This storm came out of nowhere. They did predict rain w/ strong winds, but nothing like this. Trees, 4, 5 + stories toppled like toothpicks. People are still w/out power. They are not expecting full power to be restored until late Wed. Schools closed today, closed for tomorrow. It was like going through a maze getting to work today with all the roads closed.
We were lucky and didn't loose power or cable. We never (knock on wood), loose during storms, only when it's 82, sunny, and not a whisp of a breeze....

Saturday reminded me of 1985's Hurricane Gloria that rocked the state.
I was driving through Branford on Saturday night and ... fallen trees everywhere! I breathed a bit easier when I got onto I-95 but even then it was scary. My grandmother (who was with me in the car) was saying the Rosary under her breath.

Every block by us has trees down. 2 blocks from me a tree came down on someone's convertible. My brother was without power for 3 days. Here is a picture of my poor evergreen tree. Someone is supposed to be coming tomorrow to remove it. I can't see out my front windows at all and it is real dark in my living room.

Wow, you are so lucky it didn't hit your house. We've many houses in town that were destroyed by very large, falling trees.
Many folks are still w/out power (Wed). Crews from Canada are down to help. This is the worst storm since the 1938 Hurricanne. Schools still closed, putting us to 6/28 for the last day if they go back tomorrow...

It's just resting on the peak over the front door. DS is having his car repaired and the auto shop hasn't had any power and they can't get it off the lift. Hopefully their power will be back on today. I'm so grateful we never lost power because our sump pump was going constantly. If the power went out our basement would have been floating.

Why won't any of the tree removal people return my calls? Why do they say they are coming and not show up. I can't wait to get rid of this tree. The house is so dark I need to have the lights on all day.
