When I was 13, my parents took me and my 4 younger brothers and sisters across Lake Michigan on a ferry boat and then we drove all the way around, staying at cabins on the way. I loved that trip!!!
The first family vacation my DH and I took with our boys was to Muskegon, MI for two nights in a hotel when the boys were 3,5, and 11. We took several trips like this in order to work up to the BIG vacation to WDW which we finally did when the boys were 9,11 and 17.

I think the first family vacation I took was when I was 4. It is the first one I remember, anyways. We drove from CA to St. Louis, MO to visit my Grandpa, and stopped at many different locations along the way. :)

You know, I don't remember. My parents started taking me on family vacations before I could walk. My dad says I was about 6 months old to Disneyland, he thinks.
They started me off right, wouldn't you say? ;)
I do know that I have pictures of trips to Yosemite, Giant Sequoias, Yellowstone, and Glacier all before I was about 6 years old. Then there were also the trips to Farmington and Albuquerque to visit relatives.

I don't remember my first family vacation. My folks had a trailer that we pulled behind the family automobile, and we took off for a month every summer. We travelled all over the United States. There are pictures of me visiting California when I was still in diapers. We spent many enjoyable summers visiting Colorado and my uncle's cabin in Eldora. And it wouldn't be a summer vacation without a trip down to Anna (Illinois) to visit my grampa and all my cousins.
Sue and I took our first family vacation in 1985 to Myrtle Beach with her parents. We drove on down to Florida to visit with my grandmother and (of course) to visit WDW.
Soon after James was born, we drove down to Holden Beach (North Carolina) to visit my uncle and my grandmother who had relocated there from Florida. James loved playing in the ocean.
Only 3 months after Sarah was born (completing our family), I had to fly to California on business. The company I was working for let me bring my family along, so we spent the first part of the week in Milpitas where I was training some engineers as part of a technology transfer. When my work was done, we headed south to Oxnard to visit my aunt and uncle. It was on that visit that Sarah first managed to roll over on her own. After visiting relatives we headed for DISNEYLAND!!!
We have since taken many family trips, nearly all to WDW. But we have another tradition of driving up to Niagara Falls around spring break to enjoy the sites before the place gets crowded.
So that is my long answer to your short question.

We never had a family vacation when I was a child. We went camping over weekends or took day trips to Jerome or the Grand Canyon, but we never had a family vacation.
I did have one vacation with my father (there was a divorce and my mother wasn't on this trip)...he took my sister and me to Disneyland in 1956. A road trip from Houston to Anaheim :) No interstates back then. I will never forget the magic of that trip :)

My first vacation was going to the shore at age 2 with my family, and my cousins family. We've been doing it ever year, and I'm now 17.

My first family vacation is the same one I take every year. To the mountains in Western North Carolina. We now have the 3rd generation of kids playing together every summer, and I have to admit, this year, I got really choked up thinking about all the memories and good times that have been made on the mountain!

Where at? I'm in the beautiful, lovely mountains of WNC!
My first (and last) family vacation was when I was either 2 or 3. It was to WDW! Maybe that's why I am so hooked now. Next month my sisters will be going with us so it will be a family vacation after all these years!

The first ones I remember were to Cape Cod and camping trips in New York State. To this day I still don't like camping! :(

As a child, my first family vacation was to Duluth and the North Shore of Lake Superior. I remember that we stayed in a log cabin right on the lake. When I was school age, we started taking driving vacations to the mountains every year. I had been in 46 of the then 48 states by the time I got to high school.
When we got married, we lived in upstate NY for 4 years. We did lots of little family side trips to Vermont, Cape Cod, NY City, and the Adirondacks. Now, it seems we only travel to WDW and Hawaii.

I don't remember, but have seen pictures of me on the ferry crossing the Straights of Mackinaw (before bridge was built!) heading to Tahquamenon Falls. First memories were weekends at Otsego Lake.
Most memorable adult trip was first trip to WDW in 86;)

I don't know where my first family vacation was. We used to go camping every year. We visited just about every state on the east coast. I think I was 7 maybe when we went to WDW for the first time.

Princess Michelle : I've never been on a family vacation.
Don't feel bad...I didn't go on a vacation until I graduated from high school and that was with my Sister, BIL and their DS to Palm Coast, Florida. They paid for the place to stay/food and I paid for my flight and souveniors. My parents still have never been on a vacation. The furthest they go is 2-3hrs to clean off the family grave sites
My first vacation with DH was a weekend in Tennessee. Our first week long vacation was to St. Augustine, Florida.

The first one I remember was a trip around Lake Superior. It was really cool...we camped on the shores all around the lake. It was that trip that I got my love of rocks from....we went to one beach that is hidden unless you know where it is. It is a rock beach and we collected agets and other cool gems. We met an old native that showed us a really cool cave kinda thing where we could find amethysts. Lake Superior is so beautiful and so fast, I think it has to be one of my favourite spots to take a vacation.

We went to Wildwood Crest and stayed at the Catalina and the Conca'dor. I just turned 15. There were 6 of us in 1 room and we had a blast!! It was the 1st time I ever saw the ocean, I loved it!!
When I was like 6 we drove out west and went to the Grand Canyon, Royal Gorge, Bryce Canyon, & seen old faithful(Is that at Yosemite?)..
My first family trip with my girls was Virginia Beach/DC with Mandy..
And Niagara Falls was Cassie's first trip..
The Smokey Mountain weekend trips don't count..;)

The earliest one I remember was when I was 6 yo and we drove our van to Panama City Beach. I have a pic of me standing by the ocean holding a float with a goofy grin on my face. I was amazed about all that water.:)

We always had the same vacation, every year. I'm not sure what kind of a vacation it was for my mother or my aunt, but this is what we did. Our family, and my aunt and uncle's family, would rent cottages at the shore, Rehobeth Beach, Delaware My mother and my aunt would be with us for most of the summer, and my father and my uncle would come on the weekends. We had 9 kids in my family, my aunt and uncle had 7, so my mother and my aunt were a bit busy, to say the least. They didn't seem to mind though, I remember those days as being very carefree.
As a child, my first family vacation was at age 4 when we drove from Penna. to Calif. in a big old Pontiac Bonneville (no A/C!) and we broke down in the desert!! We of course went to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, the old Marine World, etc.
DH and I took DD camping when she was 9 months old. Our family FLEW to Calif. when DD was 3.5 yrs. old and DS was 2 months old. We have since been to 39 states, (WDW and Cruise in '00), Canada and the Bahamas. I would have to say that the New England States trip back in '99 has been the best vacation for me.

For as long as I can remember my mom, dad, and I went to Florida, always for two weeks. Sometimes we would stay the whole two weeks at Daytona Beach and then when I got older we spent one week sightseeing in some other part of Florida and then ending up in Daytona. I thought everybody stayed for two weeks in Daytona! One we went to Washington DC and then once we went West. The only thing I think I have not been to in Florida is Sea World and Busch Gardens and they both opened after DH and I got married.
My first vacation with DH and children that wasn't to Gatlinburg was to Myrtle Beach. DD was 5 and DS was 2.
