just wondered which table service would you guys recommend for 3.5 yr old toddler and 8 months old baby?i have not been to any table service before at dlp (i know its sad..) so not sure how are they. i prefer the restaurant that is not too crowded as will probably need to bring my tandem buggy along to the restaurant just in case if ds2 is sleeping during our meal time. and also is table service quite formal?

i have shortlisted couple of table service that we might go:

1.cafe mickey- i think is a must. probably go for thursday dinner

2.walts-planning to book either friday or saturday dinner time (so that can just watch the parade from the restaurant)-but this restaurant looks quite formal, its that the case? is it suitable for toddler and baby?

3.blue lagoon-is this restaurant crowded?from the photos i saw the place can be quite dark.

4. annettes-looks like very informal table service. like it.

any other suggestions?

I've not been with a child but have eaten in all the restaurants you've mentioned.

Cafe Mickey & Annettes would be great for kids. The tables are well spaced and it's bright in there.

Blue Lagoon is dark inside. It's possibly the best themed restaurant in the resort but I didn't like the food. If your kids don't like the dark, they probably wont like it!

Walts is nice but probably not somewhere I'd take a toddler. I'm not sure you'd want to drag your pushchair up the stairs!

I'm visiting in August for the first time with a toddler (12months) and I've been trying to arrange restaurants in my head that I think he'd like. We'll definitely be going to Cafe Mickey, Annettes and probably Rainforest Cafe (but not too close to the gorillas!).

tq for your reply. i also would like to take them to rainforest but have read reviews that although the theme is excellent, they can be quite scary for kids sometimes. that kind of put me off (although ds1 is a fan of go diego go i don't know if thats will change the whole story..:rotfl:)

i am sure more DISers mummys and daddys can help us on this. HTH:goodvibes

I'm pretty sure Walts has a lift.
At almost all table service restaurants you're likely to have to leave your buggy in the place allocated at the front of the restaurant.
Cafe Mickey should be fine.
Blue Lagoon - yes it's quite dark and the kids' food choice is quite bizarre.
Annettes would work.
Walts - yes it's more formal but they are well used to having children there, it is Disney after all. They will provide a little colouring pack.
Rainforest - can be a bit scary for little ones. Only you know your child and if they are likely to be scared. My DD hated the thunder.

We ate in the Blue Lagoon and Cafe Mickey with our just turned one year old dd last year. It was no problem. You do have to leave the pushchair near the entrance. I don't know how this would work with a sleeping child though. We also are in the Rainforest Cafe in London on the same visit. We're palnning to eat in Walt's, Annette's and Cafe Mickey on our on or next trip (next week hurrah!). To be honest I would expect all the restaurants to be set up for families, given that Disney is inevitably a family holiday choice

Sorry I had missed the fact that your youngest might be sleeping in the buggy. Naturally then you couldn't leave them at the front in the buggy! Of course, in this situation the restaurant staff would do their best to accomodate you but DLRP restaurants often are crowded, and couldn't necessarily be relied upon to fit a tandem buggy in easily - you might well need to wait longer for a suitable table to come up if this was necessary.

last october we went with a 1 year old who was asleep when we arrived at the auberge. there was no problem with leaving him asleep in his buggy next to us at the table, but wherever you go make sure you say this is a possibility both when you book and as soon as you arrive so they can allocate tables accordingly.

We took out son to Annettes and Cafe Mickey last year when he was nearly 3. He loved Annettes, especially when they were signing and dancing to grease.

cafe Mickey was a given with him, and the character interaction was great. It was the best time I had been in there when Goofy was dancing on the part in the middle that seperates the upstairs.

2.friday lunch -at the park
friday dinner-walts or annettes

3.saturday lunch-at the park
saturday dinner-cafe mickey

4.sunday-bruch at the steakhouse (if they can accept hb+ i am going to ask
before i add on hb+ ). if not probably go for agrabah
