Hello All:wave:
I've been going back and forth about whether or not to do a trip report. I woke up this morning and made the decision to do it. I have done one or two in the past, and all went well. So, here we go again! :cool1:
CAST:
DH and I: This is his 8th trip and my 7th.
http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu85/planningfanaticmom/HeathMargPoly.jpg
Here we are at the POLY! Didn't stay there but did eat at O'Hana's. Loved it.:lovestruc
DD 17 and 14: This is their 5th trip.
http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu85/planningfanaticmom/Pluto.jpg
They love the characters!
OK, Let's get started.
When to go?
That's easy. We go in June because both DH and I are teachers and the girls are in high school. So missing school is not really an option for us. We like to go as soon as school is out. However, if we get much more snow this year, we could be missing the last few days of school. :scared1: I'll keep you updated about that.
Where do we stay?
DH has decided that a deal breaker is QUEEN SIZED BEDS. We are not small people and have found double beds difficult to sleep on over the past few years. Well, we do have to watch the budget, so that leaves us with CSR. I checked out pics and reviews. Although I know there are some mixed reviews, the people who love it, really love it. :cloud9: So, I took the plunge and booked it. I am a little nervous about the size of the resort. I have requested Casitas 4 or 5 to be near the second bus stop (which actually picks up first :confused3) My girls are fine with a quiet pool and will probably only eat at El Centro for breakfast. I don't see us going there too often.
That's all for now. Coming up! How do we get there? and "Should we do the Dining Plan?"

You look like such a sweet family! I have daughters 14 and (almost) 17 also. Well, I have a whole bunch more kids too, but at least we have that in common. :lmao:
Anyway, I'd love to follow you along in your planning. :thumbsup2

Glad to have my first reader. Aren't teenage girls wonderful? I wouldn't have it any other way. They are getting ready for a semi-formal dance tonight at the school. The first one for my 14 year old. Maybe I'll post some pics.

How are we going to get there??
In 2006 we flew to WDW with a lay over in Atlanta. All was fine until we were on our way back, and our flight from Atlanta to Baltimore was canceled. Yep, just up and canceled. :confused3 They didn't care one little bit. So, we had to take a flight to my SIL in VA and the next day she drove us to our car in Baltimore. Of course, I hadn't flown in a long time, so packing a bag with clothes and such just didn't occur to me. :scared1:
In 2007 and 2009 we drove. Horrible yes, but I had all of luggage with me and no one telling me that I couldn't get home.
Well, the family outvoted me this year, and we are flying again. Resigning myself to this fact, I put my foot down and said, "It must be a non-stop flight." So we will fly out of Reagan National with a direct flight. More on that in a later post.
I have not flown since they have instituted all of the restrictions for what you can carry on the plane. So, if you are reading this and fly often, could you please subscribe? I know that when we get closer, I will have a ton of questions. Also, what is up with paying for luggage? That is new for me too.
OK The Dining Plan:
Should we or shouldn't we?? popcorn::
Of course, we did!! We love to eat out, and with all of the neat themes at many WDW restaurants, we enjoy this down time. We did it for the first time last June. It was a huge success for us. We ate at places we never would have gone to. Because of the age of our kids, I know we saved money. No Question!!
Coming UP: Park Days and ADRs!!!

Hello! :wave2: I am new to your PTR tonight. Looking forward to reading along popcorn::
As far as flight restrictions, here is a link (http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm) to the rule regarding liquids. As far as the luggage fees go, that is specific to each airline as far as I am aware. Does SouthWest fly out near you? They are still not charging for luggage.

Thanks for joining in and thanks for the link. I will check that out.
We have already booked the flight. DH did that without my knowledge. He wanted the cheapest flight and didn't take into consideration paying for the bags. Of course, the flight is nonrefundable. So, I will have to make the best of it. I guess I have to decide whether or not to pack less, pay less and therefore, do laundry. OR Pack more, pay more, and then no laundry!! I have a while before I have to decide. With the luggage, do we pay for that when we get to the airport??
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.:hippie:

This will also be my first time flying since they started charging for luggage. I think it's insane, and makes me so mad!:headache: I have a 4 year old and a baby, so you KNOW I'm NOT going to be able to pack light.
I'm glad you like having teenage girls. I'm terrifed for the day my DD turns into one. :scared1:

So far the teenage years have been great. They still need my just in a very different way.

