View Full Version : Can you really not do anything before 8 months in advance?

We would like to plan a VR for October 2011. I called the Disney wedding line and they told me I cannot do anything until 8 months prior. Not even talk to someone about it. Is this true? It took me 1 1/2 years to plan my original wedding, how do you plan a destination wedding in 8 months?


We will be there in May and I was hoping to sit down with someone and go over things and find out what is possible to do.

Do you want a wishes or escape wedding? I know for my wishes wedding I called at the 11 month mark and the reserved our locations the at the 8 month mark you sign the LOA. Between the 6-4month mark you go in for your planning session.

For an Escape you really can't book until 8 months out. And DFTWs really won't even meet with you prior to that.

If you wanted a Wishes wedding you could have a site visit at 18-12 months out, reserve your locations at 12 months and then sign your contract at 8 months.

I called back and specified that I wanted a wishes VR and they were MORE than helpful. They took all my information and are going to have a constultant call me back. They told be that I could do a site visit when I am there in May. So excited!:cool1:

The first girl I talked to never asked if I wanted escape or wishes so she must have just assumed escape?

Yes, you can definitely have a site visit when you go in May. They will also provide you with a folder that has sample menus and sample wedding budgets.
