandwiches and these things are huge. We head back for our afternoon naps. That night for dinner we had a PS at ‘Ohana’s but we decided to cancel because the thought of eating more meat did not sound appealing. We ate in the lounge and it was great again. Chef Dick had a chicken Caesar salad and it was very yummy. We just hung out because there was a pretty heavy storm outside. I like to be out in the rain, but we just don’t do it if there is lightning. We head over to the Contemporary to check it out. I like this resort and would think about staying there if they would get a new zero-entry pool! It was nice to chill out a little bit.
We had to get up early because we had an 8:05 PS at CRT. I was a little disappointed in the food this time. My DH got the yogurt bowl and he really liked it. This was our 3rd breakfast and it was ok this time. The atmosphere is always awesome, but the service was very slow. They didn’t have any male characters, which was a bummer for my DS. My DH enjoyed getting his picture taken with Belle. He has been dying to get a picture with a princess! After breakfast I got our strollers lined up at the rope since we were one of the first groups done eating. A CM needed a boy and a girl to open the park and she picked our older 2. They got to wave a sword and a wand to signal the opening of the MK. We got two family fastpasses to any ride in Fantasy Land. My DH ran over to Buzz and got a fastpass so it was great because we got to do Fantasy Land, BTM and Buzz all before 11:00. We had to head back to the Polynesian so that the kids could get a short nap in before we had to change resorts. We got to have a late check out at 1:00pm. DH grabbed some food from Captin Cooks and we ate lunch in the lounge after they woke up. We went swimming for about an hour until the pool closed down because of lightning. We showered at the pool and by the time I was done I got caught in a major downpour. We decided to take a Taxi over to the BWV and see if our room was ready.
I did a lot of researching on where to stay the second part of our trip. I changed reservations with deposits 5 times. We were going to be at WDW for 11 nights so we wanted to try a new resort. I thought the BWV’s would be a great choice. It’s an Epcot resort, there’s lot of space in the rooms and a fun pool too! My ds has watched his big sister go down the slide at the Polynesian pool many times, but he still can’t get the nerve to go down. I didn’t choose any of the BC/YC resorts because I think SAB is too big and with 3 kids I wanted to make sure we could keep track of them. I decided to rent some points out from another member on this board. I was a little nervous at first, but I ended up working with a really great member. She put up with me changing our reservations a couple of times. We started out at the BCV, and then w had to switch dates because we had some friends that were going to stay at the Dolphin and we wanted to be at the BWV’s when they were going to be there. Now our reservations were; 5 nights at the Polynesian instead of 6 and 4 nights at the BWV and the last 2 at the AKL.
We got up to our room and we really liked it. It was nice to have some space. We liked it so much that we cancelled our 2-night stay at the AKL concierge so we could just stay the rest of our visit in one place. We decided to go get something for dinner. We went to Spoodles for the first time. The food, service and atmosphere were very good. Our waiter had to deal with one of our Disney meltdowns and he was very understanding when my DH had a tantrum (j/k)! It was fun to be in a new area of WDW that we have never been. We decided to walk over to MGM and check it out. We did the Star Wars ride and then took the boat back and checked out the Boardwalk.
The next morning we hung out at the pool. I really missed the Polynesian pool. I think the Luna Park pool is great when all of your kids are swimmers, but I didn’t like how some of us were in the kiddie pool while the others were in the big pool. My ds wouldn’t go down the slide, but my dd and I liked that slide better than the volcano slide. I got some food from the convenience store to make lunch. Now during naptime I start to notice how much the view from our balcony is bugging me. We are overlooking Luna Park Pool and that is where a lot of the scaffolding is, so you’re starring right at it. It didn’t help that as they were napping you could hear hammering going on. Now I always travel with a sound machine and that helps with many of the noises. The hammering never woke them up but it was rather annoying to have to listen to it while you are on vacation. . My dh does some work on our trips while the kids are napping so he had his computer with him. This is when I asked for some advice on the Dis board. Trying to figure out what to do drove me crazy because I was always second guessing if we should move or stay. I thought I would wait to hear what some fellow Dis members had to say and go from there. We decided to go over and try Beaches and Cream for dinner. This was our first time eating there. The food was very good. The place was a little to confining for us and it took a long time to get our food. We decided to walk over to Epcot after dinner. We did Spaceship Earth and Honey I Shrunk the Audience. We headed over to Canada to get a spot for Illuminations. This was our first time watching the show and we were blown away. We were glad we waited 40 minutes to get a good spot. Good thing the popcorn stand was nearby!
We ate breakfast in our room every morning. It was Tuesday and we wanted to get up and go to MGM. We walked over there. It was a beautiful sunny morning. The walk is very nice, plus we beat the boat. We did Star Wars, Playhouse Disney and The Little Mermaid. It was 11:30 and time for lunch. I had a PS for Prime Time, but we decided to do the buffet at H&V. We didn’t want to have to wait for our food. This was our second character lunch at H&V. This is one of our favorite buffets; the food is very good especially the red velvet cake! The characters were great. They really interacted with our kids, except for the baby who kept her distance of course. The service was pretty bad; our server was very slow and forgot drinks. We had a great time and were glad we ate here despite the lack of service. We took the boat back and the kids had their naps. My dh went down to the pool for a bit and then I went over to AKL. It took me 21/2hrs just to get there and get a quick drink and snack! This was our first summer without a car and despite how long it took us getting to other resorts we were glad we didn’t rent a car. We tend to look at it as an adventure. We decided to head down to the pool after naps. We were having a good time and didn’t want to leave for dinner so my dh picked up a pizza at Spoodles. This was our cheapest meal! It was also our worst meal. I can always put up with bad pizza as long as I have a good drink! Later on the kids and dh went to community hall. They really liked hanging out there and playing air hockey. They had some great activities everyday for the kids and although we didn’t partake in them it was nice knowing they were available. One thing I noticed about the BWV’s is that there are a lot of teenagers there. They all looked like they were having a really good time. It made me think about what it would be like when our kids got older. I realized that I’m not much of an Epcot resort individual. Our favorite park is the MK and that area feels more like home to us. I felt like we were at the BWV’s prematurely. I can see this resort becoming a favorite of ours once the kids get into their teens

What wonderful memories of your kids opening the MK. I hope you got plenty of pictures!
