So I am just wondering how many of you fellow Cdns have rented DVC points before and if you rented from another Cdn or somewhere else?
We are booked at POP this fall and I thought of surprising my DH w/ a split stay at AKV at the end of our trip.
Any thoughts? Any advice? Any place you recommend renting your points from? I have been checking out the DVC thread but I thought I'd look for some local experience.
Thanks!:thumbsup2

The only thing I can recommend might be ovbious. It might be easier to rent from a Canadian DVC'er in Cdn funds, and make sure you find someone with some good references!..

Hi,
Send me a private message. I have points that I could rent out. I never have before but maybe i could try. I have rented points from someone before. He was in England. It was a simple, flawless transaction. If you do rent you can make sure the person can rent out the points. The Orange county controllers office shows the documents complete with signatures. It is very interesting. I found the guy I rented from on these boards.

Friends of ours rented off someone on Kijiji before. They booked via a conference call with Disney.

Do you know the website that has that info. I saw it once where you type the persons name and it shows you where the person owns points etc.

It sure does. She found someone on there advertising their points at AK (I think) & contacted them, then that person & her called Disney via a 3 way call & booked. She said she felt better being on the phone while the booking was made so she knew it was valid.

We haven't rented but do own. We would consider renting for this year as a possibility.

If you do end up deciding to rent, let me know. I am waiting to rent points until/if FD is announced as we will be doing a split stay at POP. (And yes I know DVC cannot get FD). We just want to be sure of the dates.
We would be looking for 65 points.

Hi,
I've rented points from DVC members 2 times. Both transactions went very smoothly. I read the tips on the Dis board re: renting and also steer away renters with only a couple posts. ( that's just me :confused3)

However I would love to find a Canadian to rent from! :worship:
