What do we think? Is there a chance there will be free dining in October this year? I believe they've offered it the last couple of years.

How late in October? It was offered to the general public past the first weekend only once, in 2009, and there's no way to tell if they'll do it again. There is much speculation that a public free dining offer is likely for the possible dates of August 15 - October 2, 2010, but no credible speculation for dates past that.

I don't know if this is an indication but free dining is being offered for UK visitors between Jully 5th & November 18th 2010.

Free dining for British visitors is usually offered much longer and on much different terms from the US offers, so we can't use the British offer to predict what the US offers might be.

Last year they offered the QSDP Oct. thru I think mid Dec. We got a pin for the regular DDP for the same times and went the last week in Oct. but this year?? I don't remember when during the year we got the pin, I think the free regular DDP had already started.

This year, British visitors may book free dining packages from July 5 to November 18. They may book 21 nights maxiumum on free dining, while US reservations have a maximum of 14 nights. For British visitors, they are not eligible for free dining when staying at a value resort. They must book a moderate to get free quick service dining or a deluxe to get free basic dining. They cannot upgrade the plan offered on their free dining packages, so they can't use them to get discounted deluxe dining. There's also an offer for Brits right now which combines free dining with a 40% room discount at Saratoga Springs. US offers have never combined free dining with a room discount at any time.

We arrive October 22 and we leave November 1st.

Just last year? I could have sworn that it was over the past two years. I'm not 100% on that though.

Just last year for a general public offer. There were PIN offers in years before that, but you had to receive one to use it, it wasn't applicable to the general public.

I would love to be in the meetings where they discuss what will be offered and to whom. I'm sure there is a lot of data gathering and I'd love to see those charts & graphs! There is so much difference in the geographical offers. It just makes no sense sometimes. Why would one country be offered 3 months of FD and here in the US only 6 weeks....maybe? confusing!

Is it just me or does there seem to be more PINS and such this year for normal peak times? Why? People are going when school is out so why offer so many big discounts through the summer months??? Maybe they will send me a PIN one day to sit in on one of their marketing meetings ;)
