is there any way around enrolling kids in the next age group of the kids club. (our son is nearly 11 and we think the club that he should go in will not be to his liking!) Do we enrol the kids in ourselves and would there be any way of altering their age?

I just saw a video from disney saying no matter what age they are they can now choose what they want to do. I guess it was an issue that siblings aren't in the same club together so now they can be. I cant remember where I saw the video.

There is no way to alter his age, because they know his age from the information that you have to provide the ship before you sail.

Do you think he'd rather go up or down in the club? Down might be a little easier than up unless he is very close to the next age group.

When you get on board, talk to the CMs in the Kid's clubs and they can assess the situation and allow your son to move up if he wants. In the meantime, just register him online into the club for his age. As previously mentioned, kids can now go to whatever activities they want, regardless of age.

The standard rule is that a child within 30 days of their next birthday can move up--no questions asked. Kids more than 30 days from the birthday can move up with permission of the CMs.

The above posts are correct that kids can now participate in whichever activities they choose--it is not by age. However, my understanding is that this applies to the Oceaneer's Club and Oceaneer's Lab groups only, not the Ocean Quest or teen groups.

what about moving down? MY DS will be newly 13, but I'm thinking he may still want to be in the club with his younger sister?

We'll have the same situation this summer. My DD will be 1 month after her 13 b-day but would probably be much happier in the lower age group with her brother. If she has to go to the teen area she'll be too shy for going on her own and probably stay with us the whole time. Any ideas?

Moving DOWN is almost never a problem. You do it by talking to the CM.

The only thing is that the kids can't jump back and forth, in and out of the teen group. THey have to make a decision to be in The Stack or Ocean Quest, not both....I have no personal experience with it on the Wonder, but I suspect it's the same between Aloft (teens) and Out and About (the tween program).
