Oakland airport and Luggage

So on our way to Disneyland and WDW we are planing a one day stop over at Oakland and going to go and see Alcatraz. Our plan Is to land In Oak In the Morining and fly out that same day,that night. I am looking at takeing a taxi to Fishermans wharf and spending the day down there. The only problem I see Is our luggage,can we hold our luggage at the airport?. If not we might have to nix the side trip we can not drag our luggage around:scared1:. So any Oak experts here? maybe offer some good advice?.

Suggestion: A rental car would probably be cheaper than a taxi, and you could leave your luggage in the trunk.

From Oakland to Fisherman's Wharf I always use BART. Cheaper than a cab, and pretty quick.

That doesn't answer your luggage question, although you can take a bag on the train with you.

From Oakland to Fisherman's Wharf I always use BART. Cheaper than a cab, and pretty quick. BART doesn't go to Fisherman's Wharf - how do you get from Market St to FW? I can think of the F trolley (http://streetcar.org/maps.html), Cable car from Powell/Market, and of course a cab ride (much shorter/cheaper than from OAK).

I get off BART at the embarcadero and just walk a few blocks. It's a nice walk along the waterfront.
