sorry if this has been asked previously, but is it worth the extra £19.80 to upgrade to a room near the hotel facilities or by the Rio Grande?
how far are standard rooms from the facilities? i cant imagine them being a million miles away surely?
and is the Cheyanne that much better than Santa Fe?
and which is more "pushchair" friendly? will be travelling with a 4yr old and a 4 month old baby.
many thanks.
appologies if these questions have been asked a million times before:flower3:

the hotels are about the same standard but the theme of the cheyenne is much much better. the rooms are a little dark for me and i could be wrong but they felt much smaller than the santa fe. i would just email before you get there to request a room close to reception. to be honest i refuse to pay extra for nothing at all. they would have to give those rooms out in any case. its not like you are getting any perks

I don't think its worth paying anything to upgrade to a specific block at the Cheyenne (or the Santa Fe). Although the map of the Cheyenne shows it quite spread out, its really not, and you're only a couple of minutes walk from the main reception/restaurant block, no matter which block your room is in.

I wouldn't pay for a certain room, its just Disney trying to grab a few bucks more.

No i wouldnt pay extra you are no more than 5min from everwhere. The cheyenne is alot nicer i found in the rooms we had.
both are pushchair friendly we request a ground floor room as they are no lifts.

Not sure if I still have the buildings layout from last year, if so I'll see if I can get it loaded up on here.
As mentioned, they're all within close proximity.
Both places look great, however for me the cowboy setting is the best within the whole DLP resort, love it.
The rooms are a touch cramped I do think, but they do the job perfectly.

Some of the rooms on upper level that look out on to the Rio Grande (river) have a beautiful view. That said, it's certainly not worth paying £20 extra for it.
If Disney are going to charge extra for rooms that are nearer the reception/restaurants then they should put some extras in the room like a mini-bar (like in Montana SL rooms) and possibly a better TV.

Stayed there last year (for only one night) but I would say not worth paying extra. Whatever block you stay in you're not too far from the main reception block so not really a problem. We had the furthest block away (annie oakley?) and to be honest it worked out better as it was nice and quiet and the kids lost some enery running down to the main block for breakfast etc..!
Would definately go back as we loved it, better than the NPB we stayed in previously. The buffet was good too!

Both options have pros and cons. It's nice to be closer but it is more noisy with everyone coming past your room to the main block.
We stayed at NPB last year which is a huge hotel and I paid extra for a lake view room. Some of the rooms there maybe about a 15 walk from reception, but Cheyenne as already mentioned is only about 5 mins.
Were back there in may. Can't wait:banana:

We stayed in the annie oakley block and it was one of the closer blocks, when your walking from the main block towards the river its the 2nd or 3rd block on the right, our room was directly across from the laundry room.

Yep, you're right there! I was looking at the map the wrong way round! Stupid girl! :rotfl:
We were in Geronimo which is definately (one of) the furthest blocks, by the car park. Nice and quiet.

I'm exactly the same. I get a bit freaked out if it's too quiet. :rotfl:
