I am preparing for my Oct. 31 cruise on the Wonder. I have a few questions, and if someone could answer them I would greatly appreciate it.

The night before the cruise our flight will not arrive in Orlando until 11:30 PM. Does anyone know of a good hotel to stay in for the night before the morning of the cruise...it needs to be close to the terminal because we have Disney transfers!?!?

The flight after the cruise it at 12 noon. Do you think this is too much of a rush or will we have enough time to get to the flight gate?!? We are using Disney transfers to go to the airport from the ship.

Thank you for your help! :)

There is a hotel right at the airport. I think it's a Hyatt. Hopefullly, someone who has stayed there can confirm. DCL often used this hotel to house passengers who booked air thru them and arrived a day early.

A noon time departure on the return should be fine. Just make sure you get off the ship promptly. We cruised with DCL twice, and both times we got to the airport hours before our noon flight out.

I would suggest the Hyatt too- Especially if you are arriving that late. Although we did stay at a Radisson at the airport several years ago and they provided free transfers from the airport to the hotel, and then a transfer back to the airport in the morning so that my husband could pick up a rental car.
The Hyatt would certainly be more convenient.

I saw an online price for the Hyatt of $129

I too, would recommend the Hyatt. Just make sure to tell them when you check in that you will be departing for the cruise in the morning, and then they will give you a letter explaining times, and where to report for the next morning...When we stayed there, our bus was the first to hit the port!

Thanks for that information! We are also staying at the Hyatt when we fly in the day before and taking the Disney busses over to the port. We booked it all as a package after doing some checking and discovered from our location we couldn't save much. DH likes to know it is all handled by Disney.

Could you clarify one other thing please? When we booked the CM mentioned we'd need to claim our bags at the airport. Do we then check everything in at the port terminal or is there another procedure?

I booked our Hyatt separate, so we did have to claim our luggage at the airport and haul it over to the Hyatt. It may be possible to get a porter to help you with your luggage if you need help. You need to take your bags to your room, and then the letter they give you at check in explains what time to set out your bags in the morning for pickup. You should tag your bags with the tags that will come in your cruise documents before placing them in the hall. If i am remembering correctly, bags must be in the hall no later than 8:30 a.m.

As for when you arrive at the hotel, I recall a thread that says that when you check in you can ask the hotel to pick it up.

When we stayed there we picked up the luggage, just wanted to make sure we got all our bags :D, and brought it to the hotel. Once in the hotel there are bell hops to help.

As for the next day, when you check in, tell the front desk that you are on DCL. The bell hop will pick your bags up the next morning, (don't forget the tag) and you head for the bus. Your bags will be in the stateroom on the ship.

Have fun...

Here's another vote for the airport Hyatt; with that late an arrival, I wouldn't want to have to go anywhere else. The hotel is incredibly convenient (no need to go outside at all) and very comfortable. When you check in, just identify yourself as a DCL guest, and they'll give you an envelope letting you know what time to put your luggage out and what time to be in the lobby for bus transfer check in. We did this with a large group of people who arrived on 6 different flights and it went incredibly smoothly!

Also try Expedia for a possible discounted rate on the Hyatt.
