We had a great time! It was just my 2 little girls, ages 5 and 9 since my husband is deployed.

We drove in that horrible hurricane, took us forever but we made it. :yay: At one point we had to stop because an entire tree was in the middle of the road and we waited for the fire department to come and saw it and move it. We live in Germany and this happened in Belguim. I took a picture of it too! I got a few strange looks. :rotfl:

We check in and head to the information desk to make dinner reservations. The lady next to me was NUTS! She was first getting a bit nasty, then she lost it. She started to scream and yell, more screaming. It was all in French so I didn't underastand what she was yelling about but then all of a sudden she picks up an entire brocure packet and throws it as hard as she could at the employee!! They called security on her. She walked away, walked back, screamed some more. She was a mess! This was at the Santa Fe hotel.

The hotel was ok. It did it's job. LOL I found the room to be really hard to find. Turn out we stayed in a building with 2 different building numbers and we just couldn't figure it out. The map doesn't show that buildings can have 2different numbers.

We got there at 4:30pm, threw our luggage in and headed for the park! This is my 3rd trip and the castle still amazes me. :wizard: My 9 year old wanted to ride Space Mountain all by herself since my little one couldn't go on it. I waited and waited at the exit or what I thought was the exit. This poor child got lost and she found me but she was hysterical by this time. I felt so horrible! A little of that popcorn made her feel better along with lost of hugs and loves. We also ate at Annette's dinner. Maybe it was just me because I'm an American but I didn't like the food all that much, and the service was really slow. I didn't dare order the Philly cheesesteak since I'm actually from Philly and I knew it would never measure up to the cheesesteaks that I ate at home! :rotfl:

Second day we went to Disneyland Park again. We also ate at Cafe Mickey and the kids and I LOVED it! We saw so many characters, we ordered a pizza and some appetizer with motzarella cheese and tomatos. It was so good, very fast service, and in 45 minutes we saw about 6 characters, ate, took lots of pictures and still had some time left over! I used my hald baord vouchers and I even got a drink with alcohol and didn't have to pay anything! The kids got a cute little toy and even at 21, I mean 31 years old :lmao: I love seeing the characters. It was a ton of fun and it's now going to be a staple in my future trip to DLP.

Third day we went to Disneyland Studio's. The Disneyland park is my favorite though. We saw Animagic, one of my favs. We rode some rides but the kids wanted to go back to the other park so we did. We rode POC a million times and my personal favorite, Small World a few times too. Then I drove 5 hours home, I was exhausted by the time we got back.

On an off subject note, the night we got home, I got a call from my dogsitter that my 12 year old retired military working dog was sick and I had to go get her that night. I adpoted her about 3 months ago and it's not looking good for her. She served the US military well and I think it's about her time to pass. She's been to war 3 times and protects the girls and I with everything in her. Unfortuantly her hips are giving out, she's in a lot of pain and won't get off the couch.

We had such a great time and I can't wait until my husband comes home so that we can go as a family!!! :yay:

Welcome back and so glad you had a good time with your girls!! Thanks for sharing!:cheer2: I'll be staying at the Santa Fe when I go - goodness I hope all goes smoothly - it must be really hard to be a CM sometimes dealing with really upset people. How do they do it?:littleangel:

I filled out a survey on the hotel stay and it asked about an outstanding CM. They are all so nice but I did fill out that that particular CM was outstanding for never losing her cool, taking it all without flintching and that the CM was still nice after all of that. She really scared my 5 year old. If I knew French I would have politly told her to calm down please because she was scaring my child.

I used to work in customer service and I would hold my cool too and then go cry in the back. LOL

I just heard from the vet, apparently my old dog will be ok for now. :woohoo: She doesn't have much life left in her though. She's a great puppy.

Glad you had a great time, apart from that scary lady at check-in. The poor CM. I'm the same with character meals, I always say I will still be going to them even when I'm old and hobbling in with the help of a zimmerframe! :rotfl:

It's good that your dog is OK  just 3 days after we got back from our last trip to WDW our eldest dog who's only just turned 11 got sick and I really thought we were going to lose her. Luckily she's made a full recovery but I really feared the worst. :wizard: :wizard: that you get a few more happy years from yours. :wizard: :wizard:

I'm glad that you had a lovely time with your daughters, despite the nightmare journey & checkin. I'm so jealous that you only 5 hours drive away, I'd be there all the time if I lived that close. I hope your husband comes home soon so you can all go back together.

Sounds like a great trip. I was fortunate to visit DL Paris in 08 and am excited to return again as my husband is getting 6 month orders to Ramstein AB. Sorry to hear about your dog, my German Shepherd has a degenerative disc in her back and can hardly walk. I feel your pain.

My dog got her blood results back, she seems to have either kidney failure or a kidney infection. I had to take a urine sample. It was interesting as I was in my pink Mickey pajamas in the cold outside at 6:30am! I'm glad your dog has a loving home. :) Deciding to put a dog down or not is not as easy as I thought it would be.

Ramstein is about an hour away from me! I live at Spangdahlem AB, much smaller and we go to Ramstein often for the new mall there. Will you go with him? Let me know if you have any questions about Germany, just message me and I'll give you my e-mail. :)

Now to figure out how to get my camera working...I want to post pics. My kids were thrilled and my 9 year old told me that she feels more alive in Disney then another place!!

What a suportive bunch of people here!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for everything!!!!!

I have a few questions about Eurostar if anyone reads this. How long does it take from the UK? Do you go on a a train underground? I feel really dumb and I can't start a new thread (I doub't I'll ever take it myself) but I'm interested in those from the UK nd how they get to DLP. Where does it drop you off at? If anyone could explain, I would really appreciate it. :lmao:

havent been yet myself, but from what ive read, it takes about 2hrs to get to disney if you get the direct train, and about 3hrs if you get the train with 1 change. the eurostar takes you direct to disneyland. and whether you get on the eurostar and your underground staright away i have no idea, but i shall find out in september! i think it starts as a normal station above ground and then obviously goes underground later. how long we're underground for i dont know!

she has had a couple. she knows i will just leave if she does. its getting better now, i just have to remind her to use her words and once she can get out what is wrong with her i can diffuse the situation. at least i wont have to worry about that in disney :rotfl:
