I haven't seen the riddle yet, and it occured to me that maybe no one was scheduled. Here goes a quickie!

What 7 letter word becomes longer when the 3rd letter is removed?

I thought this was a typical Oldkicker type of riddle!;)

Aren't you a teacher Glo? You should be able to get this one right away! Sorry if I stepped on toes again. I even looked back on yesterday's riddle to see if Gina announced who was doing it today, and found nothing, so I concluded that no one was scheduled. I'll tell you what. If I have to leave (which I probably will before this is over), I'll give you the answer ( if you haven't gotten it on your own by then, and you can post pants.

GOOD MORNING RIDDLERS!

I am having a hard time getting moving this morning. Had a particularly busy day yesterday - and I think I need a "down" day to recoup. Unfortunately, work needs me today - so I will have to try and just pace the day more slowly. :) (yeah right!)

DD cleaned her room yesterday. This is about a bi-annual event that is something just short of a nuclear waste clean up. I had utensils and bowls surface back to the kitchen that I had not seen in a VERY long time. She did a good job though and even she had to admit it felt MUCH nicer afterwards. :)

PM sent... off to go get a giant tankard of coffee.

DblD, my DH could use some down time too. He has been burning the candle at both ends these days at work. They are moving a national security call center, and he is the telecommunications expert. He gets calls all hours of the day and night. Wednesday he went to work at 5 a.m. and got home at 5:30 p.m.. By 6:00 he was back on his way to fix another "emergency" caused by someone moving a piece of equipment that wasn't supposed to me moved until next week! That is the way the whole week has gone. He needs a day off BADLY, but it wont happen until this is complete.

DD, I picked up a lot of stuff in DS-14's room while he was away at football camp this week. He may not recognize it when he gets back this afternoon. :)

Yes, DH has been working WAY too hard this whole year. It is supposed to be completed by September, so the end is in sight!:bounce: I am so glad we had a LONG vacation this spring. The trouble is that he is not ever REALLY away from work. That darns cell phone seems to be growing out of his ear! When it rings, it usually means a problem. It rang in the middle of the night last night, and he didn't hear it. I did though, and had to get him up.

KONA!!!

I really like STRONG Kona coffee ever since we returned from Hawaii! I brewed licorice tea this morning though. Coffee is gone!

I have been meaning to email the company whose coffee plant we visited. They have the BEST peaberry Kona! It is $15 a pound, but well worth it! Trouble is, it is gone! It is called Greenwell Kona coffee. Their Estate label is good too, but I prefer the peaberry.

Carol - that was awfully nice of you to actually do the picking up. I was really forcing the issue with DD - i.e. SHE needs to pick it up. I was threatening to take a firehose to her room if she did not clean it herself.... but then again, the ultimate clean up sometimes just involves "complete removal"!

LOL! I used to give DS a deadline date and time. If he hadn't done it by then, I did it. I CLEANED with a lot of throwing out, and it only took once and he managed to get it done by the deadline!

Time sure flies, doesn't it? My mother used to hate August 1st! It always meant school was starting in a month, and she started doing her bulletin board displays at home so they would be ready to put up during Teachers Workshop. I don't think many do that much any more.

We'll be shopping for new sneakers and school supplies tomorrow -- school starts next Wednesday. It started today in an adjacent county!

Good Afternoon Fellow Riddlers! Just popped in to check the riddle, sent a guess, Diane. I think it's right, now that I see the clues!

I see Tim contributed his "two cents" worth yesterday! :rolleyes:

When I finally had a chance to check out the riddle thread myself, we had a power failure for a couple of hours, so I never did get back to it! I did want to say though, that I'm glad Len's Dad's surgery went well, Kathy. And I hope your Dad is back home soon, Marla! :D
