We are going in October and my husband is interested in playing golf, but won't pay Disney high prices. Does anyone know of a good, pretty course off-site nearby with reasonable prices? Thanks for sharing.

Hi...we play a lot of golf in Orlando, so here are some ideas....first of all Disney has some pretty good prices for afternoon specials...be sure to check on them....40 to 60 dollars for thier courses.....If you have transportation and he doesn't mind about a 20 minute drive, Southern Dunes south on 27 at Haines City is a great golf course......Either course at Orange County National, about a 15 minute drive from Disney is excellent.....If you don't want a long drive from Disney area, Falcon's Fire is good, but not cheap as is Celebration......I think he would enjoy any of these courses....they are excelllent...ted

And for real local courses at real local prices try :

Kissimmee Golf Club
Kissimmee Oaks Golf Club
St Cloud Golf Club
Highlands Reserve
Swiss Fairways in Clermont

No sure what "real" local courses means..I have been to most of these courses and the ones I suggested are just as "real" as the others...you know grass, sand, water, and all that stuff!!!..as for prices, they may be a less, but there are good golf bargains in October at many courses....If you are from out of town and spouse would like one round of golf on a really beautiful highly rated golf course, I would stick with my list....Kissimmee Bay is a very nice course...I really was not that impressed with Hamilton Reserve, St. Cloud and Clermont will be longer drives and I have not played Swiss Fairways or St Cloud.....Kissimmee Oaks was pretty rough when I played it several years ago.....good luck....Ted

Ted,
It was a bit tongue in cheek ! Celebration and Falcon's are both expensive courses in my opinion and whilst deals are to be had in the Summer, I really don't think that a round of golf should cost that amount of money ! Having said that Pebble Beach charges $350 plus cart fee !

Have to say we really are spoilt for choice in this area. Over a 100 courses in a hours drive and half of those in 20 mins ! A good idea is to pick up one of the golf guides from one of the ticket / golf shops.

Happy golfing and if ever you need someone to play with.....I can usually fit it in ;)
