downgrading dining plan

Assuming that Disney offers free dining, I was wondering whether they ever allow guests to downgrade a free regular dining plan to the quick service dining plan. We've done free regular dining twice and absolutely loved it; however, this year, we will have less park time and we'd like to save the money that we'd normally spend on tips.

Sorry, no. You can upgrade your free dining plan, but not downgrade it. However, it's usually allowed to use the TS credits for CS meals during free dining. (There's also an outside possibility that QS will be the free dining plan at value resorts this year, but that's still just speculated at this time.)
