Wow, I'm sorry to hear this. If you're uncomfortable with a response or post on the boards, you might want to consider hitting the little exclamation point sign underneath that DISer's name. It allows you to send a note to the moderators so they can look into the potential problem.

I can't find a post with that text in it, so perhaps the post was already removed or edited?
"throw away campground reservation" sounds like a fairly sensitive topic among the Ft. Wilderness fans...I think it refers to people making campground reservations to take advantage of on site perks, while actually staying off-site...

It's on the same idea as the pool-hopping, mug-reusing threads. It's a sensitive topic for some, and brings out very strong feelings to those who love the Fort. However, name-calling is never the answer.

I got it in my e-mail, not a private message, so I guess it was a post. It really took me by surprise. You can be passionate about something , you can disagree about something, but you don't do a personal attack on someone on a message board. Your talking about throwing away a life for a 1 night reservation. Just wrong!

I believe that only a moderator can delete a post.
A person can edit the post, but there would still be a post by that person in the thread.
So it would seem that a moderator did something about it already.

Kevin, don't tell them your theory on making an ADR for 5 when there are only 4 in your group but no ADR availability! I don't think you would make it out alive! I have never seen a group so passionate about a campsite!!

I get emails on every post that is posted on a thread that I'm subscribed too. Last week on the ABD thread I got an email of a post that only two of us saw before it was removed. I only saw it because it was sent to me as an email.

The thing was, it wasn't a bad or mean post. It was on FEB 26 I saw it at 6:20AM and it said that ABD was adding something new for 2010, that was it. I have deleted the email now, but the person who posted it wasn't anyone I've ever seen post on the podcast boards before. :confused3

Hmmm, maybe it gave one of our surprises away and Kevin didn't want to spoil the surprise. :confused3 You never know ;) Was it something really good that was added?

As I am not a Mod on that board, I would have reported the post.

It didn't say anything but ABD was adding something new for 2010. The person didn't say what was being added. It was weird.

There would still be a post by that person in the thread in that case, but there was no post by that name.
I think the mystery is over...person posted in the thread, moderator saw it and deleted it. OP was subscribed to the thread because they posted in it and per their settings on subscriptions received the email of the original post. Happens to me all the time, although the posts don't normally disappear, but they get edited shortly after they were posted.
And thus concludes another episode of DIS Investigations. Time for a scotch...oh, wait, its only 9am...

Half of them were probably cut-and-pastes about Fastpass, Rider Switch, Give-A-Day, etc. :)

All contentious threads should end up in discussions about getting drunk. I find it solves a great many issues. :)
At my old company, we had a "water cooler" mailing list (we were consultants spread across the U.S., so it was how we chatted). Whenever a thread war would break out, someone would mention beer. Instantly all posts started talking about what's new in brew...and the thread never went back to the original topic.
Although I think that the DIS could adopt something a little different, like favorite rides or something...alas, some moderators would probably squelch it as being off-topic. :(

And on the Krispy Kreme run you cannot puke the Krispy Kremes either or you are disqualified.
