I am interested in purchasing one or two single or double inexpensive kayaks for our family. So far I have bought one (single) found on kijiji. I will keep checking kijiji as well as e-bay. I have also e-mailed cottage toys and wild rock outfitters (they rent kayaks so I wonder if they might happen to have any older ones that they want to sell).

Any more ideas as to other web sites, stores etc. I could check would be really appreciated. Canadian Tire sells basic ones for $279 plus tax (single) but hoping to spend a little less then that.

Thanks

Garage Sales! That's where we picked up one of ours. There is also this place- can't remember the name, but it's on Highway 7 just north of Norwood across from Country Time Donuts- just outside of Peterborough. My DH & I were there last year looking at boats and kayaks. They had pretty god prices. Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

I've used Swift canoes and kayaks for years and swear by them. They have a few demo and used sales every year. There isn't one in P-boro this year but there are ones coming up in Toronto, Sudbury, North Bay and Guelph.

Listing of sales events is at http://swiftcanoe.com/events/index.htm

Also, Costco usually carries inexpensive kayaks in the spring.
