Oh, just wait until the purists see this, they're going to freak out and complain!

You mean all 14 of the Tron fans? You know the definition of a cult classic? The same 14 people watch it over and over.

I figured he was talking about the monorail purists. Or maybe you missed the HUGE debate threads over the new monorail colors? :rotfl2:

You are correct!

Regardless of how popular the new movie turns out to be, this sounds like one of the better "monorail wrap" ideas. Certainly better than the confetti vomit (year of a million dreams), balloons (what will you celebrate), or slobbering Stitch (Stitch's Great Escape).

Just to let you know, I talked to a Disneyland cast member a couple months ago, and he informed me that they will be building a new "Tron Bike" ride on the old people mover track. It is only in the planning stages right now, so it will be at least 2 years before it is built, but it's coming!!

DW and I both think a light cycle wrap to the monorails would be kind of cool if they glowed in the dark. They would look great zooming around the lake at night, glowing across the water...

That reminds me of something. I want to say it was in 2003-04 they had the Transit Authority shut down. They were developing a new ride out of it and were testing these high speed electric go carts that would race through the TA track.
Does anyone remember those things and or know what happened to them or why they were never used? They were really cooking and they looked fun...

Holy crud I was way off! :scared1:
It must have been my trip to DL in like 97. I think at least. The article said the sub ride was closed but it was definitely open when I went. It must have been open right before they finished the rocket ride.
I had no idea that DL was Transit Authorityless for the past 10 years. What a shame.
They were remodeling FL in a gold colored scheme if I remember correctly? This must have been part of a larger overhaul. Have any links about that?
Man I'm getting old, I'll have to look through some pictures...
BTW, thanks

This is probably a better idea than turning the Cinderella Castle into a Birthday cake!
