Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for using my DVC for a wedding. I have been in DVC for 7 years now and am looking for ideas. This is both of our second marrages and are looking for a small ceremony. We were thinking of maybe somethinig on a beach, but are open to any thoughts. Thanks

I think that unless you keep it to the villas you could run into issues. I remember at least one thread about this a couple of years ago and there are limitations unless you are doing a Disney managed wedding, including but not limited to where you can wear wedding attire and have pictures taken. if it is not a Disney fairy tale or intimate wedding. Since it is a second wedding for both you may not be opting for the whole long white dress, tux etc and would be in better shape that way. When you say beach do you mean at Disney or along the gulf coast or the Atlantic? Hopefully some of the people who have done weddings at the villas or in some nearby location will come here and relate their experiences.

Yeah, Disney has a VERY strict rule about wearing a wedding dress anywhere in the property if you are not using DFTW.
If you want to do DFTW tho, their cheapest package is about 3k I think.
It includes cake, ceremony, etc. It has a bunch of limitation on location and such. You might want to contact DFTW to get some details. Or hop over to the wedding/honeymoon board for questions and infos.

Other than that, congrats!!!!!

Thanks for that info. We are even open to something at vero beach or hilton head. Just a small intimate ceremony and then spending time at the resort to relax and enjoy our future together.

I am getting married at Vero Beach in October.:cloud9:

They do intimate packages that start at around $1500 for the croquet lawn or boardwalk area. But we are getting married on the actual beach. Then we are having our wedding meal at Sonya's. The resort chef is making my cake but the majority of things I need to arrange myself like flowers, photography etc.

Its perfect for us for an intimate wedding and I am so looking forward to it.:goodvibes

This thread is more suited to our Weddings board so I am relocating it over there.

Good luck with your plans! :)

If you want to do a DFTW though, you can use your DVC reservations to meet the required # of nights stay.
