It is an understatement to say that the last few months have been difficult. DH and I didn't get to go away last month and we really needed the time together. Our 26th anniversary is next week and our stress level is over the top today.

On a whim, I checked internet airfares to Orlando. I found them for $366, total, for 2 person, non-stop. Hmmmmm........ We have DVC points to use, have AP's......... you see where I'm going here.....?

I figure that we saved at least that much money by not going on our long weekend last month. DH agrees. We also really, really could use some "us" time. DD is stable, her primary birth coach and my parents are prepared to handle anything that might happen over the 39 hours we would be gone, so..........

We leave at 8:07am on the 6th, have PS for LeCellier, DVC points for the AK concierge, and return 39 hours later. A little pricey for 39 hours but we will savor every penny spent.

Now, if you will all join me with prayers and pixie dust that DD is stable (mentally & physcially) so that we can go with clear minds & hearts......

You are absolutely right. Only a crazy DISer would ever make such plans. We did the same thing the week before July 4th. You are doing the logical thing. Have a great time. And don't worry about DD. I'm sure that things won't get completely out of hand in 39 hours. It takes at least 48 hours for that to happen. :)

That is a bit pricy for just 40 hours away, but with how much you two need a break, it's very much worth it. Sending some PD that your DD remains stable so you can go!

Have fun and don't worry...as said, it takes at least 48 hours for things to get crazy so if something does happen you'll already be on your way home :) Just relax and have fun.

Sounds like a MUCH needed break. Wish you could take a longer one... it will be hard to relax... but I bet you are ready to give it a try! :)

Sometimes a quick, decadent little getaway for a couple of days is just as good as a week!! Enjoy every second and don't think of a thing but the two of you from the time the plane takes off until it lands again at home!!!!

Claudia, you need this trip. :) Even if this trip ends up with you two never leaving your room, it will be well worth it. I can almost picture you two sleeping for 24 hours.
