Half Board Options - DLP

Hi all,

Hoping you might be able to help or certainly give me some opinions on the half board option for DLP. Sorry if I am asking questions that have already been covered.

We are hoping to book our accommodation over the next few days for 2 ad & 2 ch (aged 11 & 6) & I am totally confused about the HB options. We don't eat a huge amount during the day but we all like to tuck in to a nice meal (starter & main course) at night. Some options are Cafe Mickey, Rainforest, Buffalo Bills. We are staying for 4 nights & we are being quoted a price of €326 for Newport Bay or Hotel New York. Have checked out some of the menus of the various restaurants & they are certainly not cheap.

In your experience, are the HB vouchers good value? I presume I don't have to decide on this option when I am booking our hotel.

Firstly, wait until 1st March when the 40% offer comes live.
Rainforest Cafe is not covered by the HB vouchers so if you definitely want to go there that may affect your decision.
The HB vouchers are definitely not the bargain they were, but if you don't qualify for annual pass or shareholder discount they may still be cheaper than the expensive options like Buffalo Bills. If you were buying Premium vouchers they would cover Buffalo Bills and also the character buffet at Inventions and a set meal (starter, main, dessert and coffee I think) in the California Grill, both at the Disneyland Hotel. The vouchers also have the advantage of enabling you to know most of your budget beforehand. You don't have to add them to your booking until a week or so before you go.

Hi,will the 40% off be out on every website on the 1st of march? i live in Ireland and its not out yet but it is on the disneyland page in the netherlands.

The 40% is meant to be available from March 1st so I presume it wil be available on-line from Monday.

In the buffet restaurants, if the voucher covers those restaurants it covers the whole buffet (and sometimes a soft drink too). In the table service restaurants, there will be a set menu with 2 or 3 choices, which is fully covered by the vouchers. If you don't wish to choose that you can use them at face value and pay the extra.

Hi - I am very sorry to hijack your thread but that is so cheap for 4 nights!?!? where did you find that offer!! I am being quoted £650 at the moment (740EUro ish?) for 4 nights at sequoia...that is so cheap !

Unfortunately, this price does not include hotel or park tickets. I wish it did!!!

For our 4 night / 5 day trip in early May the website quotes £160 for Half Board which is £32 / day - that seems quite cheap for the 3 of us for 5 days. In all the time this half board scheme has been going on I've never looked into it - what restaurants does it cover?

Hi Steve - if you check out the dlp brochure, you can download from disneylandparis.co.uk - it lists all the restaurants you can eat in for the type of voucher you choose.

We used them last year, and I liked it mainly because I new everything was paid for, and I wasn't stressing about how much money i'd need each day to cover our meals.

I also had fun checking out all the reviews on the stickys - most people who have reviewed had put pics of their meals - i found the really useful.

The cost may be slightly higher overall - but I like the convenience of them and had planned our meals, which saved loads of time instead of wandering around when you're exhausted looking for somewhere to eat. :thumbsup2

You will only get 8 adult half board vouchers for that Steve - you get one voucher per person booked (except infants) per night booked at an onsite hotel.

Under 3's eat free at buffet meals, but otherwise you have to pay for them (or they can share your meal of course).

I've just got the New Generation brochure from my travel agent, and thankfully they've put the full description of which restaurants participate etc, back in the brochure :).

You'll get 3 vouchers per person in your party - but those vouchers can be used over the 4 days that you are there.
