Who has gotten a GV from waitlisting

Just curious if anyone has gotten a GV at OKW or BWV thru the waitlisting process. I know that waitlisting success can vary with resort, time of year, etc. Just wondering at the success rate.

I am on the waitlist for a GV at HH and I am pretty sure I won't get it (It is for Dec 29-Jan 3). Trying to remain hopeful though!!!

Well, I almost fit into the yes category. I called MS to put in a request for my 2br at VB, and she told me that a Beach Cottage just became available for 2 of my 3 nights. This was in June, for a trip this September. I took the BC for the two nights.

To answer your Q: If there was a waitlist for the BC, they would have been successful! :cool:

You would prolly have better luck at OKW just because there are more GV there than anywhere.....

I jsut got my waitlist for a 2 bedroom at OKW for December.......

We had waitlisted for a GV @ OKW last October for a trip at the end of Jan. Less than 2 weeks after I was on the list, they called to see if we still wanted the ressie. Everone in the family had decided not to go, so we kept our 2br @ VWL! It can happen!

Everone in the family had decided not to go, so we kept our 2br @ VWL! That's the reason right there that your waitlisting chances are good. It takes a lot of guests to make a GV's points worthwhile, and somebody's always changing their plans. I'm planning a family trip right now, and it's like herding cats. :) So I'll bet lots of people book a GV and later cancel.

BTW, we were successful waitlisting for a Beach Cottage at VB once.

Jimbo - I hope you are right!! Our problem is trying to figure who NOT to invite. We had a good list for the GV, but since I could only get a 2 bedroom, we have to make some changes. UGH!

Hope to get the GV...but I am just happy to be going.

We had success waitlisting for a Grand Villa last year at OKW. Had originally booked 2Bdr at BWV for 12/2-12/7 2001. Went on the waitlist in August and was confirmed in October. Waitlists do work. Good luck.

Had reservations at BWV 11 months out and called for OKW GV at the 7 month mark and was wait listed. The GV came through at the 4 month mark for 7/7 through 7/12. The OKW GV is impressive, to say the least.