When are you going in June? We will be there from the 17th-25th. We also have several teachers in our family, myself included, so we also do most of our traveling in the summer.
I am with you on the nonstop flights! We drive to a bigger airport further away so we can take a nonstop flight! As for the luggage fees, once you find out how much it is per piece of luggage, you could look into shipping a box down to your hotel. Find out what is cheeper and do that! I was worried about this because we have a baby this trip and I know we will have lots of stuff to take! Fortunatly my in-laws decided they would like to take the auto-train down and we can send lots of things with them in their car!
Looking forward to reading more!

I can't believe I forgot to tell everyone the dates. June 17-22!!
That is a good idea about shipping stuff down. I guess I could just ship stuff back home then too. Thanks for the advice!:thumbsup2
I've looked into the auto train, but thought it was too expensive for the amount of time. Also, there is no way I could sleep on the train. I would be exhausted and would not be pleasant to be around.:scared1:
Lots of teachers in our family too. It is amazing how it can run in the family. I also see that we are both from PA. :hippie:
Thanks for reading.

Depending on the airline you can prepay when you do your check in via the airline's website. Some offer discounts if you do it this way too. :goodvibes
Shipping packages done: you are staying CSR so be prepared to pay a package handling fee. Since it is one of the "conference resorts" I have read they (and SSR) charge when guests mail packages down.

Next it was time to think about ADRs.
I checked the Crowd Calendar at touring plans.com and chose which day to go to which park. To save money, we also chose not to get park hoppers this year. We have always had them, but didn't really use them a lot. I hope we don't regret this decision. I did read somewhere that you can add this once you are there if you need it.
Here is where we are going each day.
Thursday June 17: Epcot: World Showcase
Friday June 18: DHS
Sat. June 19: MK
Sun. June 20: AK: Father's Day
Mon. June 21: Epcot: Future World
Tues. June 22: Make-up day (Probably MK)
As of right now, there is no Fantasmic on the 18th. I learned last year to not go to DHS on a day they are showing Fantasmic. I hope this doesn't change.
The reason we are going to WS on arrival day is because last year, by the time we got there, we were so tired we couldn't enjoy it. I thought maybe this year if we go first, we'll be more energetic. This is my DDs least favorite place in WDW. They do enjoy The Kim Possible Adventure. I'm sure they will do that again this year.
So, not I had to think about the TS meals. We are there 5 nights which gives us 5 TS meals. Each person got to pick one place and then DH and I picked the 5th one.
Thurs: Chefs de France: This one is DH
Fri.: Mama Melrose: This one is mine
Sat. O'Hana's: We went here last year and we loved it. DD 17 picked this one
Sun. Boma: DH and I picked this one. I had heard so many wonderful things.
Mon. Le Cellier: This one is DD14. She loves steak!
Tues: Breakfast with Stitch at Poly.
Now I know if you counted, that is 6. I really want my DDs to eat a meal with Stitch, so we will pay OOP for the breakfast.
I went on line on the 180 day and had no problem getting what we wanted at the exact time we wanted. I can't say enough about how wonderful the on-line system is. It was so easy. :worship:
Please give me your thoughts on our plan and meals. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
UP NEXT! Give a Day!

What time is your flight? Are you using ME? I just hope you have time to enjoy WS--definitely one of my favorite parts of Disney. :goodvibes Your plans look great to me!!
We are going to DHS on a Fantasmic day...I hope the crowds are not horrible in September. If they are, than we will just not do that much there. :rotfl: We are hoping to get a F! dinner package so as soon as we are able to eat, we will hopefully leave and get out of the crowds. That's the plan anyways. :thumbsup2

We land around 12:00. We have a 6:00 ressie at Chefs de France. It is also an EMH hours that evening. I think that is all of the time we will need. We are not big shoppers, so although we do look around the shops, we don't spend a lot of time in them. We will be back to Epcot on another day and can pick up anything we don't get to.
I'm sure the crowds in September will be fine. June can be very busy especially when they only run it once or twice in the week.
We have seen Fantasmic already with the dinner package. That was when it was every night. This year I am hoping to see Illuminations for the first time.

Do they have the Fantasmic schedule out that far in advance? We arent going until Nov/Dec.

Thanks and have a great time. If Fantasmic is showing and you have the energy, see it. It is really amazing. The special effects are incredible. The crowd is tough, but this time of the year should be fine.

We ate in Hollywood in Vine in 06, and it was good. This was before it was a character meal. My friend ate at Mama Melrose's for her dinner package. She liked it so much, we are eating there this June. Yes, the fantasmic schedule comes out with the park schedules. I think there are times when they add shows due to crowds. I have never heard that they ever canceled shows except for weather.
Good luck!

