This is my first time trying to book our trip to WDW. Went last year using a TA and paying full price for everything. I had not found these boards when we booked. I actually could not imagine going to the same place two years in a row but looks like we are hooked. We are going next year Feb 15th-22nd. I read on mousesavers that there were no codes for those dates last year so I don't expect any this year. Any other ideas to save on hotel. We would like to stay onsite if possible but could do offsite if the savings were great enough. We are AAA members. There will be 7 of us this year. 4 adults and 3 children. Any help would be appreciated.

I just booked at the All-Star Movies the week before (Feb. 8-15) and got a room rate of $69.98 (tax included) with our AAA discount. They may offer you a discounted rate on the week your looking at. These AAA discount rates just came out, so their still may be some left. May be something to check on!!!

We were there this year 2/15-2/23 and used an AMEX code and got POR for $109 a night including tax. The Disney Club also offered a 15% discount at the Values & Moderates and 10% discount at the Deluxes, so don't give up hope! ~:D~

Feb 13th the value resorts switch from value season striat to peak season, if at all possible change your vacation to start on or before feb 12th. If you can do it your entire stay will be charged at the rates you check in at. I'm going to guess thats easier said than done but if you could....

(I'll assume 2 rooms at the All Stars for 7 nights)

PEAK SEASON
7 nights at $109/night = $763 x 2 rooms = $1526. Plus 12% tax =$1709.12

VALUE SEASON
7 nights at $77/night =$539 x 2 rooms = $1078. Plus tax =$1207.36

A savings of $501.76...

Add in a discount which should be easy in the value season...

At 20% off. $968.88 or a saving of $740.24 from your orig. cost.
At 30% off. $845.15 or a saving of $863.97 ( 1/2 price)

Thanks for all the info. We actually have changed our dates to Jan18th-25th. This is the same time we went last year. Of course last year we used a TA and paid rack rate. We were mixed up in the POFQ closing. Our TA wouldn't even try to switch us to a different resort. Her motto was wait and see. Now of course we booked CBR and the next day found it was closing. I don't think we have the best luck with resorts. CBR should be open (fingers crossed) in Jan though. Again thanks for all the info. I'm sure I will have more questions.

I see you are from Missouri also, are you flying or driving? Just wondering?

We are flying I think. Haven't purchased tickets yet as rates are a little high. I don't think I could stand to drive with 3 young children. Also I would be worse than the kids as I don't sit still very well. The air fare so far is about $300.00 per person so hopefully it will go down a little. If a big problem arises in the Middle East we may have to cancel. How are you liking the Missouri summer? Will we ever see temp in the 80s again?
