dining plan-how many credits for 5 night stay?

trying to find out how many dining plan credits are given for a trip where we arrive at disney on a sunday around 2 pm and depart on a friday at 3 pm (5 nights).

the dvc club member that we've rented points from called dvc and he then explained it like this...
I am told that when you buy the dining plan for 5 nights, you actually get up to six days of meals. In other words, you would get meals for the day of arrival but you would also get meals for the day of departure, so it's actually six days, should you need them.

sooooooo, do we get 5 or 6 days worth of credits for our trip?

Sorry but you heard wrong! You get credits for each night of stay, not day. For a 5 night stay with the regular dining plan you'll get 5 TS, 5 CS, 5 snacks.

We normally arrive late afternoon or evening and use only our TS the first night. That leaves 1 CS and 1 snack credit for the day of departure which would be the 6th day. We use those for breakfast or lunch before leaving for home.

:goodvibes You receive credits for each night of your stay. I always think it's easier seeing your stay typed out like this:

1) Arrive Sunday for your stay - receive dining credits for this night's stay
2) Monday - receive credits for this night's stay
3) Tuesday - receive credits for this night's stay
4) Wednesday - receive credits for this night's stay
5) Thursday - receive credits for this night's stay
Friday check out day - you do not receive credits, BUT if you have any unused/leftover credits you have until midnight of this day to use them up.

So you can see, 5 night stay = 5 DDP dining. :thumbsup2

Right, you get 5 nights' worth of credits, but you can use them over 6 days. That was probably the point of misunderstanding.