6 months ahead. If you are going at the end of one month and the beginning of another, you may need to make your ADRs without knowing for sure about the new month. Does this make sense?

This will be our first time at Ohana and I am very excited about it! We ate at Mama Melrose a few years ago and enjoyed our meal there. I, too, have heard lots of good things about Boma and I would also like to try Chefs de France in the future.

So, The ADRs were made, now what?:confused3
I started to see commercials for GAD. I love the Muppets, so every time it came on TV, I'd stop and watch. We already had a package with tickets and had used a PIN that I received via e-mail. (First one ever!:cool1:)
I did a little research, here on the boards of course. I just don't understand how to do the free day. You have to not have tickets, then go and use your day, and then upgrade??? I don't get any of it. If you want to try to explain it to me, that would be fine.
However, then I heard about the FP. With 4 vouchers we can get FP for each of us over 4 days. WHY, that is one for each park for each of our 4 full days!!! Now I was excited!!!:woohoo::woohoo:
I registered on-line and then on Jan 1, the e-mail came that it was now time to sign-up. We checked out our area and at first there was nothing under an hour away. NO:sad2:. I kept checking back. DH and I had decided that we would volunteer as a family, and it had to be something that the girls could get something out of. I checked back later in Jan and found an event closer to home. It had to do with cleaning up at soccer fields. Then I read that your child has to be a registered player. I don't get this!!
Finally, I checked again and there was the Binky Patrol just 17 miles away!! YES!!! We could make the blankets at home and deliver them. My family agreed. I signed up, got confirmation, and completed the on-line process. I'm still afraid that I did that wrong. It seemed a little confusing. :confused3
Last week, I called the nice lady in charge. She told me that she needed blankets for teen girls. This got my girls into it because they got to pick out all of the material. So, off to Walmart to buy the fleece. They didn't have the greatest selection, but we did OK.
We have made 2 so far. Here are pics of DD 14 working on one.
http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu85/planningfanaticmom/Blankets11.jpg
http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu85/planningfanaticmom/Blankets24.jpg
We deliver them in 2 weeks. The girls also found out that they can use these service hours at school. :cool1: A double bonus.!!
I think Disney did a great thing here. My friend and her family are going about 40 minutes away to help organize a used book sale for the hospital. Great idea!!

This isnt GAD related, well it kind of is I guess. We are patients at our local Childrens hospital. My son has had 1 skull reconstruction, several CTs and a Bolt implantation for pressure check so far with another complete skull reconstruction waiting to be scheduled. MOST childrens hospitals have programs where other children 18 and under make pillow buddies for the smaller patients in the ICU. If you girls enjoy this GAD then they may want to look into doing similar things at local hospitals. My son has gotten pillow buddies each time he has been admitted into the ICU and at 3 years old now he loves them. The child who makes them gets to sign or initial them to make it more personal. We write the date and the procedure down on the toosh of each buddy so AJ knows which time he got each one. I know that the hospital we use locally has children make them in their free time as well as some of the schools use these as projects for the children to do. Again, if this is something that your girls have fun doing this is just a way to keep doing it again and again!

Today we are finishing our last blanket. I will try to remember to post a picture of the last one.
Now, the surveys!
Each year I create a survey for the family. I have one for each park. There is a list of all of the attractions and 3 choices for each one.
1. Must Do (These are limited to 5 or 7 depending on the park)
2. Only if there is time
3. No, thanks
Each family member gets their own survey. They answer honestly.
Here's how I do the plan. If any one person marks an attraction as a "Must DO," then we all must do it. (This is why I have to go on STITCH each year:scared1:)
If 3 or more people mark it as "Only if there is time" it gets put in the touring plans.
Normally we don't complete the surveys until April or so, but with all of the snow days this winter, my 14 year old begged to complete them sooner. Now she is after me to see the touring plans. I am nowhere near starting those.
The results in the next post.

Soarin' is a must for us too. Funny story, We went in Sept of 2008. It was a decent group of us, Me, DH, DD, DS and Grama, Grampa, DH's sister and her boyfriend. Now its a joke to all of my inlaws because Im only 4'11"! So, we get on Soarin and guess what.............I was BELOW the line!!!!!! I had to wear the kiddie belt! My wonderful Sister in-law decided that the best thing to do at that moment in my life was to take a picture for posterity! There hasn't been a day thats gone by that I havent gotten a Yoda remark or someone askin if I need to wear the Soarin kiddie belt! These people drive me crazy!~:scared1:

Our favorite one is when my husband lost his inner tube on a water ride. He came out of the tube at the bottom w/o his inner tube. The look on his face was priceless. The guy behind him had to bring the inner tube with him. It was so funny.:rotfl2:

Our high school experience has been positive so far. I hope yours is too. I have never been to WDW in Dec. I would love to go then. Maybe after retirement. I have a friend who goes in Dec. every year and loves it.

