two things.............it seems boring this year.......and...............Ellen was a very poor addition to the show IMHO..........she is just out of place and it borders on just plain weird.

i would agree. I think this show should have been cancelled a few years ago actually. The winners are practically forgotten by the start of the next season, the first few winners and runner ups actually had some marketable talent, but i think that well has run dry, the show is just tired now...

2 hours for 12 singers is just so long, the judges talk to much, Ellen adds nothing..... I pause my TV then fast forward through most of the chatter....

I still watch it because I adore Simon :lovestruc But this his last season so we'll see what happens ...

I for one am thrilled that Ellen replaced Paula for 2 reasons...

1. non-music person's perspective, which gives it an interesting balance
2. Paula rambled on often and it got old very fast for me before

It always feels like it starts out slow for me until i pick a few favorites - then I get into it more

Oh, good... I thought it was me.

Last night was the first night I sat down to really WATCH the show, (as opposed to having it on in the background) and I was surprised that among the 12 male contestants there wasn't a one of them that was much better than "just OK".

It's hard to believe that out of the thousands that auditioned they were the best of the bunch.

Time will tell, I suppose. :confused3

I agree. I didn't really see anyone that stood out. I'm also not sure why Simon thinks this is the girl's year, as I didn't think any of them did particularly well. Hopefully they will start to do better soon.
