tonight we emptied our spare change and single dollar jar.. we saved from last august to now and the amount is ..............$1348. 63 that will almost pay for annual premium passes the 4 of us. We are DVC and we cook most of our meals (easy ones). and always snack for one meal a day , eat out maybe 3 times at charecter meals. Since DS is going to Epcot with his Middle School/ High School marching band at Easter.... and we are going to WDW next summer and maybe a surprise trip with DW in the winter the only money we "put out" is to get down there. We like to use the Auto Train./ fly if fares are cheap or if DW gets over her fear to fly. Or we drive. So we " put out " like 2000 bucks for 4 vacations. So start saving those coins and singles!!!!

Congratulations on saving so much money! I have spare change banks too. I usually empty them out when I am really cutting it close on the rent. I usually collect around $100 at a time.

Congratulations! We always do this too. We are very careful not to spend any change. If it costs $1.25 the $.75 change goes in the jar. We don't save single dollars though, so our take for a year is about $800. We also use this for our APs. It sure is a painless way to save!

We don't have a spare change jar, but we do have a $5/overtime jar. Each week DH and I each put $5 in a jar and if we earn any extra money it goes into the jar. It adds up quickly. This is how we are going to Disney this year.

DH put a couple hundred aside from working overtime.
DS has disney dollars from birthdays, valentines day, easter, etc
Ive been going to the disney store every month and charging $100 for disney dollars
I just counted - and so far we have $700 for the

DISNEY MAGIC Eastern Caribbean Cruise in Nov

Another 100 disney dollars in aug, sept & oct will make $1,000

We have a change jar that we need to count up soon. I don't think we will get to much this time though. We had to use about $100 out of it to pay some bills at the beginning of the year but there is still some in there so now I really want to countit!!!!

I just started a change jar last month. I haven't used change since then. :) In addition, I am having $50 per paycheck automatically deducted into a savings account ($1300 a year). I'm surprised at how much I have in so little time and it is painless, fun even!! Anytime I get change back, I know that is Mickey Money. :teeth: :teeth:
