Which one would you pick? I think it would be better with Wishes if you have kids. but I love the atmosphere you get with Illuminations.

What do you think? The kids will be 1-7 years in age.

I think Illuminations might lose the kids attention, and they might decide to wander in the park while mom and dad are watching the show. I believe Wishes is shorter, and it involves characters they recognize, so I think kids would enjoy that more.

Even though I'm an avid Illuminations lover, I'm debating the same between Wishes vs. Illuminations. Isn't a Wishes DP cheaper? Not sure.

Generally a Wishes DP is cheaper since you don't need to pay a viewing fee but you would have to pay to have the music if you wanted which I think is around $500.

While we like Wishes better we are doing an Illumination DP since you can actually be in the park to see the fireworks. You are in a private area so there wouldn't be any worries about kids wondering away.

I want to say that the food cost is probably very similar.

We had an Illuminations DP and there were 9 kids at our wedding. Ages ranged from 6 months to 10 years old with the majority being around 4 and 5 years old.

The kids LOVED it! They were definitely not bored. They loved the desserts, but they also loved watching the turtles swim by (we were in lower UK) before it got dark. Disney handed out the cool Mickey glasses for the fireworks, and you couldn't have dragged the kids away after that! All of them sat or stood very quietly for the entire show. I think the glasses helped with that! ;)

The only "problem" we had was with one young boy who was scared of the sound, but his Mom was able to calm him down.
