Hi- my name is April & I am a Disney-holic.:rotfl: I’m 34 & taking a (so far) solo trip from October 4th through the 11th. My birthday is the 12th. I’ll be staying at Yacht Club & I know I will definitely be going to MNSSHP :hmghost:& the Food & Wine Festival :drinking1. Epcot is my favorite park. I want to get to see the new Harry Potter area at Islands of Adventure & haven’t decided whether or not to visit Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. I know I want to spend some time in the pool during this trip. I also want to do something different- like horseback riding at FW or Dolphins in Depth at Epcot. In order to do that, however, I want to lose about 50 pounds. One thing you will notice is that I take WAY too many photos! I took this in the parking lot of Shaw’s (with my phone) on Saturday morning.

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/CIMG0054.jpg

I’m sure I will have many mini-TR’s within this PTR. I am going to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in CT in March with my BF, John & I am meeting my friend in NYC in April. I’m sure we will go somewhere in the summer- maybe even Vegas! (This is Vegas:)
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/VEGAS074.jpg

In the meantime, I am losing my marbles waiting for the park hours for October to come out. :hyper: I usually plan my days around the PM Extra Magic Hours.
I still haven’t booked air- I’m waiting for Southwest & right now they are only booking through August. Car rental prices are outrageous for that week right now, so I am holding off on those.
As far as dining goes, I will DEFINITELY be going to Artist Point & California Grill. Some possible visits will be:
Cape May Café
Donald’s Safari Breakfast
1900 Park Faire (for breakfast)
Brown Derby
Sci-Fi Dine In
Boma
Jiko
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Citricos
The Wave
Sanaa
Kouzzina
I know that’s a long list, but I will narrow it down when the October park hours come out. I feel awfully guilty leaving my dog, Isis, home for a week, but she will be in good hands with my mom. This is Isis in her best Disney gear:

I will post a recent photo of me if I ever let anyone take one. :rolleyes1 Thanks for stopping by!!

Have you ever done Halloween Horror Nights??? If not and you are into scary, you should do it!!!!!!I have down it twice and as someone who hates horror but lets her silly friends talk her into it...it is worth doing once! They have a different theme every year.

Isis is so cute, I love the grumpy hat :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear more and crossing my finger for the park hours:headache:

She definitely is cute! The look on her face with the Grumpy hat says it all.:)
My dog only tolerates that stuff for about a second.
Maybe that would be a new thread to start, "Pets in Disney costumes". :)

I have done HHN before- I liked it a lot, but will definitely get the "express" pass this time. I wonder what the theme will be this year. I have to admit that it scared the heck out of me, too!!! :scared1:

Woohoo!:yay: Thanks for reading, Lisa!

Thanks!! That photo of the sun & clouds makes me think of all of the people I have lost in the past few years. I wish it looked less "blue" & more like it did in person, though.

Uhhh…Has ANYONE ever seen this before?????

Our apologies...

Alamo is completely sold out of vehicles at:

Orlando Intl Arpt from 010/4/2010 to 010/11/2010

That is a first for me!!! And it is a bad sign as far as crowd levels!!!
Well, so far the diet is going ok. I had oatmeal this morning & I had a salad with Boston lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, scallions, sugar snap peas, strawberries & a little bit of feta & cracked black pepper for lunch.

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_3356.jpg

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_3362.jpg

I had lemon tea, 1 cup of white grapefruit juice, 1 bottle of water, and iced coffee with skim milk & 2 splenda, too. I’m not sure what we will do for dinner, but I’ll try to stick with it. I didn’t exercise last night. I used an incident at work as an excuse to not exercise when I should have used it as fuel to make me work harder. I tried to do something to make her life easier & she took it the wrong way. Don’t you hate drama?? Someone I work with blows everything WAY out of proportion because she thinks she is queen of the world. It is getting a little unbearable, so I am avoiding her like the plague today.:tiptoe:
Anyhoo…back to the rental cars…at Orlando International AND Sanford airports, the rental cars are over $300 for the week for an economy! That is too pricey for me. I know I usually get a car for $200. So I guess my “plan” is to wait until the last minute & if I get a car, I get one. If I don’t, I don’t. I’m also very impatiently waiting for Southwest to come out with October airfare.
I’m also excited to be going to NYC in April. I’m meeting my friend, Sarah (who is from Scranton, PA) there on the 16th & coming home the 18th. I’m taking the Acela train from Providence. It will be a 2 hour & 55 minute ride. I’m hoping to meet up with my friend, Renata (she lives in NYC & works for Comedy Central), too. We plan to see the Tim Burton exhibit at MoMA (http://www.moma.org/interactives/exhibitions/2009/timburton/) & try out a few restaurants…and SHOP! I need a new purse, so I will be going to Canal Street. I have a few photos from my last trip:

And from 2002:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/SOL-1.jpg

New York is a blast, but the last trip nearly killed me! I'm too old to stay out until 3am now. :rolleyes1 I had SUCH fun at the comedy club & all of the places we went. I had no idea how nice Brooklyn is! I’m also going to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods (http://www.mgmatfoxwoods.com/index.aspx) next week with John. I won’t be able to take a ton of photos, but I will take what I can & have a full report on craftsteak (http://www.mgmatfoxwoods.com/Craftsteak.aspx) for you!

I have three pieces of advice
1. As I ran into the same problem the week between Christmas and New Year's- Hotwire a car...if you never have, it is easy and as long as you don't care what you get it is the cheapest way I found. Once you put your dates in even if you don't buy you can Track the dates and they will let you know when the price goes down. If you want any Hotwire tricks let me know

2. Buy an Express pass for both HHN and for anydays you are going to be at Universal because it makes life so much easier- You might want to look into the cost of an annual pass as depending on if you do a couple of days at US it gives you a discount on your HHN ticket AND your HHN express pass but not your normal express pass and it gives you a Discount on food

3. There is a cookbook called Hungry Girl 200 under 200 I started watching what I eat about 1 month ago and this might be the BEST thing I have ever invested in.I like it so much, I went out and bought the other Hungry girl cookbook- everythign is easy to make once you buy some of the basics!!! I can't say enough good things about it !!

Anyway that is my 3 cents even though you didn't ask :woohoo:

PS - Ignore your co worker and keep smiling :yay:

Thanks for all of the info! I was considering Hotwire- now I am definitely going to check there.
I usually only do one day at Universal/IOA, so I probably won't get an annual pass. I definitely will be getting the Express pass, though!
As for Hungry Girl- I subscribe to that blog! :rotfl: I looked up that book & I am going to get it. Thanks again! :thumbsup2 I love the blog, so I am sure I will love the book, too.
Oh...and I did completely stay away from the drama yesterday and she made a comment. I just don't like it how people are always talking about other people behind their backs around here. I am a big fan of being up-front!

Elvis (my favorite of the bunch):
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/Elvis.jpg

I thought they looked pretty good over all- except a few didn’t really look like who they were supposed to. Johnny Depp doesn’t look enough like the real one. I was there in July 2008 & it was SO hot. In fact- I almost passed out at the Hoover Dam because it was 107 degrees. I might post more Vegas photos tomorrow if I can.
Last night I did so-so on dinner. I got a sandwich with cheese, tofurkey (not as bad as it sounds- it is NOTHING like tofu), onions, avocado, and cranberry mayo- which was most likely about 600 calories…BUT I was good in getting sugar snap peas instead of fries. Today so far I ate the other half of my sandwich & an apple. I have vegetable soup for dinner tonight- I will still be at work. Thursdays are my LONG days. Monday through Wednesday I work 7:30am until 4pm, Thursday is 7:30am-7:30pm, and Friday is 7:30am-11:30am. The only bad part is that I have an hour drive each way. So Thursday I get home at about 8:45pm & I am exhausted by the end of the night. :faint: Well, I have to get off of my behind & start exercising. I got my Ab Circle Pro in the mail & I want to try it- I just have to put it together first! :scared1: That will be my Friday afternoon project. I hope everyone has a great day!

I got a DNA test done for Isis & it said her primary breed is "unidentifiable" and her secondary was American Staffordshire Terrier. What breed is Dakoda? That's so funny that you say that about the blanky- Isis has a pig that no one can mess with:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/IMG_2145.jpg

She puts the foot in her mouth & kneads on it like a cat! :rotfl:

Thanks for the good luck on the weight loss- I REALLY need it! It is so hard to lose and so easy to gain. It stinks, too- up until my mid 20's I could eat like a bear preparing for hibernation & I didn't gain weight at all. It was all downhill from there.

And I love the Hungry girl BLOG!!!

Ever since I got the the two cookbooks they are pretty much all I have used. I had to do a little shopping around to find some of her "Standard ingrediants" but now that I have, everything is so easy...

If you get the 200 under 200 try the breakfast cookies, I make them the night before and then have 4 days worth of Breakfast...and since they are grab and go, it makes eating breakfast a lot easier!!!

I took a Vegas photo break & added a photo poll today. Work will be tough today even though it is a short day. I have done 5 versions of the same project because people can't make up their mind on what they want. Plus my eyeballs hurt from staring at this PC 12 hours yesterday! :surfweb: Sorry for complaining. I really do love my job- it is just dealing with other people that hate working here or people that aren't helpful or are outright rude to the residents that make me crazy. Working for a Town is really a customer service job. I like to be as helpful, pleasant & informative as possible because that is what I would want from my Town. Most people here don't think that way, though. It makes me crazy! :headache:
Next week will be my 1 day break to the MGM at Foxwoods, so I'm looking forward to that. This weekend should be uneventful. I am hoping to exercise as much as I can. I am going to assemble my Ab Circle Pro today. I'm also going to check Hotwire.com for a rental car. Have a great day, everyone!

That's funny...we call Cody a Dingo too...sometimes ask her if she ate the babeee...She is around 60 or so...may be more though now because in her old age she likes to laze around more that before but that old lady dog who limps is she sleeps on one side too long sure can take off out the door fast enough is a squirel or bunny is in the back of the yard or if the snow plow or mail truck goes by!!!

Isis is the same way, too, that if she sees any small animal she will take off like a rocket running after it. I can't let her off-leash because there would be no neighborhood cats left!

Well I didn't Dis much the last few days and I missed the whole Hotwire chatter. I have to admit that, at first, I thought we were about to be given a lesson in hotwiring a car. :rotfl2:

Great museum pictures. Very cool!

The castle picture is absoutely beautiful. I can't believe you got that with your point and shoot. It's fantastic.

Thanks! It was pure luck.

Not much is going on with the October Trip yet- I’m just waiting for Southwest to come out with airfare for October & for October park hours to come out. I DID, however, sign up for a price watch on rental cars for that time frame on Hotwire- Thank you, RockinDisney! It is all just a waiting game now, which makes me nutty.

This weekend was a little crazy. I was VERY tired Friday after work & tried to nap. That doesn’t work so well, though, when you have a geriatric Siamese cat who is extremely vocal. John came over & we went to dinner at a steak house with the BEST salad bar around. He gets his steak & I get my salad & half of a cheese quesadilla. Saturday I got up WAY too early because Isis has been waking me up on the weekends- now, she doesn’t wake me up because she wants to go out…she wants an animal cracker. I don’t know why or how this started, but it is making me crazy. I put together my AbCircle Pro & I used it for 35 minutes. It is WAY tougher than it looks! Here it is:

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_3374.jpg

Please excuse the hairy carpet. When you have 2 dogs & a cat you can vacuum every day in the Spring, but the hair magically reappears two minutes later.
So while I was using the machine & watching some horrible tv (“Real Housewives of NYC”- trust me when I say there was NOTHING on), this is what the animals were up to:

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_3366.jpg

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_3368.jpg

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_3372.jpg

I did ok as far as food goes- I had an egg white omelet for breakfast with tomatoes, scallions, and fresh crushed red pepper; a veggie burger for lunch; sugar snap peas & hummus for a snack; about 40 cups of lemon tea; tons of water & crystal light iced tea; and a veggie sub with mustard & cheese for dinner.

Sunday was pretty much the same- I did EA Sports for the Wii for 48 minutes while the animals slept away after littering the house by pulling out every dog toy we have:

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/3layersofsleep.jpg

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/sleepingisis.jpg

I had the same stuff in my omelet for breakfast; Weight Watchers mac & cheese for lunch; more of the same beverages; and I made this enchilada casserole for dinner with black beans, corn, tomatoes, jalapenos, cheese, tortillas, enchilada sauce, and spices. I know it is the healthiest, but it isn’t TOO bad. John ate two bowls of it. I watched the Oscars & fell asleep. What an exciting weekend!

This morning I woke up late. I have my alarm set to “radio” and I must have hit the tuner because it was just static- which did NOT wake me up! I got up 30 minutes late today, so I will work through lunch. I will go home, take a quick shower & change, then John & I are off to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods for craftsteak & blackjack (for him). We’re staying overnight & might go to the Titanic artifact exhibit there the next day.

I'm here, a bit late, but here!

I can't wait to hear all about your plans. I'll be down there at the same time. I'm arriving in Disney on Oct. 1st and staying until the 9th or 10th. Your at least a step ahead of me, because I haven't even picked a hotel yet. The practical side of me is saying just stay at Port Orleans FQ, but the impulsive side wants to stay at BC or BWI because it's one of those big birthdays for me (ending in a zero) at the end of October. I deserve a deluxe on my big 0 birthday right?

I'm going to have to check out those hungry girl cookbooks. I want to lose a bunch of weight before my next trip too.

That is awesome!!! If we're there at the same time, we will have to get together! You SO deserve a deluxe- especially one with Stormalong Bay & within walking distance to Epcot during F & W!
I've been struggling with my weight since I was 23. I had 1 glorious summer as a size 4 out of the past 11 years. Now I am a 16 (as I had been for most of the past 11 years) & I just feel so uncomfortable. I just want to feel good again. I don't have to be a toothpick- I just need to feel healthy & be able to walk without getting winded.

I have been a size 16 for the last two years- I finally decided enough was enough! So about a month ago I started walking and changed the way I eat. It has been the hardest thing I have ever done but I am making it....The true test comes this month as I get back on the road for work! I have found a lot of support here on the Dis!!-Sorry Aprilisis- didn't mean to high jack, its just nice to know, I am not alone!

No need to apologize!! It is great to have support and encouragement!! My biggest downfall in dieting- I love my wine. With about 100 calories per glass, it is not diet friendly. :guilty:

That's exactly why I want to stay over there. I'm going to be attempting the 1/2 marathon on the 2nd, so the next day I figure that relaxing by stormalong bay would be pefect.

I've had the same issues with my weight for ages. I think the smallest I've been is a size 10/12. A few years ago I got myself down to a size 12 again, but I've put nearly all the weight back on again. I'm hanging steady at a size 18, but I need to change. I had a rude awakening before I left for vacation last week and a pair of pants I had worn on my Dec. trip were now too tight. I'm hoping training for the 1/2 marathon and fixing bad eating habits will help.

I haven’t made any progress on my WDW plans for October. It is frustrating to wait for park hours to come out and for Southwest to release dates past August. It seems like they have been holding at August 13th forever now. While I am waiting for park hours to come out, though, I can give you a mini-TR from our overnight trip to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. Monday night after work, John & I made the 60 or so mile drive down to the MGM. We took advantage of the free valet parking & checked in quickly. They put us in room 7101- a Director’s Suite. We walked quickly to the room to change for dinner.

We didn’t use the jacuzzi because it is like taking a sleeping pill! I loved the bathroom setup, though. The Jacuzzi room is bigger than it looks in the photo. When you step in, the shower is off to the right. There was a separate room with the toilet & a phone.

(I don’t know if any of you watch “Top Chef”, but Tom Colicchio has a restaurant called “craftsteak” at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. It is a little pricey, but VERY good.) Before leaving the house and knowing John as well as I do, I called & changed our reservation from 8:30 to 9. I didn’t tell him this until after I changed my clothes for dinner. We sipped a glass of champagne & headed downstairs. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is pretty dark with paintings of cow faces hanging all over.

They brought us this bread & John ate almost all of it immediately!

I ordered onion rings (I know…SOOO fancy):rolleyes1:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/onionringsd.jpg

Cauliflower:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/cauliflower2.jpg

And Gratin potatoes:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/gratin.jpg

John got Yukon gold (potato) puree:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/Yukongoldpuree.jpg

Creamed spinach (no photo), and the ribeye:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/steak.jpg

The bread was delicious and the Yukon puree was fantastic. The Gratin potatoes were good, the cauliflower was ok, the spinach was too salty, and the onion rings were kind of soggy. You know me if you have read my reports before- I am rarely disappointed by food, so they must have been having an “off” night or something. The drink I had was great, though! John said the steak was VERY good. We were too full for dessert. All in all, the atmosphere of the place is awesome. I like it a lot.
After dinner, John got a cup of coffee and I found a SATC (an HBO show whose name would get censored if I typed it out..."something and the city") slot machine. They must know that the fans will play it- but these machines are NOT designed to do you any favors. After losing a bit on that machine, I tried a Jaws machine & quit when I was up $20. John decided he wanted to play a blackjack machine, so I played another one in the same area- I forgot what it was called, but I made back everything I lost on the SATC machine & quit. I was happy to be even! We went back upstairs & watched tv.
Darn! I knew I forgot something! I forgot to take breakfast photos. We ordered room service. John had Eggs Benedict and I had an egg white omelet with peppers and onions and a side of sliced tomatoes. Both came with very good breakfast potatoes and I had sourdough toast. I also had grapefruit juice & we both had coffee. It was all very, very good! Here are a few shots of our view- which was not GREAT, but I can’t complain:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_3431.jpg

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_3432.jpg

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_3433.jpg

We showered, packed up & checked out. We had to drive over to one of the other resorts to get to the Titanic exhibit. We parked & walked in & to my surprise, it wasn’t a far walk. This casino is HUGE & it usually takes forever to get where you’re going. I was disappointed that photography wasn’t allowed. We went into the exhibit & they handed us a card with information when we first walked in:
Back:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/t2.jpg

Front:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/t1.jpg

It contained information about a passenger that was actually on the Titanic & you could check & see if your passenger made it at the end of the exhibit. The exhibit started with items like personal effects- compacts, handkerchiefs, toiletry items, etc. There was even a bar of soap still in the case! They had a cabin set up like one of the first class cabins & one set up like the third class cabins- what a difference. The third class cabins had two sets of bunk beds & were either male or female, so a lot of families could not stay together. There was actually a postcard with the stamp STILL stuck on it. I learned that a first class parlor suite ticket cost $4,350 ($69,600 today), a first class berth ticket cost $150 ($2,400 today), a second class ticket cost $60 ($960 today), and a third class ticket cost $40 ($640 today). They were a lot more expensive than I thought! There were some dishes that they found still perfectly stacked because the wooden cabinet disintegrated around them. One of the workers told us that one man drank very heavily because of what was happening & he survived 2 hours in the water because his blood alcohol level was so high. The alcohol in his blood was like antifreeze. At the end of the exhibit, we checked to see if the person on our ticket made it off of the Titanic. John’s guy (who boarded 3rd class alone) did not make it. My second class lady & her daughter made it, but her husband didn’t. We looked through the gift shop at the end and John got me a little silver necklace with a piece of coal retrieved from the Titanic. The packing:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/t4.jpg

http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/t3.jpg

The necklace:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/TC.jpg

I really like it. I am fascinated by the Titanic and, while very sad, this exhibit is great. There are several throughout the world (http://www.titanictix.com/) & I think the Vegas one has most of the jewelry. Now I really want to go to Las Vegas to see that!
Well, I had better get back to work. I will report more when I have some WDW news. :)

It sounds like it was a great trip. I haven't been up to th CT casinos in ages. I live in CT, but it's such a hike to get there I hardly ever go. Your probably closer than me.

I didn't know they were having a Titanic exhibit going on. I'm completely fascinated with the Titanic. I saw the exhibit they had at the Norwalk Maritime musueum a few years back. That one was much more about the mechanics of the ship sinking. Still fascinating.

Too bad that your meal wasn't as super great as you expected but still good. I would have just been excited 'cause of who owned it. I know. I'm a nerd.:rotfl:

The Titanic exhibit sounds very interesting. I love the movie Titanic and bet I have watched it over three dozen times. John's brother is a barber and when they went to the Titanic museum in Branson, Missouri, the person he was assigned to (or whatever you call it), was a barber. What a coincidence!

The coal necklace is very unique. That was very sweet of John to buy it for you.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the gambling. We haven't gone to a casino in probably two years. When we do go, we are el cheapos and take about $50 for the two of us. Once it's gone, that's the end of the gambling for me. Now, my sister, on the other hand goes pretty often and always wins. Once, she was waiting for them to come cash out the machine she won $9,000 on and decided to play the slot machine beside her. She won another $7,000! Can you believe that! I need her to play my money for me.

That is such a coincidence about John's brother & the barber. My John's person at the exhibit was named "John", too- but I guess that is pretty common! :rotfl: I have seen "Titanic" that may times, too!!!!! I have a replica of the dress she wears in the scene where Jack first sees her on the ship. I ordered it in 2001 for Halloween & now I can't find it!!!! :scared1: If I do, I'll post pics. I have to find a costume for October because I want to dress up for the Halloween party for a change.
WOW! Your sister is lucky! That's a ton of money!! I never gamble with too much, either. I wish I could always get ahead, but sometimes I stop when I'm even because I'm afraid to lose money. I'm a big chicken.

April, I don't know how I have missed coming to your PTR :sad2:. But, I'm here now so we can commence.....:lmao:. I voted on the sunset picture, and I agree with you on the wax museum pictures. Some of them look a lot like the star, but some of them are WAY off. I love the pix of your fur babies, each on their own piece of furniture.......:rotfl2:. I think it is great that you and John can go and do something during the week. Dale won't take the time off work to do a one day thing so it always has to be done on my weekend off. Even if the food wasn't good, at the MGM, it sure looked good. I have started back on my diet and I pretty much think anything, food wise, looks good. I have been trying to decide what type of exercise equipment I want to invest in, and I think I am going to get a treadmill. I don't really have room for one, but I think if I get one that folds away I can store it in my garage.

The treadmill is awesome- seriously...I did layaway at Sears & only spent $600- it is a lot, but not compared to some of the treadmills out there. I walk on an incline & it makes my legs BURN. I still haven’t lost any weight, though, even though I have been eating well (except that one night out). Mine folds up, but it is in the basement, so it is not in the way. I just wish I had a tv to put in front of me.
My pets are SO spoiled, it isn’t even funny. They have the run of the house!!
It kind of stinks- John has one day off per week & he gets home so late that I only see him 2 hours a day. I guess I shouldn’t complain if my only problem is that I don’t see him enough!
I’m glad you’re here!!! I can’t wait to read your TR after your trip- it is coming up fast!!!! :thumbsup2

Well, my curiosity got the best of me & I did a Google search of “when will southwest release October 2010?” and I actually found a link to the Southwest site saying that they will be releasing dates through October 30, 2010 on March 23. So….guess who will be online at midnight on October 23rd?? If I can’t stay up that late, I will just book at 6am when I get up. I have to narrow down my dining choices, so I am ready to book dining when the park hours come out. I don’t think I will book a table service meal at EPCOT since the Food & Wine will be going on there. I will fill up on that stuff too much to want a big meal. I know I definitely want eat at the following places:

Artist Point
California Grill
Garden Grove (breakfast)
Boma (breakfast or dinner…maybe both?!?!?)
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Jiko
Donald’s Safari Breakfast
Kouzzina (breakfast)
1900 Park Faire (breakfast)
I think I might want to try the “Dine With an Imagineer” at Brown Derby, too

Some of my “maybe” places:
Sanaa
Cinderella’s Royal Table (I think I like the MK counter service options too much to go here, though)
The Wave
Bluezoo

Besides this, I have decided that I am going to spend a day doing things I have never done. The three things I have decided on are Dolphins in Depth (9:45am at Epcot), a trail ride at Fort Wilderness (I haven’t been horseback riding since I was 14), and a facial at one of the spas- most likely Mandara Spa at the Dolphin since it is the closest. I am definitely making a trip over to Universal & IOA to see the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter (http://www.universalorlando.com/harrypotter/). I am undecided on whether or not I will go to Halloween Horror Nights, though. Of course I will be visiting all 4 Disney parks, attending Mickey’s Not-so-Scary Halloween Party, and the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot (at least twice!). I am DEFINITELY planning to visit Stormalong Bay. That is one of the main reasons I booked at YC- the pool is amazing. Some pool photos from this past trip:

Now I just have to wait & be patient (yeah, right!) for park hours, Halloween party dates, extra magic hours, and airfare to come out. I’m too impatient. I want to plan, plan, plan…NOW!!!:hourglass

Your pictures are making me so anxious to stay at the Beach Club now! I can't wait to have my pool day there! I wanted to do a spa treatment this trip too. Last time I went over to the GF. It was wonderful. I hadn't even thought about going to the Mandara spa this time. I might have to look into that. It would be much more convienent staying at the Beach Club.

I know what you mean about making plans. I'm just itching to make some more plans. I'm probably flying Jet Blue so I can book now. I don't want the rates to get too high. I just need to talk with my BFF and find out exactly how many days she wants to spend at Universal.

I like the looks of your food choices. I definitely want to spend more time enjoying F&W this trip. It's why I don't want to do the dining plan this trip. I'm toying with the idea of a meal at CRT too. I've always wanted to eat at the castle, it's just so expensive!

ADR day will be just around the corner, so I'm going to have to come to some decisions soon.

I think I'd do the same thing as you and not book an ADR at Epcot since the Food and Wine Festival will be going on. I'd want to stop and sample the foods instead of sitting down to a meal.

You lucky girl you! I have always wanted to do Dolphins in Depth. John (my John ) would never agree to that. He's such a scaredy cat. We had planned on doing the horseback riding for our upcoming trip but changed our minds when we found out Mama was going with us. She wouldn't be able to ride and I don't want to make her wait around on us while we do it.

I checked Jetblue from Boston & their prices were WAY high...I know it has to be my travel dates. I'm considering switching my dates to one day earlier. I am going to wait for Southwest's airfare to come out first, though.
People may kill me for saying it, but the food at CRT is good...not GREAT. The atmosphere is really awesome, though. I really love California Grill the best.
I can't wait to read about your GF spa experience in your TR.

I'm hoping to do all of that stuff...if my budget allows. I'm putting aside money every week for this trip. I just hope I don't need to buy a car or something before I go. :scared1:
The food & wine is a great time. The only thing is that I end up eating so many different types of food that I leave a little queasy. Well, it is either that or the 20 different sample glasses of wine! Just kidding!

Hi April,
sounds like you and John had a wonderful time at the MGM, and the Titantic sounds very interesting. Great necklace BTW! your pictures of the YC make me wish I could stay there...it is so serene looking. your plans so far sound good. I like you extra choices as well too. I have been horse back riding and would love to try it; maybe when we return and ashton is old enough we will give it a try...who knows!

The pool looks so cool :thumbsup2. Is that sand on the bottom of the pool? That would be such an awesome pool to swim in. Reading all of your ADR choices I realize I have never eaten at any of them. How sad is that? :sad1:

I highly reccommend the Titanic exhibit. It was very sad, but very interesting to see the items they had recovered.
I guess the minimum age for trail rides is 9, but they also say thet the horses walk very slow. That is the cheapest of my 3 extra activities, so I know I will definitely be doing that one! You must be getting excited for your trip- it is RIGHT around the corner!!!!

There is sand on the bottom of a portion of the pool. I think Stormalong Bay is about 3 acres. It has to be, though, since it is shared by 2 resorts! I am really looking forward to spending some time in that pool.
It isn't sad that you haven't eaten at any of those restaurants, because I can name you a longer list of places I haven't eaten yet. :rotfl:

Before I forget to mention it, I found the COOLEST app for my phone! I can create postcards & have them sent using just my phone! I take a photo on my phone, upload it to this website & Send it to whomever I want- all for $1.89!!!! Isn’t that cool?!?! I’m SOOO using that in October!
So far- the diet is good, but the exercise has been nonexistent. I have to get back into a routine. Though- John is NO help diet-wise. We went to Five Guys burgers last night & I got the veggie sandwich with mustard (everyone makes fun of me & calls it the “condiment special”), but John got 2 bacon double cheeseburgers & 2 large fries!!!! :scared1: If you have ever been to Five Guys, you know large fries there fill a whole bag. So we walked out of there with a HUGE bag of fries. I only ate about 10 & even John couldn’t finish them. Not even close, actually. But you guys have seen his photo. For those of you who haven’t:

Only one question comes to mind- WHERE DOES ALL OF THE FOOD GO?!?!!?!? He is SO skinny & he can eat whatever he wants. I eat a flipping carrot & gain 10 pounds. :lmao:

Still nothing exciting here- Just more waiting. *sigh* Oh…So here are a couple of photos of the Harry Potter area construction from September of 2009:

I am SO scatter-brained lately from stress. A little back story: A co-worker asked me last July if I could take his turtles because he couldn’t keep them. He said he had them for a year & they were teeny-tiny when I got them:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/turtles.jpg

Their shells were probably about 2 inches across. I have had them since last July & now they are about 3.5 inches across! I guess they were living in a tank with no filter, no basking light & no heater. I got them those things right away. I also got a book on turtle care. I got them a 40 gallon tank in January (they were in a 10). Well, the new filter I got for the huge tank worked for a month & now it doesn’t work. John fiddled with it Sunday night & it worked for a day, but then stopped working again. I have to try & find a new one ASAP, but John keeps insisting he wants to fix the one I have. I don’t think it can be fixed, but I will give him one more try and then I will buy a new filter. The water will start to STINK if it isn't filtered. Those guys are seriously little eating & pooping machines! I would love to be able to let them go in a Lake, but #1- it is too cold here for their breed & #2- I don’t think they would survive out there since they have never had to fend for themselves. So I am stressing about getting their water nice & clean & filtered.

