I've Succeeded in Keeping the Secret...

Our flight is at 6:45 tomorrow morning and as of this moment, my 14 year old son and 10 year old daughter have NO idea that they're going to DisneyWorld!!! They think that only their dad and I are going and they think that they are staying with their older sister. They know I'm packing their suitcases, but they just think it's for a "vacation" right here in town. At 5:30 tomorrow morning, our 18 year old will drive us to the airport (10 minutes from home) and these two are going along (because they think they're going to Great America and leaving at 6:00 a.m. from their sister's home). We have thought of EVERYTHING!!! They will not find out that they're going to Florida until we get out of the car and start removing our luggage.

I just can't wait to see the look on their faces!!:) And...I'm so proud of myself for keeping this surprise!!!

I wouldn't tell them until they get on the plane or until you are close to landing!!!!! You've gotten this far.....try and see how far you can go before they figure out......when they get out of the car just tell them that you decided to just take a plane and go somewhere....see what they say and see if you can pull it off....


Oh what fun...I wish I could do that to my kid!!!!!! But I can't keep my big mouth shut!!!!!!

To be honest with you....I can't believe I actually pulled this off! I'm terrible about keeping secrets! My husband didn't think I could do it. Now that we're this close, I'm about to POP!!! This time tomorrow, they're going to think we're the world's "coolest" parents. Four days at Disney World and three days at the beach - I'm in HEAVEN!!!

For those of you who recommended lots of pictures...that won't be a problem!! I have a new digital camera, lots of memory cards and 3 sets of rechargable batteries (and my charger). I'm set!!!! I'm also an avid scrapbooker - so the shocked look on their faces will be the first photo in the trip's scrapbook.

I know that this will be something that they'll remember as long as they live - the day that they're parents surprised them with airplane tickets and a week in Florida. ;)

My bags are packed, my secret's intact and if I close my eyes...I can see the castle changing colors in dusk. :D

That's what we're doing with my DD. She's only 4 though so it's a little easier to keep the secret :)

I don't plan on ever telling...not even when we get on the plane...not even when we land in Orlando. I'm just going to wait and see when she realizes where we're at :) She's been there a few times before so it shouldn't take her long. She'll know as soon as she sees the Disney bus pull up. And if she remember staying there before, she'll remember the Caribbean Beach :)

I'm off to bed...to dream of a castle at the end of the street...and the looks on my children's faces in just a few hours when we surprise them with the news.

When I was in HS (sophomore) my parents took me and little bro down to FL as a surprise. They weren't going to tell me, but ended up telling us 2 days prior to going (we flew out Tuesday night and they told us Sunday night). They actually took us out of school for a few days (where I actually had nothing to do as my exams were done and all I would have gone in for would have been band rehearsal for graduation and I did miss graduation ceremonies). It was great! (Even though we only spent a couple of hours in MK -- which was pretty much all WDW was at the time). I remember getting such a kick out of being "tour guide" in WDW (I'd been there a year before on a band trip -- not that we'd had a lot of free time then either)...I got to show off the Haunted Mansion & PotC!
