Who, besides me won't be at DISCON?

Wish I was going but we aren't. The mill where DH works is the second largest paper mill in the US. Just posted where they lost $54,000,000 last quarter. They have already had many many big lay offs. DH hasn't been laid off any, but it isn't good. They have had several week or two week long shut downs. His job isn't in danger unless the whole place closes for good, but they are laying off people who have been there for as long as 15 years and can not tell them when or if they will ever be called back. I am trying to pay off things as soon as I can. This is also the reason I haven't been participating in any of the major exchanges or projects for others. I am almost afraid to. Guess I am boring you all! Anyway didn't mean to get off the subject. Just wondered who else isn't going. But those who are going I expect some pictures!! :)

No DisCon this year our trip is planned for Feruary. :(

Looks like next years DisCon is out too. We are planning a 3 week trip to Italy in September.

Maybe someday I'll make it to DisCon.

i was going but then the calendar was wrong...so region band is the same weekend and I have to go to region! :(

but hopefully I can pratice alot and make state and then it might all be worth missing DIS-CON(not really...but at least I would be really happy!)

I am a non-conner, also! We went earlier this summer. I was lucky to spend an afternoon with Dan Murphy on our trip which was very very nice (a mini-dis-con!)!

I was planning on going. It was to be my first solo trip. But,we are going in September, and then decided to surprise our girls with a trip the first week of January. We just can't swing another plane ticket the first week of December. I hope to go next year. Just me and my last DVC points for that year. However, Qwest contract is up next August, and they are already talking strike, so, if that happens, I'm not going 2003 either. I will someday go. Until then, "I'll Be Right Here!"

We won't be there, either. I'm not too sad, though. On December 17 we leave for 10 days at WDW which will include Christmas Eve and Day. We are very excited about this trip!!

After reading about all the fun everyone had at last year's Dis- Con, I was all excited to attend this year. Unfortunately, it took sooooooooo long to get any real information about DisCon II that my enthusiasm died out. I really couldn't justify the money anyway but my incentive to save the money etc. just went away after waiting sooooooo many months for any kind of real information. Even now at less than 120 days to go, still no concrete details. I just can't talk dh into spending that kind of money when I don't even have any details to share.

Oh well.... maybe next year things will be clearer and I can consider going.

I was hoping to go but things are still very slow at dh's work and now they are talking about a double dip recession! It's getting so that I'm afraid to spend any money! We also just had to put big bucks into our car so that didn't help. Still, we did go at New Year's and March Break, so I can't complain. We are hoping to return next March though, if all goes well! :D

We had soooo much fun last year, but it's just not going to work for us this year. :( Besides the kids being in school at that time, it also happens to be right in the middle of cheerleading season and my kids have a big competition that weekend. Bummer!

I'd really love to be there, but I'll be in WDW 11/14 - 11/23 this year (before our APs expire). We move into our new home on 11/22, so there's no way I'll be able to go. Anyone want to come to St. Louis instead and help me unpack??? We could have our own DISCON party!

Last year I referred to people in groups.....The DIS-Con'ers, The Non-Con'ers, and The Half-Con'ers (the ones who were there, but didn't attend the offical events. LOL!). It looks like we'll have the same groups again this year. ;) :)

I went last year with my DD (14 then) we really had a good time the special viewing of illuminations with dessert was the best. But the week it is planned is just two week before my DS has college exams and I felt bad not taking him last year as he loves WDW as much as I do, my DD can take it or leave it.
But I loved WDW decorated for Christmas and the MVMCP so much that I wanted to go to the world again this year. DS son's exams are over on 12/13 and we head to WDW on 12/14. He wanted to stay at the WL and since the discounts were so great, that is where we will be staying.
So we will miss DIS CON II but since we are going later in the month I do not feel too bad.
Here's hoping there will be a DIS CON III and maybe a cruise!