We're staying at Old Key West. If you stop by my PTR you can get the details. We've never been there before, but we're renting points from a DVC owner so the Studio ended up being around $100 a night and we couldn't beat that. And you should definitely keep your Boma ressie. For the Jungle Juice alone. I love that stuff! Because it's a buffet there are tons of choices some more adventurous than others. My kids just like the standard food choices, and they found plenty of choices there. I'm pretty sure you won't leave hungry and who knows. Maybe you'll find something new to love:goodvibes

I did check our your PTR and posted. My DH and I stayed at OKW before it was OKW on our honeymoon. If I have this right, it used to be called WDW Villas. I'm sure it has changed quite a bit.
Someday I'm going to get brave and investigate how to rent points from DVC members.

I have decided that I am totally spoiled by the on-line ADR system. When you had to call, I would decide on my ADRs, make them, and never change them. Now that I can go on and look around, I have found myself making changes.
Here is what happened today.
I have been reading a lot of threads about using the GAD FP. The general consensus is that you don't need one for AK. I was talking to DH about it, and he came up with the idea of using one at AK but not rushing to get to rope drop. He thought we could do a nice breakfast that morning and head to AK before 11:00.
We had originally planned on O'Hana's breakfast on the morning that we leave, but DD17 was not thrilled with the menu. So, I started to research. We all agreed the choices at the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Faire are more up our alley. So, I booked that breakfast for 8:15 on the morning of Sunday, June 20. Then we will go to AK. We have dinner that night at Boma. Canceled the O'hana's breakfast on Tues.
I'm very please with this decision. I know that if I hadn't been able to just sit down and research at the computer and see if anything was available, I never would have made the change.

I know what you mean about the online ADRs. I have changed mine countless times. (I think I only have 2 originals that I booked at my 180 mark). I think the 1900 Park Fare breakfast sounds fun. They have a great character line up:goodvibes

Well I guess it is about time to start planning each day. :thumbsup2
Our first day is actually the day before we get to WDW. We will leave on June 16 and head to Washington DC. Our flight leaves from Reagan National the next morning, so we thought we would go down the day before and do some sightseeing.
If you read my TR from last year, you will know we spent the day at Mt. Vernon. We had a very nice time.
http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/uu85/planningfanaticmom/MtVernon.jpg
Although we live about 2 hours from DC, we rarely go there. I know sad.:confused3
So, we have to decide what to do. We were hoping for a WNBA game, but there isn't one. We've done the whole Smithsonian thing tons of times. The girls have done it even more than that because of school trips.
We thought about the National Geographic Museum. But we aren't sure.
Maybe the zoo??
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
That evening we will spend the night at a hotel near the airport.
UP next: Day 2

DC is great. We are about 3 hours away and never go though. The 3 hour drive can easily take 9 hours for us!!! It is gorgeous this time of year though with the Cherry Blossoms blooming. We are planning an overnight trip for this summer to do the Zoo and then head toward Baltimore for the Aquarium. We also have to stop by the Poe memorial....I am a Poe FREAK! I even have a Raven tattoo on my neck with my kids birthdays on it. I have been reading Poe to them since they were born. My 8 year olds favorite thing to read is the tell tale heart!!!
We took DD to the Holocaust Museum the last time we went up there. She enjoyed learning about it. I enjoy wandering around DC and looking guilty. Or playing the "Count the sniper" game at the White House gates. We have always found it captivating how much security is in DC. I hope that you don't run into traffic on your drive. It can be crazy!

Thank you for the advice. The Poe Memorial idea is a good one. Both DH and DD17 would really like that. We could stop in Baltimore first before heading to DC. Maybe even grab lunch at the Inner Harbor.:hippie:
I know traffic is always an issue in DC. DH would still rather deal with the traffic then drive all the way to FL.

I could see how the Online dining reservation system would be addictive--I used to get a general idea of how dates were looking a few weeks before them. Alas, I cannot make changes via the system because our party size is too large! Which is probably a good thing. ;)
Have you visited the actual monuments? The Jefferson Memorial is a particular favorite, the Vietnam War Memorial is another one that gives me goosebumps. I like those type of things! OK so, back to day one. I am pretty sure we have decided to not do any sightseeing in DC. I think we are going to take our time to get ready and finish packing at home. Then in the late afternoon, drive to MD to eat dinner. We should be able to then miss rush hour in DC on the way to the hotel.
Why?? Well it will be cheaper this way and also, we won't have spent a whole day walking in the heat before getting to "The Happiest Place on Earth".
Now, My DH is not exactly a man who can sit around once we are ready. I, of course, will have everything packed by 10:00am. So, it will surprise me if we actually wait until the afternoon to leave. The girls will be itching to go early. We'll see:confused3

OK, so after not touring Washington DC, we will find a hotel to sleep near Reagan International.
Everyone I talk to has a suggestion about parking. About 50% of the people think we should find a hotel that will let you keep your car there and take you to the airport. The other 50% tell us to drive to the airport. DH is leaning towards parking at the airport. His reason? He does not want to rely on a hotel shuttle to take us back to our car once we get back from FL. He wants to get on the road ASAP.
Anyway, no matter what we decide, we will wake up and head to the airport. I would like to go through check-in and security, then find something to eat while waiting for our flight. DH doesn't know this yet.
Once arriving in Orlando, we will find ME and head to CSR. We used ME in 2006, and it was a breeze. Here's to hoping.:thumbsup2
If the world were perfect, our room will be ready. We will go and freshen up and apply sunscreen before heading to Epcot. Of course, I am not expecting this. I'm assuming we will have to check our carry-ons with luggage services and put on sunscreen in the bathroom.
BTW: Can I carry sunscreen on the plane??
We will head to EPCOT as soon as we are ready.
I don't know where lunch will be. Airport?? CSR?? Epcot??
Once we have arrived at Epcot, we will head to WS. We are going to WS first this trip because we don't usually give this the time that it deserves. It is usually too hot, or we are too tired to go slow. This is be the first time that we go first thing. We will follow the non-touring plan that I have created. We will, of course, tour countries as we go.
(I'm sure if the line at SE is short, we will jump on real quick!!)
June 17: EPCOT: Evening EMH
World Showcase:
· Kim Possible Adventure
· Maelstrom: Must do
· Gran Fiesta Tour: If time
· The American Adventure
· Impressions de France
· Street Performers: See Times Guide
· Dinner: 6:00 pm: Chefs de France:
· Illuminations: 9:00
Best places: International Gateway Island
Second floor deck of the Mitsukoshi Building in Japan
Gondola Landing in Italy
The boat dock opposite Germany
Lagoon side walkway between Germany and China
If anyone has a better spot to view Illuminations, please let me know. We have never seen it. I know I will have to be aware of wind direction.
It is an evening EMH that day. I have no plan for after Illuminations. We may head back to CSR right away or not. We are playing it by ear. :yay:

You can take sunscreen on the plane if it is less than 3 ounces. You can find it in the travel size section at Walmart or Target for about $1. NO problem!
The last time we arrived at POR it was before noon and our room was ready...so don't count that out! :thumbsup2
We watched Illuminations from the boat dock opposite the German pavilion. It was a great spot! Plus..you can get a giant pretzel to enjoy while you wait! ;)
World Showcase is amazing! I'm so glad you are taking the time to enjoy it this trip! :)

Sounds good! I also think CS in WS, there is a lot to choose from.
As for illuminations, the best tip I have is to ask a CM. We asked a couple, and got a couple of great suggestions for more hidden spots. Ended up on a bench in Japan. There was a huge storm brewing, and the huge store in Japan makes for a great place to hide! We were fine, never rained, lots of wind, but we found out a tornado touched down at the Orlando mall just outside of WDW! :scared1:

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure my family can wait that long for lunch. Also our dinner is at 6:00, so we can't eat lunch too late. Maybe a snack instead of a lunch!

I'm so sorry that I have been so negligent lately. We have had 2 college visits and a college fair in the last 2 weeks. Now I am getting ready to take my DDs and my MIL to NYC on Saturday. We have tickets for Wicked. (We've had them since Dec.) It is a bus trip, so I have to think of something to do before the show. The weather is supposed to be nice.
I just don't know what to do. We aren't shoppers. Maybe Central Park. I have never been there. I just don't know.:confused3
Also, I keep going around and around about how to do a touring plan with the FP for GAD. But maybe my problem is we don't need a plan. Maybe because of the FP, we can do what we want when we want to. I will give this some thought. Any thoughts??
I promise not to be so scarce from now on. Thank you to my readers.

