~The Daily Grind~ 3/9/10

It's Tuesday!!

Yesterday I went for a walk when I came home. First time in several years! I got the choc pup, and DS18 even came with us. I didn't think I could make it, and it just made me more determined. I used to do this lap 3x! I was walking a 15min mile back then. It took me over 30min to do one this time!

When we came home, there was a bit of a health scare with the choc lab, I thought she was having a heart attack! She was soooo excited to go for a walk, but it might have been too much for her all at once. Guess we both need the exercise!

But I need new sneaks! The ones I was wearing just aren't comfortable for walking.

My list for today:

Caffeinate- this repeats everyday!! http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e147/ddavis860/smiley/smiley_drinkcoffee.gif

Keep my word kinder

Keep to my points!

Work till 3p

Come home and walk the mile

You're kidding me, right? I'm actually snoozing in bed and thinking..."woohoo, we only owe the oil company $40" (they sent a bill with "no more deliveries this season" written across it with a $40 balance due) and DH comes in and says...get this..."The heat won't come on." What the freakin' flippin' beeeeeeeeeeeeeep? The heat won't come on. It won't blow cold air, it won't come on! Now I've got to have a service call. We all know how much those cost!

Good thing I had no (major) plans to do anything today...Now I have to wait for the oil guy (no emergency, but it needs to be done, it's getting downright nippy in here). So much for hanging out in jammies though!

Maybe I'll just stay in bed...

I'm looking forward to the nicer weather too for outside exercise.

Good for you for getting out there Deb. This time next year, you will be doing that lap 3x with no problem. :thumbsup2

Skipped early exercise. Didn't sleep well.
Kids out the door.
Exercise.
Shower.
Try to shop & get to library.
Exercise skipped.
Lunch.
Laundry.
Dust and clean shades on all the ceiling fans.
Dust ceiling cobwebs away - Halloween is too far away to start decorating.
Vacuum up all the new dust on the floor.
Freebreeze the dog beds. They really don't like that. :rotfl2: They roll themselves all over the beds when I'm done to get rid of the new smell.
Make the salmon for dinner tonight. Forget we had to finish the left over chinese from the weekend.
Pick up Little Bit.
Homework.
Dinner.
Work on swaps.

Brooke, your spring break must be the same as ours as DS has 14 more school days until then. He can't wait!!! I asked him if he wanted to go away for part of it or what he wanted to do and he said he just wanted to chill at home.

DS is also very happy about today and tomorrow because he doesn't have to go to school until noon. They are doing FCAT testing (state testing) and juniors don't take any of it except the part they take on Thursday.

My day:
Make DH's lunch
exercise
laundry
Clean
Wake up DS
Get brother's birthday present & mail
Pick up Wii fit I ordered (SIL's birthday present from February) at Best Buy. It took me this long to find one! Luckily DH will be going down that way on Thursday and can take it.
Wait for text that DS has made it to school
Work
Dinner - leftovers

Have a great day!

Deb - awesome! I love New Balance walking shoes. They fit my foot great and helped heal my plantar fascitis. They're about $100 a pair :scared1:, but since I live in them (sad!) 24/7 practically - well worth it.

Yesterday turned out to be a big L day, but not so much on the B (bathrooms and S (swaps) - did a zillion loads - hampers are all empty - and a bunch of other chores, but *never* found time to get to the B and the S...

Today, I visit the neurologist and see if she agrees that I've made a lot of progress. Feel like it, but am at about 95% of "pre-crash" feeling/functioning - will I eventually make it the rest of the way, or...? DS's teacher visits this afternoon, and then I get to feed the Bean's rat and the other animals today...ugh.

Congrats, PJ! Like the "run like the wind"!!!!
Jennifer - sorry to hear about the heat, or lack thereof..!
AYM - our dog does the same thing with the Febreeze - it's like they're thinking, "Hey, I worked hard to get this cushion/bed to smell this doggy-like, now you have to come and spray that crap...?"

Deb - awesome job on the walk! It's so nice up here, if it stays nice later in the week, I'll take one when I get the chance too. And hey, a chance to shop for new shoes! Shopping is good. :)

Jennifer - I'm sorry about the heat - I hope it's an easy fix, and nothing major.

Ann - I laughed at the Halloween comment.. :rotfl:

And hey, you only have to feed the rat one carrot, once! I still have to feed it the rest of the week!

So I'm reading your posts, and slowly, I started getting surrounded by cats... they were closing in on all sides, so much that I couldn't move my elbow to eat my cereal without bumping into one... and there were only two of them! I can't imagine what would happen if the poofy one decided to come by as well.

Today:
Up

Myself fed
Get ready
Take bus to school

Class #2

I fixed it!

