Eric and Amanda's Wedding TR Italy/WP/Cons. Station SLIDESHOW POSTED PG13

Ok here we go!! I want to focus mostly on the wedding so the days surrounding it might be on the shorter side. Plus it feels like as usual, I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked.

Day 1-
Most of you probably know that the night before we were scheduled to leave a HUGE snow storm hit our area...some called it a Snowicane. If you are from anywhere in the Northeast you will also know how CRAZY this is. There is no such thing as a Snowicane...we live in Upstate NY and we got snow. Period. End of Story. This happens every winter and our lives don't just shut down. I wasn't worried about the snow at all.

What I should have been worried about is Eric's work. Eric works nights and gets out at 7:15 a.m. every morning. The plan was for him to get out of work, run home and we'd leave straight for the airport.

At 7:00 I get a call...I almost had to stay at work. I asked what does ALMOST mean? Well the people that needed to show up for work weren't there. There was one co-worked that so greatfully offered to stay so he coul leave. But there was still one woman missing. He had previously asked his other co-worker that if this situation happend would she be willing to stay so he didn't miss his flight. Not only did she tell him NO, but she ended up calling in "sick" to work, claiming the snow was too bad (again, it wasn't). They finally let him go at 7:30 when they heard the second co-worker was on her way. We ended up leaving later than anticipated but arriving with plenty of time.

We got through security fairly quickly and grabbed some breakfast. For those wondering, my dress did fit in a normal carry-on and I had it with me at ALL times!! Here is Eric keeping him self occupied until take-off.

The flight was very uneventful and soon we arrived at AKL!! This was the beginning of many run in's with some odd folks. The valet that helped was...just a little off. I really can't explain it. But I couldn't help but to giggle when he called Eric Mr. Amanda's Maiden name! Soon we were checked in and off to our room. We had booke a Value Studio but ended up with a great pool view room!! Eric hadn't slept much so he was ready for a nap!

We ended up rearranging our plans, skipping Teppan Edo and heading to ESPN for dinner. The food was fab...but the waitress? A little off...The first thing she said after we were seated was this....

"So the boy I am totally in love with that works here just showed up with his friends and seated himself my section and he knows I'm in love with him because I told him" (yes it was one long sentance). She took our appetizer order (Nachos!) and drinks (milkshakes!) but forgot to take our dinner order. Dinner really just got stranger from there...

We wandered around EPCOT a bit before heading back to the room. Next up, DHS and ESPN THE WEEKEND!

So did Eric get to take a nice, long nap that day? I would hate to work an overnight shift!

Did you have any flight delays at all? You really had good luck on your side during the "snowicane!"

He opted not to take a nap so he could get on some kind of "regular" sleep schedule for the trip. By the time we got back to AKL we were both WIPED out!!!

No delays for us at all!! Nor anyone in our families!

Ok Day #2....severely lacking in pictures and I will explain why in a minute!


Saturday started off with waking up rather early and heading to Mara for breakfast. After grabbing a quick bite to eat we headed over to DHS for ESPN The Weekend.

For me, it was a rather boring day...for Eric it was a blast!! I have pictures, but really there is just about 200 pictures of Eric doing sports stuff or celebrities that I have no idea who they are!

We spent about 3 hours in the rain at the main Stage, located in front of the Sorcerer's Hat watching a bunch of sports stars (Curt Schilling and Bernie Williams to name a few). We absolutely FROZE our butts off!! Sometime in the afternoon we headed back to relax at AKL before our evening.

Saturday night we ended up going to the MK and having dinner at Liberty Tree. It was not my favorite, but it was ok. Eric on the other hand LOVED it! While at the MK we got a call from Eric's parents who just arrived.

Mini Off-Property VENT!
Eric's whole family decided to stay off-property due to the cost. When his parents arrived on Saturday they checked in only to be told there Park Hoppers were locked up and they couldn't get them until 7 a.m... they were going to be heading to AKL to have breakfast with us at 7:30 a.m.

Do you think they were ready at 7:00 a.m.?? Day #3 up next!!