Wicked was amazing. My DDs loved it. We did end up walking a little of Central Park. I also go to go to FAO Schwartz for the first time in my life.

Central Park was great. The weather was amazing. We ended up having delicious pizza near Central Park.
Little Wicked story. My BIL is a musician and has 2 friends that are in the show. These very nice gentlemen gave us a little back stage tour. We got to stand on the stage and see the props. The girls were most impressed with Elphaba's broom and Glinda's wand. It is something they will never forget. One of our tour guides actually played Fiyero that day. (He is the understudy)
If you have never seen this show, it is worth the trip to NYC to see it.:cloud9:

Ok, so I made a general plan for DHS using the GAD FP. I'm not sure this will be necessary, but I thought I would have it in case we need it.
This will be the first day of using our GAD vouchers. :cool1:
RFP= regular FP
GFP= GAD FP
June 18: DHS: EMH 8:00-8:00
· Go get RFP for TSM: Mom
· Ride ToT: H, H, & C
· Ride RNRC: All
· Ride The Great Movie Ride
· Get RFP for ToT (if window is open)
· Use RFP to ride TSM
· Use GFP to see The Voyage of the Little Mermaid
· Ride Backlot Tour: if time
· Use GFP to see Lights, Motor, Action: if necessary
· See Muppets 3-D
· Use GFP to ride Star Tours
· See Indiana Jones
· Use RFP for ToT
· Use GFP to ride RNRC
· See The Magic of Disney Animation
· Use GFP for ToT
· Use GFP for RnRC
· See Beauty and the Beast: if time
· Use any GFP that we have left
Lunch: CS: Backlot Express???
Dinner: Mama Melrose: 6:00
If all goes well, the girls should ride ToT of 3 times, and the whole family will ride RnRC 3 times.:banana:
I'm pretty sure we will try to take a break at CSR this day sometime in the afternoon.
We've never really eaten CS at DHS. I think that Backlot Express might work well for us. If you have any other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. DH does not like eating outside. I hope we can find a covered table somewhere.
Well, what do you think???

Hello All,
Before I get to the plans for the MK, I wanted to tell you that I accidentally left out American Idol while we are at DHS. I didn't even notice. My DD did!! DH is still not sold on going, but I think we will be able to talk him into it.;)
Now onto Day 3: MK
Here is how it looks so far.
June 19: MK: 9:00-11:00
· Ride Space Mountain
· Get RFP for Space Mountain
· Ride Buzz Lightyear
· Ride Winnie the Pooh
· Ride Peter Pan (Use GFP if necessary)
· Ride the Haunted Mansion
· Ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Get RFP is necessary)
· Ride Pirates of the Caribbean
· Ride Jungle Cruise (Use GFP if necessary)
· See Enchanted Tiki Room
· Ride Liberty Belle Riverboat (if time)
· See The Hall of Presidents
· Go to Tom Sawyer's Island (if time)
· See Mickey's Philharmagic
· Ride Space Mountain using RFP
· See Monster's Inc.
· See Stitch's Great Escape using GFP
· Ride Transit Authority
· See The Carousel of Progress
· Use GFP to ride Buzz Lightyear
· Use GFP to ride SM and/or BTMTR
· Fireworks: 10:00
Lunch: Columbia Harbor House or Cosmic Rays (Depends what side of the park we are on)
Dinner: O'Hana's: 6:25
In our house, we ride the teacups and the carousel only if there are no lines. Sometimes this happens. Also, we don't do Snow White, Country Bear, or IASW. These are just not our cup of tea.
We have eaten at O'Hana's before and really liked it. Can't wait. DH loved the turkey. Last time we ate behind the grill. I hope we get in the main part of the dining room this time.
We are looking forward to seeing the new fireworks. :woohoo::woohoo: We probably won't watch either parade.
I don't foresee us taking a break on this day. I have scheduled MK for one day, but I am 95% sure that we will choose MK for departure day. We are keeping that day open. We want to wait and see what we are in the mood for.
Well, let me know if you think I forgot something. My count down days are in the 30s!!:cool1::cool1:
I'm hoping to see some Mickey Mail real soon!!:yay::yay:

Now I'm worried that it might be too much. We know the park very well and can move quickly when we have too. Although I always stop when a character pops up. We don't wait for pics all of the time, but can't help to be mesmerized by their interactions with guests. Also, we are not shoppers. No need to stop there.
My plan comes from the UG. It is the one day plan for adults. So, you will notice much of Fantasyland is missing except for our favs.

