View Full Version : The nicest surprise about our new puppy!

Friday night we picked up our new puppy. He is a seven week old yellow lab named Doc. He's a beautiful puppy and seems to be healthy and fitting in quite well with our family. We lost our 11yo beloved black lab Hank in March to cancer. We were ready again to love another dog and DH is ready to train another for duck hunting.

I'll be sending a pic to Dan when I get them back so he can post it (I don't know how).

Last night the people we bought little Doc from brought over the pedigree papers for us. We were outside talking and they took a look at our dog house (which has a porch, attic and smoke detector ;) . They went home and we were tired and went on to bed. Tonight I picked up the pedigree papers for Doc and was SHOCKED to read that Hank is Doc's great grandfather on Doc's mother's side!! Hank had a little wedding and honeymoon way back in 1993 which we almost forgot about! Keith and I were so surprised that we "by chance" found this puppy. This puppy is like a little gift from God to us saying our Hank lives on...
(mushy, I know. But that is what I believe and I'm sticking to it. :D )

That is so sweet Brenda, I hope you don't make that poor puppy listen to the Beach Boys though... :eek:

Awww that is so sweet and so amazing. Glad to hear Hank lives on in Doc :)

Well, that sure is neat, Bren. :) God has sent you a bit of Hank in Doc, to continue the great times you guys had in the past. That is really nice, and thanks for sharing.

I will be looking forward to the pictures from you, Bren. :sunny:

WOW! That is such a nice story and yes Hank will live on through your new puppy! Congratulations and best wishes for a long and healthy life for Doc!:)

Thanks to you all who let me share my excitement about this tonight! We are thrilled!

Had to post to let kejoda know there is NOTHING wrong with The Beach Boys. LOL It is a running joke between Princess Michelle and me. She doesn't care for some of their songs and I adore their music. :) She's young... she'll change her mind. ;)
