Hi all! If you did the Discover Atlantis excursion ONLY (not the water park excursion - we'll save that for when the kids are older :thumbsup2), what time did you depart ship, and in addition, is there any flexibility on when you can head back? The disney web site says 2-4 hours, so can I assume that you don't have to wait for only ONE bus departure time back to the ship? Just trying to determine if we're better off taking a taxi and having flexibility to come and go as we choose. Thanks for any info you have! :goodvibes

We met at wavebands and signed in and got our wristbands. Then everyone left in a group together, they had multiple buses outside that would leave when full. We ended up at the back of the line and had to wait about 15 minutes once outside before we made it on a bus. They drive around and show you a few buildings on the way to Atlantis. (the hospital, governor's house, Queen's staircase, water tower). Once there you follow the tour guide (we didn't; with our 1 year old it was nicer for us to go at our own pace). The buses pick up where you were dropped off (by the shops) every 30 minutes. HTH.

Thanks Homemom, this helps a lot. With the wristbands, were you able to see parts of the resort that you wouldn't have seen without them? What all were you able to see?

Basically the tour (the hotel part anyway)starts when you get off the busses at the front of the hotel, with a guide. It takes you thru the lobby, the casino, then into the aquarium area talking abut the history of the hotel, aquarium etc.The lobby and the casino are open to the public, but the aquarium is only open to those that are staying at the resort, or have purchased the tour.At the end, you can come back to the ship at your leisure, and if Im not mistaken the last bus to the ship is around 4-430 pm.There is not set time other than the last bus which they will tell you in order to come back.