Monday night I was watching tv while John & Isis were sleeping and I heard some scritchy, scratchy noise coming from the attic. We had just gotten about 5 inches of rain over the weekend & I think a squirrel took up residence in our attic. I am borrowing a have a heart trap from work & I am going to set it up later on. All I can think of is the movie “Christmas Vacation” with the whole squirrel scene because I KNOW Isis would be chasing that thing all over the house if it ever got out.

Yesterday I got a notice in the mail about a recall on my Santa Fe- which is a 2003- because the front subframe apparently rusts & perforates from all of the road salt we use in the “Rust Belt” area of the country. I asked John how important it is & he said “Well, it DOES keep your engine in your car, so it is pretty important”. Fantastic. I drive 600 miles a week, so I have to get it looked at. They said they will replace it, too- which will be a huge job- so I am hoping they at least would give me a rental. I JUST finished paying it off last August, so I DO NOT want another car payment yet!! I have over 190,000 miles on it, though. :headache:

I got an offer for a rental car through Southwest- I got a car WAY cheaper than the rates that are out right now & I got credit towards my Southwest Rapid Rewards, too!! I reserved a midsize car through Alamo. I’m happy about that! I don’t know if you noticed, but Alamo has kiosks to electronically check in now. It usually saves a ton of time. That is one thing I can now check off of my list of things to do.:thumbsup2

I’m REALLY looking forward to Mickey’s Not-so-Scary Halloween Party this time around. I want to wear a costume, but I only will if I have someone to go to the party with. If I go alone, I will not dress up.

Your way more relaxed about that than I would be. I would be a basket case if I thought a squirrel was in the attic. I've seen that movie way too many times!

[Yesterday I got a notice in the mail about a recall on my Santa Fe- which is a 2003- because the front subframe apparently rusts & perforates from all of the road salt we use in the “Rust Belt” area of the country. I would think that they'd give you a rental since it's a recall. I can't even imagine driving 600 miles a week. :scared1: I've become so use to being a train commuter now. I drive my 2.5 miles to the train station and my 2.5 home and I've had enough. Even when I did have to drive it was only about 70 miles round trip. I can't wait until my car is paid off in October. This is the first car I've had that isn't ready to die by the time I've paid it off. It will be 5 years old and I haven't hit 30,000 miles yet. I  the train.

I got an offer for a rental car through Southwest- I got a car WAY cheaper than the rates that are out right now & I got credit towards my Southwest Rapid Rewards, too!! That's great that you got a good deal. I still haven't decieded about renting a car this trip.

I love MNSSHP! While the Christmas party was okay, I didn't love it the way I did the halloween party. It wasn't nearly as much fun. I dressed up the last time I went, but my BFF wouldn't. I'm so glad I did. It added alot to the experience. It was fun interacting with the cast members. I dressed up as Belle, and had some really fun moments interacting with Cinderella's stepsisters.

If we go the same day this trip we should meet up. Then you can dress up too. :) I love any excuse to put on a silly costume. I'm already debating costumes for the fall.

Tell John to hurry up and either fix the air filter for the turtles or let you go buy another one. Don't want your place stinking to high heaven.:rotfl:

I’m ok if the squirrel is ok- if it was injured or dead, I would be completely freaking out! I am HORRIBLE in emergency situations. I’m the stupid, hysterical idiot that is NO help because I’m too busy freaking out.

I’m so jealous that you can commute by train! I wish I could take the train to work. The commuter rail does come through the Town I work in, but I would have to take a train to Boston, then one here. The way the train times work out, I would have to leave my house at 4:15am & get home at about 9:15pm. :headache: I had to do it for a couple of weeks before & it KILLED me. I was exhausted!!! My car is a 2003 & I had a 6 year loan. It has been VERY good to me. I really have only had regular maintenance done to it so far. Unfortunately, I put tons of miles on it. I’m hoping to get at least another year out of it before it dies- Although- I was looking at the 2010 Santa Fe in red & I’m completely in love!

Isn’t the Halloween party awesome?!!? Me & my bf at the time went as Gomez & Morticia one year. It was great! If we go to the party on the same day, I will definitely put on a costume!!! We can trick or treat, too! :thumbsup2 I’m going to post about costumes next time I post a PTR installment.

Well, I called to make a service appointment & they told me JUNE was the earliest they could get me in. :scared1: I told them I drive 600 miles per week & my car has over 190,000 miles on it already & the guy said to at least drop in & let them take a look to see if it has rusted at all. :sad2:

Ok…So costume ideas for the Halloween Party:
Lucy (as in “I Love Lucy”)
The Red Queen or Alice from the new Alice in Wonderland
"Traditional" Alice
Lilly Munster
The Bride or Opera Singer (from the graveyard scene) from the Haunted Mansion

What do you guys think?

I found photos from my 2003 October trip to Disney when I was dressed as Morticia Adams. Some are TOO funny.

I wish the Adventurer’s Club was still there. I’m glad I got to go a few times before it closed. I wonder if they will ever re-open it because it was SO popular & just tons of fun.

You will notice how I cropped out an ex in a lot of the photos. Talk about BAD memories! He was always telling me I was fat back then…I think I was a size 6 or something at that time. I stuck with that relationship for 2 years, too, because I never thought anyone else would like me. In September 2004, I lost 2 grandparents (from different sides of the family) in the same week from unrelated illnesses. He argued with me about going to the services because he didn’t want to miss out on work (he worked for himself). A few days after the services, he asked me to move out. I guess it was smart on his part because I was too sad to be angry & I didn’t put up a fight about him keeping the condo we bought together and myself getting NOTHING for it. :sad2: Ahh, I learned a lot about what I didn’t want in life from that selfish man. I could go on & on, but you guys don’t need to hear that stuff. Besides, I am SURE everyone out there has at least ONE bad relationship story! Though, I have to say- dating from age 16 to age 32 has taught me A LOT. I could start an advice column!!! :rotfl:

Anyhoo- that was WAY :offtopic:! Today I work 7:30am until 7:30pm. I just DO NOT like sitting at a desk all day when I have so much energy! :hyper: At least I can go out at lunch. I’m going to get my favorite Subway sandwich…a little bit of provolone cheese, lettuce, fresh spinach, tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, onions, banana peppers, extra jalapenos, and yellow mustard on the 9-grain wheat bread. I am completely hooked on that sandwich. Sorry for the off- topic stuff. My posts will be MUCH more Disney related when park hours come out! ::MickeyMo

Well, knowing that you love horror movies and Disney, I think I'd go with either the Bride or the Opera Singer from Haunted Mansion.

