Is this even feasible? My extended family (3 groups) are going the 2nd week in November. We have all gone to the Beach and Yacht club in the past, and would like to go again if we can get a discount code
How feasible would it beto get 3 seperate Beach club villas to rent? Would it be cheaper than a regular Yacht or Beach club rooms?
Am I crazy?

My family is doing this for our March 2011 trip. We are renting points for 4 studios at BWV, which is definitely saving us money over whatever the BWI rate would be. For us we knew someone who had enough points to accomodate all 4 reservations. That way I can coordinate everything for my family and only have to deal with one DVC owner. He just needs the names and ages (for kids) of each person in each room, and dining plan/magical express details. Also, this way he can have the 4 reservations linked as a grand gathering.

We used DVCrequest.com for our November trip, and have a 2 BR at Kidani for approx. 49% off rack rates. I believe it is more than 2 rooms at AKL with a 40% discount, but we have a kitchen, washer/dryer, and 3 bathrooms. Plus the villa rooms are much nicer than the regular lodge rooms, IMHO.

I can't imagine that you wouldn't come out ahead by renting as opposed to using a discount through Disney. This is especially true if you stay Sun-Thurs and not weekends (weekends take many more DVC points). If you find a member with enough points it should be no problem for them to reserve three villas for you.

The biggest potential draw back I see is that Nov. is a very popular time for the Epcot DVC resorts because of Food and Wine Festival. If I were you I would try to secure a reservation as soon as you can, before the 7 month mark (when all DVC owners can book at these resorts). Availability will be very limited then if it isn't already.

Check out the rent/trade board for lots of helpful information on renting DVC points.
