No. Dining Plan can only be booked as part of a Magic Your Way Package or as an add-on to a Passholder Room Discount or a Disney Vacation Club reservation.

The latest you can add Dining Plan I believe is 72 hours prior to your trip, but if you have a room-only ressie, you will have to have that ressie cancelled and rebook as a package.

You can add park tickets, but not dining. the latest dining can be added is 3 days before your day of arrival. sorry!

You wouldn't want to add the DDP that early anyways as you would have a very limited selection on restaurants, as most people do their ADR's 6 monthis in advance. I do mine in 20 days for our Sept trip!!!!
Unless you did the QSDP.

No, it isn't, as you must have a package with dining booked no later than 3 days before you arrive. If you buy tickets when you arrive that does not make the reservation a package.

Only DVC members can add DDP without a package reservation, and even they can't add the plan at check-in, it must be on the reservation at least 2 days before arrival.

This is simply NOT TRUE. "Most people" do NOT make their ADRs 6 months in advance. A few people do. FWIW, I already have the resevrations that I want. I have been there 3 times in the past 24 months and my trip next week will make a 4th. I have made reservations the day of. I have also made reservations a few weeks in advance. In only one case have I EVER been turned away and that was le Cellier. I have also walked into Boma, Trails End, and Chef's De France WITHOUT an ADR. I would not want to make a reservation for New Years Eve the day of.

I simply asked a question about adding a dining plan. I got an answer.

Last trip, my wife and I did not have the dining plan and it was actually liberating. I was just curious.

 Excuse her for trying to help. Geez! you will find here on the DIS that most people do make their ADRs 180 days in advance.

Thanks guys! :lovestruc

Here on the DIS boards you will find that when you post a thread you will not only get a straight answer to your question but fellow DISers will also share opinions, suggestions, alternatives, etc... We are all here to share in the love of WDW and help each other have the most magical time we can.

I understand that I'll have to book the dining plan with my reservation before we go. Is the Deluxe plan worth it? It is only going to be me and my wife and our 18 month old.

I wouldn't do Deluxe Dining with an 18 month old. In order to make the expense of Deluxe Dining somewhat of a value, you would need to book a lot of TS meals, signature meals and/or dinner shows. That is a lot of time taken up by sitting in rest....I don't think that would work well with a little one. If you want to do a dining plan, I would definately look at the regular dining plan. :)

I am not tip toing away. I would bet that the total membership of Disboards is less than a busy days attendance at MK. When I hear most people, I do not hear most people who are Dis members. I have never booked a Disney vacation 6 months in advance. There is no need. I go to Disney because I do not have to think about it and spend a lot of time planning. It is a vacation for my brain. I realize that many of the people on here spend months planning just the perfect Disney experience. I guess they think that is fun. I do not think you need to spend that much time planning a Disney trip because it is hard to have a bad time there.

The poster that I jumped on made it sound like the majority of the people on the Disney property on a busy day have made ADRS 6 months to the day before the arrive. I bet that less than 2% of the people on dining on Disney property made an ADR more than 5 months in advance. I would also bet that 90% of the room reservations are made less than 6 months from arrival. I am sure those numbers are skewed for the people onm DIS.

I say relax! Let your Disney experience be what it is. DO not obsess years in advance. It will be fun what ever happens.

Disney loves it when people plan months and months in advance because they get your money sooner. IT also allows to to plan staffing and expansion better. I for one don't think they should get their money that far in advance.

I have listened to the DVC presentation. That is a perfect example. The program guarantees them revenue each year into the future. Why would ANYONE buy new shares of DVC when the shares are available MUCH MUCH cheaper on the secondary market? That is unless you want to finance your shares at 15% per year.

My last trip was planned less than 2 weeks before we went. We were upgraded to a Savanna View room at AKL. We ate at Boma 4 times. We also ate at Chef's de France during the fireworks. We went with the flow and had a great time. Unless you want to eat at the Chef's table at V and A, 6 month reservations are not necessary.

Just get yourself down there. Tha magic will take care of the rest.

I am leaving for my next trip a week from Saturday. This trip we are taking our motorhome to the Fort. It will be our 3rd trip to the Fort. If we don't have reservations, we just cook at the motorhome. I am going to pick up some prime dry-aged ribeyes from a butcher up here in case we cannot get in to Yachtsmans.

Don't worry be happy.

We would also LOVE to book DxDP but are in the same boat as you, traveling this year w/ a 3yr old & 10 month old and I cannot imagine my children sitting for that much time everyday. My DD is pretty good about going to restaurants back at home but to have at least 2TS a day at WDW is asking the impossible.
Regular DDP for us it will be.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant I was tip toeing away. I was refering to the little smiley guy that should have been going the other way, not you. :rolleyes1

I just read your last post and honestly, I still have absolutely no idea why you felt in necessary to jump down the throat of someone who was just trying to help.
It sounds like you have a plan that works for you. Enjoy your trip.