You're old boyfriend should be shot for telling you you were fat and you being just a size 6. Size six is NOT fat!

I think you're right about the costumes. I was leaning that way or to Lilly Munster.

That guy had MAJOR issues!!! Before that trip, I was even a size 4 (*sigh*...I'll never see those numbers again!) and he would seriously NAG me about going to the gym, making sure I take ephedrine every day (before it was banned), and not eating carbs. I should have told him to just worry about himself & leave me alone.

Bad ex's STICK and hindsight is 20/20 and you are too nice to have to put up with his C@ap...And it sounds like the new guy is a lot better anyway!!

I think everyone and the mother is going to be leaning towards Alice this Halloween and I think you could really pull off the Bride from haunted mansion :thumbsup2or Lilly from the Munsters:yay:

First let me start by saying MEN ARE IGNORANT IDIOTS about 99% of the time. I love the pictures and you look really skinny in that dress. I like the Lilly Munster costume idea :thumbsup2. The Munsters was one of my favorite shows.

I love the costume ideas! I've been playing around with a few too. I think everyone else is right. Alice is going to be the hot costume down at Disney this year. I do love having Disney inspired costumes though while at MNSSHP. You get such great interaction with the CM's that way. I love the idea of the Opera singer. Cute!

I didn't think about that with the Alice stuff, but I bet you're right- EVERYONE will be an Alice! I'm really leaning towards the bride from Haunted Mansion if I can find a light to use for the heart.

Oh- I WISH I was still that size! I wish I had the sense to know I was skinny then, but I didn't.
Lilly Munster & the bride from HM are the "front runners" right now.
You know- I was trying to figure out a way to get there in May to be able to meet everyone, but I just can't do it. :sad1: I really hope I can make it happen next year.

Friday we went to see "The Crazies". I love horror movies & that one didn’t disappoint! Saturday morning I was up by 8am & I made an egg white omelet with tomatoes, scallions, and green peppers. Then, I worked outside all day- I prepared an area for my garden & put my compost bin together.
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_3445.jpg

I did 5 loads of laundry, cleaned out my car, filed some paperwork I had (Bills, receipts, etc.), and changed the sheets. This guy was hanging around in our side yard:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/turkey.jpg

It’s funny- he always visits alone. John & I went to eat at a Mexican place & picked up a new hose, nozzle, and stuff to plant at Wal-mart Saturday night. Sorry- I didn’t take any photos of the food. John had Arroz con Pollo and I got a Veggie meal- chili relleno, spinach enchilada, cheese enchilada, and black beans. Sunday I planted a ton of stuff in these little peat pellets to see if I can grow anything indoors from seeds. I did a little more cleaning, made brownies for John & made a stir fry for dinner.
Someone just popped into my office & told me there will be another Pirates movie. Yay! The bad part is that Orlando & Keira will not be in it.
I found some photos from my June 2004 trip with my friend, Sarah:

I will definitely be using sun block in October to avoid this kind of a situation:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/100_1318.jpg

I looked ridiculous in that photo! I had such a bad sunburn on my face.
We stayed at POFQ on that trip. I really love that resort.

Yeah for booking airfare. I so wish there was a bigger airport nearby so we could get some cheap airfare. The cheapest so far has been about $250.00 a person and that's with us driving to an airport almost 3 hours away.

I LOVE scary movies- even though they give me nightmares. I used to watch them with my Grandma all of the time. I think that is one of the things I miss most. That turkey is smarter than you know- he parked his butt at a vegetarian’s house! :rotfl: Isis is pretty interested in him, though!!
Yikes! That is pretty expensive airfare for being close to WDW! Mine ends up being just about that amount from Boston, Hartford, or Providence. I love flying out of Providence because it is relatively small & not too busy- plus the parking is CHEAP! How long does it take you to drive to WDW? PLEASE tell me you’re planning to write a trip report for your trip, too!

Hey April!
catching up...I keep getting behind and now that I took the little girl back that I was watching last year my time is going to become even slimer

So, my two cents on all...
great pictures as always I love the light in the walt and mickey pic, that is some crazy looking dragon from Epcot don't know why the plants in the mouth are throwing it off for me :confused3: and on the ex def. much better off without him and the condo:thumbsup2

here is a thought on the costumes (although I do like the two you have it dewindled down to) since you think everyone will be Alice (Gwendolyn did it two years ago:laughing: ) what about the white or red queen?!? just a thought:rolleyes1

:banana:on booking your Oct airfare:banana::banana: it will be here before you know it! I can't believe we leave in just 31 days!

BTW: Danny and I did mexican sat too! sounds like everyone was in a fieasta mood!:dance3:

I knew that you were a vegetarian but how about your neighbors? Mr. Turkey better stay put.