Remind me to slowly torture my DH later. He turned the thermostat off yesterday. I'm sure I told him to never ever do that. It got all messed up and somehow the furnace got turned off too? Well, I replaced the batteries, and went down and hit the reset button the furnace (I always freak doing that, wondering if it will blow up) and it fired! Hallelujah!

Oh, and I figured out why I lost it over a pair of shoes yesterday. My long lost friend showed up this morning. Thought I had abandoned her last year! Evil wench.

yay Jennifer for fixing it yourself be sure to let the husband know how smart you are and how much money you just saved him. he then can kiss you feet and take you to dinner!!!:lmao:

PBF good luck with the doc better luck with the rat:scared1: I'm still not over the pic they posted of it. I think barn rats............ probably if I lived in the city I'd think sewer rats.. shiver just can't handle them but I'll stand back and support you both on the feeding of it.

Okay off to have and arguement with the gravel pit...................... decided to let the truck driver do it. We're bringing in hard pack and have GC that are old yes they are old but NH is a no expriation state for under $100 and over they have to legally be turned over to the state as abandoned property. the guy is a brat and doesn't like me guess he'll like me less now :confused3. Off to spread gravel (with the tractor).

I'm back - thanks for your good wishes!

The neurologist says I'm doing very well and don't really need to come back to see her any more - can just keep going to my regular primary care doc. She says it could take 3-6 more months for "all" of my pre-crash cognitive/attention abilities to return. But, the good news is that she believes it will all eventually come back. Just will take (more) time...

So, my afternoon continues...teacher visit soon, then to take care of the rodent. (No, not you, Danica, the REAL rodent!!!:rotfl2:)

Tonight - SWAPS!

Christy - I didn't really understand your post about the gravel...but good luck! Sounds like quite a project! (I think I'd prefer to feed the rat...)

Pam short story is a few years ago we got some gift certificates to a local gravel pit ( remember were on the nh/vt line) and the pit is in NH well in NH gc's are not allowed to expire if the value is under 100 and if over 100 dollars then the money is turned over to the state as unclaimed property. He might be able to get away with it because they were a donation to an auction so there for the pit got no money (but used it on their taxes as such I'm sure. Either way I need the gravel and I had asked him over the past 4 years 2-3 times a year to deliver it and he never had. this guy is a jerk and doesn't like me so I thought it best to let our friend who is the truck driver deal with him. If the anser is still no I could be a real witch and go above him in the company and push the fact that he never had it delivered and go with that.

we have a long flat between our house and the father in laws house that needed gravel that is what started the whole process. smacking head on wall again.:headache:

Thanks for the vote of confidence.. however, the goof of a coach told her at noon today that she didn't need to attend the meet.. because he thought the girl he expected back to school by 2pm from a convention would be back. However, she had not yet returned when the bus was pulling out at 4pm... (several kids texted her to find out where she was...they are all mad that he told her he didn't need her when infact they desperately need her today.. ;()

Jennifer, I had the same reason as you why DD was plucking my nerves. It continued today but I directed it toward others. pirate:

My to do list:

Write in DD's communication book
Load of darks in the wash, dryer
Load of whites in the wash
Caffeinate
Work
Schedule DD's dentist appt
Go to Staples for odds and ends
Check in with Mom, all is well. :thumbsup2

I'm furious... but you know when their in HS you are supposed to let them fight their battles.. She is..she has a meeting set up w/ the AD tomorrow to discuss! LOL This coach upsets me more because when PJ started running in 6th grade she was the only girl in her grade (still is in XC but not track..anyway)... he made a point to encourage her and tell her how he looked forward to seeing her progress in HS... She started running for him in HS, progressed and then he turned his back on her... ERRRRRRRR

nan that coach needs a good brick up side the head. Hopefully PJ isn't to dissapointed.

Yes, he does need to have his placed back where it was intended to be instead of where it is currently located!!! (got PJ to snicker on that one!)... PJ said it's their lost and if they didn't qualify he can't blame her.. However, she does hope they qualify for the sake of the other 3 girls who are her friends..

I don't understand why the coach decides that one person should run and the other shouldn't attend. Isn't the Track and Field Team a team where all participate? :confused3

Yes, usually it is.. however these state qualifiers aren't... don't ask me.. I'm just as confused as you are... We have like 8 meets this year and only 3 are at home.. so I'll be doing some major traveling this year if I'm able to go w/ the boys' commitments... The kicker is PJ wants to focus on the 2 mile race.. of which she is the ONLY kid willing to run that for either the boys or the girls.. so why not allow her to run it and know that race has a runner who is qualified and loves to run... :headache:

Thanks for all the support, it makes her smile!!!
