I have heard that it could be better than the American dollar by the summer. It is good for us who are travelling but terrible for trading.

Thanks for posting this article, we booked for late Sept/2010. If this is true we will be whistling dixie! Our final payment for our trip is Early Aug/10. A good deal could even get greater., loving it!

I've heard this a couple of times in the last year and it never ended up happening.

Right now the exchange rate is approx 1.0432....I would suggest exchanging a few dollars. The last time it was this rate I thought I would wait and see if it improved a cent or two and it ended up going back to about 1.10. If you regularly change a little money it all sort of balances out in the end.

Wow!! Is it that high now?? Going to check with the banks on Monday and maybe get a few dollars for the kids changed over. I wonder when Visa will recognize it?
I am dating myself here...but does anyone remember in to he 1970's when we were on par with teh USA dollar?

That is based on world oil prices which have gone up a bit recently.

Dollar is doing great! The good news, at least for us travellers, is that the analysts are predicting this is not a blip like previous parity runs. They expect our dollar to hover around this level well into the future. BMO Capital Markets and other analysts say we could be at parity "for years".