Last we talked to Eric's parents they were planning on picking up their tickets promptly at 7:00 a.m. and then heading to AKL (they had no clue how to get here). It turns out at 7 the tickets were still locked up. Luckily at 7:30 a.m. they were able to grab their tickets and get on the road. We were 30 minutes late to our Boma ADR and in NO way making open for AK.

Breakfast was great as usual and we were soon on our way. Eric's parents were pretty great about everything. They let us lead the way and just enjoyed everything as it came. We were just discussing Divine and hoping we would run into her...and voila!

Eric's parents really enjoyed AK, their favorite thing being Nemo the Musical!!! His dad just LOVED this!!!

As many times as we have been to the parks, I still like to look for new things. I had always seen these before, but didn't really know what they were:

These are prayer flags, often hung in the mountains of the Himalayas! I saw something posted near Everest about it, but didn't get to take a picture. Here is something I just googled about them:

Prayer Flags are inscribed with auspicious symbols, invocations, prayers, and mantras. Tibetan Buddhists for centuries have planted these flags outside their homes and places of spiritual practice for the wind to carry the beneficent vibrations across the countryside. Prayer flags are said to bring happiness, long life and prosperity to the flag planter and those in the vicinity.

My brother ended up getting into the are early so after checking in to the BWV, he met up with us. The three of us headed to dinner at Wolfgang Pucks and then hung at the resort. It was really great to have my brother there, and early no less!

Their tickets were locked up because they apparently bought them in conjuction with their hotel and for some reason they keep them locked up. What a fiasco!

Hey Rach!!! Everything did work out pretty well. One of his aunts ended up being sick and seeing the ceremony but not the reception, but other than that everyone made it down safe and sound and had a great week!!

If your hubby is a huge sports fan, I say learn the names and everything else, IMO, it makes for a better marriage to have sports in common. I love how my DH and I can talk about a football or baseball game. I even got excited about the football combine this year and can't wait for the draft!! DH loves that I've gained a passion for his passion!!:lovestruc

Post some pics of the sports celebs! I'd love to see them! I can't believe you saw Bernie!!! I would love to be able to take DH to ESPNtW. One day, one day...

It was a bit warmer for AK day, but still chilly!! The sun always helps!!!

It's funny because yesterday it was like 55 here...and it felt SOOO warm. But 55 at Disney just seem frigid!:rotfl:

Eric is a HUGE Yankees fan!! One of our best wedding gifts was Yankees tickets!! Our best Man and his wife bought us tickets to the Old Timer's Game in July!:cool1: The four of us are going down together. I love baseball but stink at remember names. We have fun watching it together though. Thanks for the advice!!

I don't have the ESPN pics loaded on Shutterfly so I can't post them today, maybe tonight.

Funny story...I told Eric to watch out for VIP tour guides because during ESPN The Weekend the sports celebrities often take some time to do the parks. We were waiting in line at the Sum of All Thrills and I saw one... I couldn't get the words out fast enough so I started whispering to Eric, CELEBRITY CELEBRITY CELEBRITY!!!! He turned around and just stared. I asked if he knew who it was because I didn't. This guy was about 3 feet from us. Eric's eyes got really wide :scared1: That was BERNIE WILLIAMS!!

:rotfl: Lol I told you I stink at names! We did catch Bernie later on at the Main Stage too.

Day #4

Monday morning started off rather slow. My body never got used to the fact that it was ON vacation and promptly woke me up at 7 every day :rotfl: After hanging around the room a bit, I headed downstairs to grab breakfast for myself and the boys. At about 9 I finally got them up, showered and we headed to the Studios.

We ended up meeting up with Eric's parents for a while, did some rides and had lunch. I have to say I have heard some VERY mixed reviews of Pizza Planet but we all really enjoyed it! Eric and I actually went back later in the week for lunch again!

At around 3 we made our way back to the hotel. Eric and I had plans to meet The Roots in Celebration. We were really excited to meet up with them...and weren't disappointed! They were both great and it was nice to get a feel for how they work. We haven't gotten our pictures from this yet, obviously, but I will post them when we do.

