Just wondering...
I think about this option for every trip, but so far haven't chosen it.
This August we will be ding at Le Cellier, Artist Point and the California Grill on the DDP.
Anybody use this option and enjoy it?
Thanks,

At $40 per night I have a hard time considering this a good deal, but someone else might. I don't usually order bottles.
I like to order either wines I know I like or those I know I'd want to try, and being on that plan would probably make me think I should buy the most expensive wine just to get a deal.

When we checked into it several years ago, it seemed that the amount of $ allowed for the bottle didn't get you a particularly good bottle of wine at the Signature Restaurants. We aren't wine snobs by any means, but mark-up on wine is huge and most of the decent wines we would have ordered were sky high even by restaurant standards. In the end we only splurged once and bought a bottle the night we dined at CA Grill. A few other meals we just ordered a glass or 2.
That was a couple years ago and things may have changed. YMMV for sure, especially where wine is concerned :goodvibes

I also don't think the $ is worth it. We just add on what wine or other spirts we want. Do you really want to have wine every night or try some other drinks as well??

DW and I had the wine option last time we were at WDW and thought it was an ok value. Even considering the markup on wine, we were not restricted to a certain listing. Don't know if it has changed, but the entire list was open for selection.

We did not find this to be true...at Coral Reef (the only restaurant I looked at the wine selections that were available for the wine plan...we had considered it, but decided to pay OOP for wine we WANTED, not wine Disney would let us drink), there were either one bunch of grapes, or 2 bunches of grapes next to "participating" wines. The bunches denoted how many wine credits it would cost for that bottle. Not all of the wines had bunches next to them. As far as the value....I don't think there is any real "value". Caymus Conundrum (one of my favorites) was a 2 bunch wine.....I can't remember exactly how much it was, but we paid less than $80 for it at Coral Reef when we ordered the bottle with our dinner....

That will depend on the restaurant. The ones with the more extensive wine lists (usually signatures) will exempt their most expensive bottles. Some bottles will cost 2 wine credits instead of one.
At this time, they may also have a specific list to give people who are on the wine option.

Yeah, we aren't big wine drinkers but we do enjoy beer and cocktails! We do so much drinking at Disney that if they offered some sort of alcohol add-on to the dining plan that gave so many allotments for alcoholic beverages including beer, wine and cocktails it would probably be worth it for us to get it. But since we don't drink that much wine, we definitely don't feel the wine and dine plan is right for us.