I need to work on more touring plans.
I have been trying to figure out what to pack. I've been working on the lists. The carry-on bags have been on my mind. I don't know why? I don't pack until the day before, but this time I am limited in space. I seem to be obsessing more. OK, So the Touring Plans are finally done!!:cool1:
Day 4 is Animal Kingdom Day!!
There are only 4 things there that we must do: EE, Dinosaur, Flights of Wonder, and FOTLK. With our GAD FP, this should be fairly easy. DH and I were talking about it, and because it was Father's Day this day, he wanted to have breakfast somewhere nice. We chose the Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious breakfast at GF. This is a first for us. We have never had a character breakfast before. We were always afraid that it would put us behind the crowds at the parks. Well, we are going to give it a try.
Upon arriving at AK we will follow the following the plan;
· Use GFP to ride EE (get RFP if possible)
· Ride Primeval Whirl (if line is not too long)
· Use GFP to ride Dinosaur
· See Flights of Wonder
· Walk the Maharaja Jungle Trek
· Use GFP to ride KS
· Ride to Rafiki's Planet Watch
· Walk the Pangani Trail
· See FOTLK
· See ITTBAB (if time)
· Use GFP/RFP to ride EE and Dinosaur
· Lunch: Flame Tree BBQ or Pizzafari
· Dinner: BOMA:
This one is absolutely doable. We also want to take a break at CSR before going to BOMA for dinner.
We are thinking of taking a cab to AKL from CSR. Maybe going to DTD after dinner.
Then Day 5 is Epcot. Hopefully we did everything we wanted to do in WS on Day 1, so that should leave us with FW except for dinner and KP adventure.
Here is the touring plan:
· Ride Soarin' (Get RFP)
· Ride Test Track (Use GFP if necessary)
· Ride Mission Space (Use GFP if necessary)
· Ride Livin' with the Land (Use GFP if necessary)
· Use RFP to ride Soarin'
· Ride Nemo and Friends/Explore The Seas
· See Turtle Talk with Crush (if time)
· Ride Journey into Imagination
· See Circle of Life (if time)
· Use GFP to ride Soarin'
· Get ticket for KP Adventure
· Ride Spaceship Earth
· Ride Ellen's Energy Adventure
· Use any GFP left over at this time
· Complete KP adventure when time
· Check out anything in WS that was missed on Thurs.
· Lunch: Electric Umbrella or Sunshine Seasons
· Dinner: Le Cellier:
Yes, We got the coveted ADR for Le Cellier!!!:dance3: My DD has wanted to go here for a long time. She loves steak!!
Not sure if we will get time for a break here because of the KP adventure. MY DDs are 14 and 17 and still want to do this. :confused3They did it last year and loved it. However, we are going to try our hardest to get each of them their own Kimmunicator. I don't get the attraction, but I just look around whatever country we are in at the time. I'm OK with that.
Well, what do you think?? As busy as Day 2 and 3 are, I think these look much calmer.
OT: The local theater is showing Raiders of the Lost Ark on the big screen tomorrow. I think we are going!!!! This is one of my favorite all-time movies.

I read her on the Disboards :cool1: that touringplans.com had changed their predictions for June in a good way. I had checked last week and they were at "8" for when we were there. Now they are 5,6, & 7. I have never been to Disney in June when the prediction was a "5".
Why does this happen?? How reliable is it? Will it change again??
I know these are not important questions, but just curious.

We have always used them and liked them. In 2006, we followed it faithfully. My family gave me such a hard time before that trip. They thought I was crazy to have a plan. Then after our first day using the plan, they couldn't stop talking about how great it was.
Since then I use it as a guide, but we are not as strict with it. We are a lot more flexible with our days.
It still helps to have a plan. I give the destination, and DH gets us there. It helps that he doesn't need a map anymore. My girls trust me, and I make sure they get to do all their favorites. (Sometimes several times in one day!:thumbsup2) We totally avoid the standing around deciding what to do. (We kind of giggle a little at the families gathered around a map arguing about what to do next.:rotfl2:)
I always advise any family that is going for the first time to use a plan. Especially if they want to see everything.
Are you thinking about trying it?? I have never used Ridemax or Tour Guide Mike. I can not compare UG touring plans to these plans. Sorry!!

