hello its me again!:)
can somebody talk me through the annual passport please?
i have a looked at dlrp magic website but i don't really understand how it works.
let say i am planning for another trip this year, do i need to buy the ap before i go? i am going this may (have everything booked and paid), so if i get an ap when i am there in may do i get all the discounts back?
for example if i am planning to go again in october-do i need to buy tickets and book hotel separately then when we get to dlrp purchase the ap? or i purchase the ap now (when we go in may) and use them for october trip.
please help me!!!i am so confused :confused3

When you say that you have booked and paid for May, is this a package that includes tickets?
If so, there's no point in getting Annual Passes in May as it'd waste 5 months of your Annual Pass. You would be best getting them when you go in October.

Yes its a package i booked direct with disney.
So if im going in october how to do it? Do i book park ticket and hotel separately, book package as usual or just book the hotel then buy ap when we are there?
What if there is offer coming up?

Usually, the best time to buy an AP is when you are staying offsite, and paying for room only (ie no park tickets). You book your hotel at or near Disney (several agents offer good prices for the associated hotels, and Expedia sometimes offer room only at the onsite hotels too). You don't buy any park tickets. On your first day at the Disney parks, you go to either Bureau Donald or Guest Services at the entrance to the main park (or Guest Services at the entrance to the Studios) and buy your Annual Pass there and then. From then on, you can use it as a park entrance ticket, for as many days as you like and as many trips as you like, within 12 months, until it expires (and as long as its not an AP blackout day, if you're not buying a Dream AP).
One you have your APs, you can then crunch the numbers on any future trips you take to DLP, to compare package offer discounts, AP onsite room only discounts with Disney (usually not very good at all), offsite hotels and your APs for park tickets etc. APs can offer great flexibility, if you check out all your options and don't mind staying offsite :).

Thank you Elaine!
Say for example the 40% off offer, is it cheaper to book package with disney direct or cheaper to bool room only then use the ap?

Well actually, as I've just discovered thanks to the lovely members of this forum, it can be cheaper to do something in between - have a read of the last 2 pages on this thread -

I'm going to have a word with the other moderators here, to see if we can get a summary of this AP holders option added to the Very Useful Information sticky somewhere - its certainly something that AP holders should be aware of, and its just saved me an extra £80 on top of the 40% discount package price :)

With the dream AP (which Im sure Ive read you are planning on getting ) there is 20% of shopping in all shops in dlp including the carts etc and 10% off all food and drinks . The discount is off food is for all the party not just the AP holder

Tq for your reply small world!
I have a quick question re fantasy vs dream ap: with dream ap you benefit from emh but not with fantasy ap. Let say if i book package onsite (with just 1 adult(ie dh), 1 child,1 infant and add my name as ap holder when we check in, do i get emh if i just have the fantasy ap?or it is as long as we book onsite all the party will get emh?
