has anyone hired the "uninvited guests" for their receptions? and, if so, were they really good? was it worth it?

I did not have the 'Uninvited Guests', but I did have the Major Domo, and he was so worth it. He escorted guests to the reception site and introduced us as the 'Honorary Cinderella and Prince Charming' of the day, or whatever. Everyone loved him.
I know that doesn't help answer your question but I hope it helps give more info.
My spelling stinks today, sorry. :-)

We enquired about these when we first started looking at the weddings at Disney.
When we went for our site visit and asked about them, they are aparently quite rare, but if you did have them, they can do whatever they want; they can 'pick' on someone of your choice if you know they will get a good reaction, they go around and chat and mingle with all the guests. You can even hire a 'clumsy waiter', who will go around and almost drop things all over your guests. We was told that those who did have them at their weddings went down like a house on fire and really livened up the atmosphere.
However we decided we have enough characters at our wedding and chose another form of entertainment.
Hope this helps!

I have been to several events at WDW (not weddings, but conferences), in one of them they had the uninvited guests, it was a troupe of 3 comedians portraying a family of over the top tacky tourists.
They were funny, but not my cup of tea when it comes to weddings, they got some chuckles, but nothing memorable, maybe because the crowd was mostly working professionals? Not sure :confused3 .
It depends on what you think will go over with your guests, if they like comedy and improv acts like that and are easy to play with I would say it might actually turn out great, but if not it might fall flat. Also it depends on the mood for your wedding.

Thanks for the responses. It sounds like they're a riot and I bet they would create a lot of fun and memories for the guest.

not something i would be into so much but i wonder if any of the castmembers doing this might also be some of the "streetmosphere" Studios players or perhaps from the now defunct adventurers club. if so, the players would be great!

If we have room in the budget, I'm going to beg DF to let us put them in. We're having a lunch reception, so not much dancing. DF has a big Italian family that loves to laugh and this would liven up the party. We're going with the unexpected with this wedding so "uninvited guests" might just be the thing to really create an unforgettable event.

They aren't available for DP are they? (Im guessing no, because of the in-park issue)

I can imagine they are allowed for receptions in-park like Living Seas ect, as its booked directly through Disney.
Not too sure if its an outside event though .... Something you could ask the planners!

Does anyone have a price list for the entertainment such as the uninvited guests, tacky tourists, clumsy waiters? I thought I had it, but can't find it anywhere... THANKS!

We had one, she was $900. I would assume the more people you have the cheaper it gets per person.
The characters such as tacky tourists or uninvited guests are characters that they routinely use. However if you have an idea for something different they should be able to do it- they did for us. We had an actress named Sheila who was great.

What did Sheila "do?" These characters intrigue me. They wouldn't be available for the DP are they?

You will have to read my TR to find out what Sheila did :rotfl: That part should be posted early next week.
She was AWESOME :rotfl2:
You can certainly have them for dessert parties outside of the parks. I dont' know about inside. Def ask your planner!

Not my cup of tea for a wedding either, but YES! They are the same CM's that do Streetmosphere at MK & DHS. I've seen Sheila, Bride-to-be's person, in the parks numerous times. She and all the others are extremely talented. :thumbsup2 I'd imagine they are well worth the $$ depending on the character.

this is so fun - I had no idea that such entertainment existed (which I should've assumed since it's Disney DUH!). I just bought the Passporter Guide last night and read about it...
Does anyone else have any more info on them? Videos? Comments? Photos? I am not sure about the Clumsy Waiter, or the tourists...are there any other options? Can you have them make up a character? Like how BridetoBe did with the maid?

Sheila used to work at the Adventurer's Club, she was a great Samantha!

What do you mean about Samantha? Who is that? I have been to Adventurer's Club (loooong time ago), and loved the show - so much fun! Who is the character Samantha? :confused3
Are there more than just three types of improv characters they do?

Samantha Sterling was the female adventurer who did the Hoopla show in the library.
Here is a photo of her (same actress as the cleaning lady at the wedding).

As you probably know, the actors took turns at playing the different roles at the club, so one evening, she could be Samantha, another evening the maid or Pamelia Perkins, the club president.

I meant for weddings but thanks! I went to the adventurers club before and it was tons of fun! I just wish I could see a video of someones wedding that used actors like uninvited guests...I'm confident Disney would be awesome with whatever act they provide but it would be fun to get an idea beforehand. :)

That was the funniest wedding escapade I have seen in a really long time. Our family and friends aren't really dancing types so this might be the kind of thing we need to do to keep it fun.

that's what I was thinking as well! It's a great form of entertainment! It really makes it a very 'disney' wedding - being that disney is all about entertainment. Where else would anyone have an actor for their wedding?! It's very cool and 'different'! :thumbsup2
We just can't decide on either the clumsy waiter or the uninvited guests...Or maybe both hahah! I wish I could see video to really get an idea for how elaborate these characters are?! :confused3 :surfweb:
