Has anyone ever stayed at the Etap Hotel at Calais near the tunnel and Cite Europe? We are thinking of staying there to break up our return trip to UK. I am seeing a lot of mixed reviews about it but as we are planning to get there late in the day on a Saturday and leave first thing Sunday morning would it be okay? It would just mean we would get extra Disney time on the Saturday before we head home and make the most of our time at the parks.
We won't be bothering with breakfast as we'll be aiming to get Eurotunnel pretty early and grab something to eat back in UK.
We're most likely going to use Premier Inn at Folkestone on the way to DLP but it works out exxy to stay there on the way back given it's a Saturday night and we need 2 rooms.

I think HildasMuriel stayed there on one of her trips to break the journey down and Ive a feeling shes doing the same again in summer.

Ive not stayed at that one but have stayed at other Etap hotels - they are very basic but are fine. Usually clean and with a comfortable bed which is all you tend to need.

We did stay at this one in August 2008, although last year and this year we decided to stay at one nearer Disney, just so we don't have to get up so early the next day.

It was ideal for an overnight stay - no frills and basic but very clean - and only about £35 for the night. :thumbsup2

Thanks guys, think we'll book that one which means we get more park time on the Saturday instead of NO park time :cool1::banana::cheer2:
Makes it even more worthwhile...and a little OT but on the way to Folkestone I have found a British Wildlife Park that we are going to stop at...badgers, squirrels, hedgehogs, weasels...*squee* my Aussie kids are going to LOVE it!!:woohoo:
