What's the best way to book a pre- AND post-cruise stay?

I'm looking at staying a few days before and a couple of days after the cruise. The best way I can figure out how to do it is to get a full package for the first part, but buy a couple of extra days on the park tickets. Then for the second part I would just pay for the hotel and pay for food out of pocket. Does anyone else have a better idea?
