View Full Version : It's going to be an interesting morning for DH

We have no water this morning for some reason. In a few minutes, I'm calling the apartment office to go "what's going on?" because we paid our bill and I don't see anyone out there working on anything.
For me, that's no big deal. I don't use much water in the morning, and I grew up in a place where you do everything you can to conserve water. So I just grabbed an old (day or two) bottle of water that was lying around and used it for my morning routine with no problem.
DH on the other hand uses a ton at the sink every morning, then takes his shower, then needs his water for coffee and for doing dishes...
Going to be interesting.

Apartment finally opened so I could call them and find out what's going on. Apparently there was some kind of repair that needs to be done and no one was given any warning. They turned the water back on for about 45 minutes (until 9:45), but when we turned on the sink it was flowing brown. (Have I mentioned I hate Houston? Water isn't *brown* most of the time in New Mexico) I left before it was running clear.
They claim the water will be back on entirely by about 2 or 3. I hope so, because *my* time for using water is the evening so if it's not back on, I may be spending the night at my parents  :p

Good luck. My parents have well water. We had lots of bouts of no water growing up because the well would malfunction. It was rough. I love water, I love showers/baths with fresh water.

Hate to tell you Rajah, but when I live in NM the water flowed brown :( Guess there can be problems wherever you live.
Hope they get the water working again soon :)

Kath -- maybe it's just where I was in NM, and I can't honestly say I've been somewhere there just after the water was turned back on. :)
Kev -- kinda hard to do when I already *used* that to flush before realizing we had no water :o
Supposedly it's back on now. We'll see when I get home. If not, we'll be spending the night at my parents'

I keep my hurricane water supply all year. I really stocked up on non-drinking water when I had a tub faucet leak last week. I hate to waste.

Well, it was running clean again tonight, so apparently they fixed whatever the problem was.