That could be it. After the heat wave last year, it was hard to book another trip in June. However, this is the only time we can go, so we decided to hope for the best. Maybe the heat is keeping others away.
Here's hoping it is accurate.
Got some more Mickey mail today. This time it was our plastic luggage tags and vouchers. (That we don't ever use:confused3)

Thanks for answering my questions about the TP. I am planning on using one of them as a guideline. Take off what we won't ride, send the thrill seekers ahead to ride their rides so they don't have to wait, etc. I have no desire to be one of those families, especially with as many people in tow with us. :rotfl: DH has another opinion, that DD should dictate where we go. :scared1: I don't think so (only because she is turning 4).

I just joined TGM after I got a discount code. It is interesting so far. I have not gotten to the point of looking at their plan versus TP yet but I will be curious to know if there is a difference. :thumbsup2
I'll follow your TR to see what the difference is. Maybe I can learn something new.:thumbsup2
:thumbsup2 YAY! Yay, for Mickey Mail!!! You know you're close now! :thumbsup2
I can't believe that 3 weeks from today, we will heading to DC for the flight.:cloud9:

Hello all,
I haven't posted in awhile because it is May in a house with 2 teachers and 2 teenagers. We are so busy!!:scared1: Banquets, Award Ceremonies, IEP Meetings, Finals to study for and to grade, Variety show practices, Staff picnic to plan, and Last week activities to prepare for. The girls and I have 8 days of school left. DH has 3. Wait until he sees his "Honey do list" when he is finished a week ahead of us. :lmao:
This weekend I would like to tweak the packing list. My list is still written for when we drive to WDW. I need to cut back for our flights. I'm hoping to get everything into 1 carry-on and 2 checked bags. I'm sure I will. I'm not opposed to doing a couple loads of laundry while we are there. Maybe if I get this done before the grocery shopping trip, I'll buy some of the things we need. I love this part!!:cool1: Then it feels like we are almost there.
Well, that's it for now.
Have a safe and happy weekend!!:cutie:

Yep, I have to have a list. I even have a list of all of the things that still needs to get done. DH grabs the tiny camera. I'll make sure he doesn't leave it home like someone else we all know. :lmao:

Well, something else checked off the list. :worship:
DH made the hotel reservation for the one night before we fly to FL. We will drive about 2 hours to DC and then fly out the next morning. DH found a "Sleep and Fly" deal. Our car can stay at the hotel, and a shuttle bus will take us to the airport. Then we'll find the shuttle bus when we arrive back in DC after our trip. If we have trouble getting the shuttle on the way home, we can take a cab because the hotel is only 2 miles from the airport.
I am so happy this is done.
6 more days of school; 15 days until WDW:yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:

2 more things off the list.
1. Downloaded the Verizon app for the parks. :goodvibes
2. Cut my hair kind of short. About 5 inches shorter. Should be cooler.:cool1:
I can check-in on line any time now. I think I will make it my reward for when school is over. 3 more days of school with students. 3 days of school without students.
10 Days to go!!:cloud9:

I was very nervous about this resort at first. It's either people love it or hate it. DH insisted on Queen beds and this was the cheapest way to go. I'm a little worried about the Pepper Market, but except for breakfast, I don't think we will be there very often.
Not sure about the TR yet. We'll have to see how the trip goes.
Thanks for reading.

Today was the last day with students. The variety shows went off without a hitch.
I still have 3 more work days then we go to WDW!!!:cloud9:
Won't start packing until Tuesday. Maybe I'll get the suitcases out this weekend and set them in the living room just so we can see them. I know that's weird, but I might do it anyway.:rotfl:

Little Update!!
We collected our change in a big jar over the year. We turned it in today and had over $300.00. This will cover our breakfast with Mary Poppins that is not on the dining plan!! Plus some souvenirs for the girls.:dance3:
Also, I finished writing curriculum today, so my vacation has officially started!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
In 48 hours we will be eating in France!!:cloud9:

We really liked it. DH wished we had been a little closer to El Centro. I didn't mind it though. The CM were wonderful. We really liked the gift shop. They had everything we needed. If you are into pin trading, they have a pin book to trade.
We were in the Casitas section. I didn't really get to see the rest of the resort because we were at the parks most of the time or it was raining.
The room was the best that we've ever stayed in on Disney property. We liked WL as a resort a little better because it isn't as large and when you walk, you stay inside all of the time. We wished that we could put the CSR room inside the WL. The beds are super comfy!!
I'm sure you will have a great time at CSR. The buses are great if you use them.
Let me know if you have any specific questions. There is also a great CSR thread over on the resorts thread.
