We're probably going to take the TGV from CDG to Disney. When we were staying at the Santa Fe, the plan was to get the bus but looking at the map, the Cheyenne seems a lot closer. We'll have a big case, a couple of kids cases (all on wheels) and a Phil & Ted pram with a 3 and 4.5 yo. It'll be around 1930 or so by the time we get there. I just remember the hassle getting on the bus for Santa Fe the last time as the park shut - it wasn't pleasant.:scared1:

Walking, the Cheyenne isn't any closer than the Santa Fe :confused3 - they are across the rio grande from each other. On the shuttle, the Cheyenne is closer than the Santa Fe.

Will the main park already be closed when you arrive? If not, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting the shuttle (although thats a lot of luggage plus the buggy to get all on between the 2 of you adults). Have you looked into the price of a shared shuttle (which possibly won't be shared anyway) from CDG to your hotel and back? It would be more convenient for you than the TGV, and its a door-to-door service.

The Cheyenne is opposite Santa Fe so its not that much differenet to be honest. You will need to head through disney village, past New York and along the canal (stay on New York side - dont cross over)
It is walkable especially if the children help with the smaller cases

Hi DLPdaft

I looked at a shared shuttle, they were still more expensive than the TGV and I quite fancy travelling there in 10 minutes or so. It's one of these things I've always wanted to do - go on a TGV that is. I'm no train spotter but the train system in France is so much better than ours, and the TGV is the flagship.

The kids suitcases are quite small, we should be able to get them on and off quickly and I'll keep the buggy folded on the train/bus.

On the google map, it looked like you came out of the station, turned right then down the road a bit. Still a few weeks to decide though!

I have to say, the TGV is my favourite mode of transfer between CDG and DLP too - but I only have my DD and 2 hand-luggage size cases to contend with. They do usually have guards on the platforms at both stations, so you shouldn't really have any problems getting all your luggage and family on/off the trains etc.
One trip, at DLP, we had to wait for ages to get on the train because a school trip (and all their luggage) was trying to get off, while commuters were trying to get on in the same doorway :confused3. That was fun - and the guard just stood back and let them all get on with it :rotfl:.

Thanks smallworld, just looked on the map on the computer and it looks further - the one on the iPhone has the Cheyenne where the hotel NY is so I think the bus from the station is the preferred option.

As your arriving by train id walk the bus route which to the cheyenne is only about 10min walk. Walking through the village is a long winded route from the train station but if your coming from the parks it shorter alright.

Ive a p+t too so id put the kids in buggy one of you take buggy+ kids case and the other one take large case+other kids case maybe:confused3

I wouldnt walk to the santa fe from station it would take around 20mins, did when we stayed at the santa fe b4 (because the shuttle bus was crazy busy) and all i had was the buggy.

Thanks for all the replies and hope you enjoy the holiday next week fugee, looking forward to hearing how you get on.

When we took the P+T 2 years ago, they still weren't that common and we had a few people admire it. The best bit was at the airport when the x-ray operator shook her head at the pram, I then took off the lower seat and the wheels to put it through the the scanner - she was impressed at how small it folded. We haven't used it for a while as our kids are good walkers but they'll never last a day walking.

Fugee there was a thread earlier about someone stealing a P+T, might be worth taking a lock, we intend to.

[QUOTE=Johnny_boy;35761531]Hi DLPdaft

We were going to get the TGV as we arrive after the last bus leaves. However we booked with 'ezyshuttle'. John charges just 60 euros there, 60 euros back. it worked out less expensive than the tgv and just stopped the worry over getting from the terminal to the train station in time to catch our train, then from the train station to hotel cheyenne etc etc.
This way we have someone pick us up from our terminal, they have car seats for the kids and we get took straight to our hotel door!!

It may all be academic, the Tgv website isn't allowing me to book the return train until just before my flight - I guess they must be full.... I may have to get a shuttle after all.

emailed John at Ezyshuttle and he can't pick me up but can take me back so TGV out and hopefully Ezyshuttle back!

I read somewhere earlier about booking the TGV 10 days before going so had been holding off as Easyjet have already changed my flight times to exactly the same times as they were originally - they sent an email to tell me this. I suppose like most things 10 days before is fine off season but with all the promotions just now sooner rather than later!

Ah well, looks like the best of both worlds

I just booked the tgv on Tuesday gone and travelling on Sunday.

Not sure how quick it fills up. I'm sure weekday evenings are busier

We're Flying out at 1630 on 6th May and there were no TGV slots to book between 1230 and 1530. John is picking us up at 1400 for the return which means we can get a good 5-6 hours in the park before we leave :cool1:
