Hello, we are planning our vacation for November. I am a vegetarian and I eat really minimally. The dining plan is wayyyy to much food for me and probably things I would not eat. I would like to know if I could opt out of the dining plan, yet eat with my family. We will be mostly doing the Wilderness resort and campground restaurants.
My ILs are going also and are not doing the DP so would it be better to do my reservations under their name and just bring my own food and pay OOP?
Or should I just go ahead and pay for my dining plan and share the credits with my family? Thanks!

Everyone in the room has to be on the same package. So you can't have some people in the room on the DDP and some not on the DDP. Sorry.

You could register yourself in your in-laws' room - well, they could include you, you can't do it yourself - instead of with your family. You'd have to pay the additional adult fee, and you'd have to be with a family member to get access to their (your own actual) room - but yes, you could do this.
What you can't do, though, is then use anybody's credits to order anything - not even a bottle of water. You'd need to pay for everything out of pocket; in fact, they can't even share food with you if someone orders something you would like or can eat.

As an alternate suggestion, the rest of your family can use your credits if you don't want to (anyone in the room can use the credits for the room), but Disney is actually a GREAT place to be vegetarian.

As everybody else has already said, everybody in the same room has to have the same dining plan. Yes you can be put on your IL's reservation in order to not have the dining plan but you'll have to pay the extra adult fee. You're better off just being on the same reservation as the rest of your family and having the dining plan. At buffets, dinner shows and any other restaurants with a flat price per person regardless of what's been ordered, you'll be glad to have the credits. For places where you just pay for what you order, you can still pay OOP for your food. Your credits can then be used by another member of your family for an additional meal.
Take a look through the menus on allears.net and do some searches on vegetarian dining at WDW. You'll be amazed at the options.

another thing to do is look on the dining review section, theres been some great vegetarian and vegan reviews recently. they may help to give you an idea of the foods/meals you can get and some of the things you can ask for.

Take a look through the menus on allears.net Just wanted to point out that I was able to compile my vegetarian sample list right here on the DIS home site http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining.htm, simply by typing the word 'vegetarian' into the search box. :teeth: Allears doesn't offer that feature, at least not as easily-compiled if at all.