At this point both our Maid of Honor and Best Man had arrived. We all had dinner plans at 7 for Raglan Road. We picked up Eric and Danielle on our way back to the BWV. There we grabbed Lauren, Patrick and my brother and we all made our way to the bus for DTD.

Dinner at Raglan Road did not disappoint! Awesome food as usual!! Here are some fun pictures of that night:

We had been watching the weather and while Monday was GORGEOUS (70 and sunny), the outlook for Tuesday wasn't looking too hot. Eric and Eric had big plans to golf at the Magnolia Golf Course. The major part of the storm was supposed to clear by 9 a.m. so there was no convincing them to change their reservations!

I dropped them off at around 8 a.m. and told them to call when they were done. We had to be at the Wedding Pavilion at 3 p.m. so they knew how much time they had....

I headed back to the BWV's to my parents room. We decided to head to DTD. I needed to pick up the TIW card and we just wanted to get out of the hotel for a bit. If I haven't mentioned it before, my Dad isn't really into Disney. He had no interest in coming, except for the wedding, so we didn't get him to a park or anything. He seemed to have a good time at DTD with is new camera.

We headed back to the hotel so we could get ready for the rehearsal. I gave Eric a call only to find out they weren't even close to being done. He thought I wanted them all to be ready by 2:45 but I had to tell him everyone was meeting at 2:15...and it was a good thing we did. I don't think Eric realized how hard it was to get everyone ready and in cars to be somewhere on time!! My brother was a godsend and went to pick up Eric and Eric from golf, dropped off my Eric then went to get our Best Man Eric and his wife.:lovestruc

Awesome update mandy! What did you you think of the desserts at the dessert party? (you had the same menu were planning :-) )
Overall the desserts were pretty good. The linzer diamonds...people either loved them or hated them. I would have preferred the tiramisu to be individual and it wasn't really tiramisu but it was good. The bread pudding would have been wonderful had it had some kind of sauce. Overall it was really good though!

So Yay for Lauren uploading pictures!!! I didn't have too many getting ready pictures...or so I thought. I'll try to label them as I go...some are my Dad's and some are Lauren's.

Wednesday morning started fairly early. We had ADR's for breakfast at 8:15. Mom, Lauren and I all had t-shirts made...unfortunately it was cold and we all ended up with sweatshirts on over them. We also didn't get a picture of all of us, but they made for great conversations from CM's!

The florist had called me the day before to let me know that the peonies had come in a bright fuschia (like I wanted) but when they opened up they were pale pink. Did I want just a rose bouquet in fuschia or a mix of colors of pinks with the peonies. I opted to keep the peonies and am so glad I did!!!

I opted to have one of my tattoos covered up. It's one I plan on getting redone but didn't have time before the wedding. Because it's only 2 years old and kinda dark, they weren't able to cover it completely but fade it quite a bit. I kinda wish I would have just left it alone but I'm ok with how it turned out!

My metabolism slowed down in my mid-20's so I blame that. Thankfully in the past few years, I've been better about getting my weight back on track. It takes work though and that sucks. I miss being younger with great metabolism! Of course, while trying to lose weight, part of me says to myself "What the heck is the point? I'll gain all of this back (and then some) when I get pregnant!" LOL! Oh well. Being healthy is always a good thing anyway. I think when Spring finally gets here, it will be easier to get outside to do things and that helps. I doubt I'll ever fit back into my wedding dress again though.

I wanted to wear my dress again on our first VR anniversary..I had Publix make a cake exactly like ours and put the topper on...but the dress was too big. I was thinking about a trash the dress session on the beach..but I would need it altered down but I just can't justify it ..

So we left off everyone had headed down the aisle, the doors closed and Mom, Dad and I walked up...I heard the music change to When You Wish Upon A Star and started immediately crying when the doors opened.

Sooner or later we begin to understand that love is more than verses on valentines and romance in movies. We begin to know that love is here and now, real and true, the most important thing in our lives. For love is the creator of our favorite memories and the foundation of our fondest dreams. The ceremony of marriage in which you come to be united is one of the first and oldest ceremonies in all the world, celebrated in the beginning in the presence of God himself. We are together as friends, relatives and family to mark the end of one beginning and to recognize officially a new beginning which for Eric and Amanda serves as a public affirmation of their friendship and their love.

They also want this day to mean something special to you as guests. Amanda and Eric have brought with them a strong wooden box. In addition, they have written a letter to one another, expressing their thoughts about the good qualities that they have found in each other, as well as, your reasons for falling in love. Under no condition were they to read each other’s letter.

This box is not to be opened again until your 1st wedding anniversary. Your gift to each other will be a poignant reminder of the reasons that you fell in love with each other in the first place. It will give you an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the many ways that you have enriched each others lives, and remind you how blessed you have been to have shared this journey.

The runner is "paper" kinda like an expensive napkin, lol. It was way cheaper than the cloth one and we only used it for like 25 minutes.

I didn't want plain roses...they are pretty, but I really had my heart set on the peonies, even if they ended up being different colors. I'm SO glad I made the right choice! I agree with you, they have a certain depth to them.:lovestruc

We took the bus back to the Boardwalk where Eric and I enjoyed a private walk, just the two of us:lovestruc It was a wonderful way to spend the evening!

One of the things I loved about your wedding is that you Know it's at Disneyworld - I don't see the point in spending all the money and making guests travel for an event that could be held anywhere, things like the dessert party and the safari theme with Minnie and Mickey and the cake make the most of the location, make it different from a standard reception. I've seen pictures of beautiful weddings and receptions at WDW that could have been taken in any nice location, in which case why make the guests travel all that way for your own honeymoon convenience?? I think you did a great job in making it unique by using what WDW had to offer. The Tamu Tamu courtyard would have been cool, but the guests will surely remember the Conservation Station and safari themeing, and dessert party, and pavilion with castle in the background- all these things which are made possible by having it at WDW.

Thank you so much! I'm really happy with how everything turned out. I just wish we had more time! We keep saying to each other how fast it went by. But it was almost 10:30 when we called it quits...a lot of the kids were already falling asleep!

Thank you so much for this post. Back when we were planning we got quite a bit of flack for changing our minds so much. But ultimately we both agreed that we were going to Disney for a reason and we could have had our reception in a ballroom or hotel back here. We wanted an experience, not only for us but our guests! I loved that we had a bit of the traditional Disney Fairytale with the Wedding Pavilion but also had a bit of what Eric loves most...Animal Kingdom!!! Several of our guests have told us what a great time they had and are so glad we got married at Disney. Even though his brother didn't take advantage of Disney the way we hoped (the kids missed a lot of great attractions) he called us a few days ago thanking us for the trip and saying it was the BEST trip of their life. That made us both very happy!! So I guess what I'm saying is I totally agree, lol!!

Welcome to your new purse obsession..I got a D&B bag back in the 90s when they were the equestrian leather bags and that started it...I still have it and the leather is in excellent condition. Key to keeping bags is rotate..I put them in the duster so they don't get too worn.

Amanda, I hope your Eric isn't a Chipper Jones(he plays for he Atlanta Braves) fan. I you guys were ever to run into him at ESPN Weekend or Spring Training(just practice) he wot sign an autograph or anyone. My little brother who's now 13 but 3 at the time had his heart broken and was in tears when he asked him really nicely and very innocent for him to sign this gigantic baseball that they sell at WWoS for autographs, and Chipper Jones not only ignored him, but was really rude to him. I hope the other Athletes and Sports Personalities that were there were much more friendly about signing autographs for all who were there.

Was Eric able to get Bernie Williams Autograph or did he at least say hi to you both? There's only one former Red Sox Player turned Yankee(now no longer a Yankee) who broke my heart, Johnny Damon(and believe it or not was a Dis Groom). It's cool you & Eric are Yankees fans:)! If it makes a difference I do like the Jets and My sis and DBil went to Syracuse for college, so