It takes us between 14 to 16 hours to drive to Disney. Just depends on traffic and weather. I know we'll have to adjust our driving schedule a little this year because Mama won't be able to ride for a long period of time without walking around. That's okay though. We can deal with that. And, yes, I'll be writing a trip report. I have to in order to keep my sanity until the next Disney trip.;)

It has been a long day today. I went to the post office before lunch today & got new stamps- they have Simpsons stamps now!
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_0159.jpg

I picked up mail for work & mailed something. Since I had a dr’s appointment, I didn’t have time to leave for lunch. I have recently discovered that I can order from a local pizza place online, pay & tip online, and monitor the status of the order.
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_0162.jpg

It is THE coolest thing! It even tells you how long it has been since you ordered. Now that I know they will deliver it here, though, I am in trouble. At least they have a lot of healthy stuff. I’m hoping to get my butt in gear and get into better shape before I go to NYC, too, since we will be doing a lot of walking. I bought new running shoes (FINALLY):

This weekend was totally uneventful. I didn’t do much of anything besides get my hair done Friday, clean the turtle tank Saturday, and do laundry & watch “2012” Sunday. It was kind of nice. So far, most of the seeds I planted are growing:

:rotfl: Needless to say- I can’t cut her nails!!!
But the BIG news is- October hours came out!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already started a spreadsheet:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/sched.jpg

So far, here are my plans:
Monday, October 4, 2010: John will drop me off at the airport at 5am. I will get to Orlando by 10am, pick up my bags, and then get my rental from Alamo (I’m hoping to upgrade to a convertible if it isn’t too expensive at the time). I am planning to stop off at Winn Dixie to pick up water & snacks on the way to YC. I will check in & chill out until my facial at Mandara Spa in the Swan/Dolphin, have dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse, and head over to the Magic Kingdom for extra magic hours.

Tuesday, October 5, 2010: I am planning to book an 8am breakfast at Cape May Café & then to head over to Universal/Islands of Adventure. I am going to go to wait until I find out on which days & at which park Halloween Horror nights will be before I decide which order to visit these two parks. I know I will definitely be going on the Simpsons Ride, Rip Ride and Rock it, the Mummy (all at Universal), the Hulk, Jurassic Park, Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls, and exploring anything the Harry Potter area has to offer (at Islands of Adventure). I will get dinner from a counter service location or from room service.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010: I plan to have breakfast at Boma, then go to Animal Kingdom. I KNOW I will go on Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, all of the animal trails, Dinosaur, and Conservation Station. I got a new guide book (The Complete Walt Disney World 2010) that has a map of all of the Discovery Island Trails:
http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/vv167/aprilisis/PTROCT/IMG_0163.jpg

I will definitely be exploring all of them. If I can (this will be a first for me) I am going to get an early dinner at Boma, too. I plan to get to Epcot for the evening extra magic hours that night.

Thursday October 7, 2010: I am going to walk over to the Garden Grove for breakfast. I read a review that said it is the worst restaurant on property, but I won’t know if I don’t try it! After breakfast, I am going to continue walking right to DHS. I am going to get on TSM, Rock N Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, and go to American Idol. I am going to have dinner at California Grill, then go to MNSSHP. (I’m only assuming it will be on the nights that the park closes at 7pm)

Friday, October 8, 2010: I plan to sleep late, get breakfast at Kouzzina, & head over to Fort Wilderness to do some horseback riding. This will be a Disney first for me. I haven’t ridden since I was 14, either, so it should be interesting. I will go to Downtown Disney for the afternoon, then to Jiko for an early dinner. I am going to Animal Kingdom’s evening extra magic hours. They are only until 8pm, but I am looking forward to seeing the park at night.

Saturday, October 9, 2010: Dolphins in Depth will be first on my agenda. This means I have to be at Epcot by 8:30am or so. I plan to stay the day at Epcot. Magic Kingdom is open until 11pm, too, so I might finish out the day there.

Sunday, October 10, 2010: I plan on a late breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. The morning/afternoon are completely open, but MK has extra magic hours at night. I am going to cram in as much fun as I can before I leave early the next morning.

Monday, October 11, 2010: My flight leaves at 8:50am, so I have to leave the resort by 6:15am. My birthday is actually the 12th, so I miss it by a day.

There will be a bunch of firsts for me on this trip.:yay: I will be able to book dining on next Tuesday. As of now, no one in my family has booked a trip during this time, but my stepmom wants to go at the beginning of October. My cousin was talking about bringing her daughter for Columbus Day weekend (she will be 10 & it would be her first trip), but she said she may buy a house instead. So it looks like I’m mostly on my own- which is not a bad thing!

I’ve also talked John into December 6-10 & it is in the works to book the Polynesian. John loves Christmas, so I think he would just love the decorations, the Christmas party, and the Candlelight Processional.

If I do we will have to work a day in to go there.

Universal has a few new-ish things. Have you been on Revenge of the Mummy or seen Shrek 4-D yet? The Simpsons ride & that crazy Rip Ride Rock It coaster are fun. I also like Men in Black. I like a few rides at IOA, too. I keep trying to figure out a way to get down there for this May, but it isn't possible. Maybe next year. :sad1:
Driving isn't too bad in Orlando- but that is only because I only have to go up I-4 for a few miles to get to the Universal exit. :rotfl: The only other off-property place I go is the Winn Dixie right near WDW.

I can’t believe that my plants are actually growing! I can’t plant them outside until the end of May, so let’s hope I can keep them alive until then.

The basil is a little pathetic:

The peas are growing well:

The radishes & scallions are going to take over the planet!!!!:rotfl:

More waiting here- I can’t book dining or the spa until Tuesday. I figured today I would share my senile cat meowing. He is 21 and this isn’t even close to as loud as he gets. He does this ALL DAY.

Besides growing veggies & my crazy cat, that’s all I’ve got going on until I have news about booking dining, Mandara Spa, Dolphins in Depth, & horseback riding. I will definitely include a mini-TR of New York after I go.

Oh! There is one more thing…my bank cancelled my debit card WITHOUT warning me first. I tried to use it at Walmart & felt like a TOTAL moron when the card was denied. I called the bank & they told me that they cancelled my card because of a “fraudulent charge”. :scared1: I guess they had thousands of complaints from people about some bogus company trying to charge $7.50 or something on a bunch of people’s cards. Someone hacked into some company’s database & stole card numbers. Now I have to wait until I get another debit card. Thank goodness I could write my mom a check to cash for me! There aren’t any bank branches near where I work & I leave the house before my bank opens & get home after it closes! :sad2:

I'm going to end this PTR & start a new one without the poll at the top of the page. I'll post a link as soon as I do & I will re-post my previous posts as best I can.
Ok- the new link is: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2434297
I'm changing it in my signature, too. Sorry about this, everyone! I lost all the good chatter- that is the downside. I'm hoping we will have more, though!

Can the moderators please close this thread?? Thanks!
