Can two adults (both on the same room and dxdp) share one app, one entree and one dessert at lunch and share 1 meal credit at:
Yak and Yeti
Sci-Fi
Liberty Inn
Thanks!

Liberty Inn is a counter service at Epcot, and you can share anything you want. Unless you are referring to Liberty Tree Tavern in MK, which is not a counter service.

far as I know the only place you cant share meal credits is buffets. Nothing stopping you from going in and ordering just one meal..how you choose to eat your meal is your business

Actually you cannot share single meals among your party at buffets, all you can eat family style restaurants (like 'Ohana or Garden Grill), fixed price, fixed menu restaurants (like Akershus or CRT) or dinner shows. These places charge per person, not per meal. You would also be charged per person for the all you can eat skillet at Whispering Canyon Cafe.
From what's been reported there is no problem splitting a la carte meals on the dining plan at any Disney restaurant except Beaches & Cream. I'd be cautious at non-Disney restaurants like Yak & Yeti. Haven't heard anything about meal splitting but there were reports Y & Y wouldn't allow diners to order appetizers in place of entrees, things like that.

I think that is what i said or at least what i meant
buffets and as you pointed out skillet meals cant be shared with a meal credit. each person must use a credit to enter into a buffet place whether they eat or not
however, there is no reason at a sit down meal one person can order a meal and another person not order a meal. They can share one meal credit

Beaches and Cream, according to many reports on this board, does not permit dining plan users to share an entree, so there sometimes appears to be a reason why you can't do this. I'm not comfortable advising the OP that they will be permitted to share in all cases at a la carte restaurants. I'd think they should have a backup plan at least regarding Y & Y which appears to be more strict about ordering on the dining plan than the Disney-owned restaurants are.
The previous poster referenced "buffets" but there are other relevant non-shareable offerings that are not buffets, like the family style pre-plated meals, the fixed menu restaurants, and the dinner shows.

how would they know and why would they care?
you already paid for the credits, you aren trying to get one over on a child credit vs an adult credit
and I am assuming the scenario described by the poster where it is someone from the same room on the same dining plan
No reason anyone should care how you use your credits in this case :confused3

Maybe it doesn't appear that there is a reason, but at least one restaurant (Beaches & Cream) apparently has a policy against doing so on the dining plan, whether or not we think that is logical. There's a difference between splitting a meal and one person not ordering a meal. And I am sure the server can note if the person who ordered the meal is allowing the person who didn't order a meal to eat half of theirs.
Someone who has split a meal at those particular restaurants would have to confirm that it's allowed. I would say it probably is fine at the Disney-owned ones, but not so sure about the others.

My husband and I went DXDDP in December 09 and split an app, entree, and dessert at Y&Y with no problems. It was one of my favorite meals! We also shared at Restaurant Marrakesh and 50s Prime Time.

Yes, I meant Liberty Tree!

Yes, that's exactly the scenario. It's dh and I on 3 out of 9 days where I'm thinking about scheduling (gulp!) 3 meals, but don't think we can polish off breakfast, a 3-course lunch and a 3-course dinner each. It makes sense to be able to share, but I want to gather others' experiences.

Good info. Didn't realize Y&Y was not owned by Disney. Is Beaches and Cream not owned by Disney either?

Awesome! That's the first-hand feedback I was hoping to find. :thumbsup2 Good to hear about sharing in Marrakesh and 50s!

No, Beaches & Cream is owned by Disney. There doesn't seem to be any reason for their rule but it was reported by multiple posters. They allowed sharing between guests paying OOP, it applied only to dining plan guests.

Bumping up because my ADR window has opened, so I need to make ressies, and I would like others' experiences about sharing meals and credits at:
- Yak and Yeti
- Liberty Tree Tavern
- Sci-fi
- Sanaa
There are 2 adults and children on the deluxe dining plan. I'm planning to order a kids' meal for the 2 kids to share and an adult appetizer, entree and dessert for the adults to share.

Liberty Tree Tavern - if you're talking about dinner, that is a family style meal and you need to pay per person - you can't share it. If it's lunch, that's a la carte and you might be able to share it.

I should have mentioned - all of these are for lunch on 4 days where we have a very early breakfast (7:30-8:10 am) and a later dinner (around 6:00 pm). I figured, we need lunch, but there's no way we can finish 3 courses. This will leave us enough credits to do a couple of signatures.

Its not on your list, but I have read that Tutto won't let people share on the dining plan.
