I was just curious if we HAD to purchase the dinning plan for our 3 year od twins if my husband and I want it.
They would NEVER eat that much food...NO...I'm not asking because I want to just share, I'm asking because it's easier to get them a fruit cup and fries than have to get them full meals...If that makes any sense...

The dining plan must be applied to everyone in your party. In other words, everyone on the same reservation who requires park tickets (i.e., everyone age 3 and up) must all be on the same dining plan or not at all.

I think we paid $10.99/day for my son's DDP. It was worth it. Chef Mickey's breakfast buffet charges $12.99 for kids, so if you were thinking about any character meals, you'd be ahead.

I found the DDP (1TS, 1CS, 1 snack) to be So worth it for my little guy! The cost of paying OOP for a TS pays for the dining plan alone. Then you get the CS and snack!

Remember, if you plan buffets, you can't share with them anyway, DDP or not. You will pay around $12 plus tax average for each of them and that is just one of the three meals a day, 2 of which are covered by the dining plan. They also get snacks.
The kids portions aren't huge. Probably too much for a three year old, but nothing ridiculous.

what you can do is to use some of the kids CS credits for breakfasts that you could all share. Then use the snack credits for fruit and fries if you want for the lighter meal of the day for them. If you do that, I am sure you would want them to have a good meal for the day at the TS you choose.

I didn't think about using the snck credits for breakfast and such.

You had to either all have the plan or not but that doesn't mean you have to order them each meals at CS and TS places (at buffets or family style you will). You could use 1 of their credits for a meal and share it between them - I would think that even 3 y/o's won't be filled with 2 nuggets or half of a kids hamburger, a saucer sized pizza or 1 chicken drumstick. We usually use snack credits for breakfast but since you'd have extra credits, you could use them and share. The snacks can be used for fries, fruit, etc. for an afternoon snack.

The kids' meals are very small...probably just right for a 3 year old. Certainly NOT enough for a 9 year old - THAT's my issue with the kids meals. You show me an 8 or 9 year old who is going to be satisfied by 4 crappy little chicken nuggets! I think your kids will be fine with the dining plan - and it's a good deal for younger kids.

We have that same issue, its fine for DD but DS (8) its not enough, when we talked to the CM about bumping him up to a 10 yr old she said she had the same issue with her 9 year old too, she wished they offered Jr meals and had an in between pice for the 7 to 12 year olds,
we were lucky to get the free dining pin so it only cost us $10 aday to bump him up to the adult plan
