...you try talking to someone, and they never respond to a thing you say?

or when you're talking to your mother on the phone and she's doing a crossword puzzle the whole time you're talking, she's interrupting you with, "What's a six letter word for..." or she's watching Jeopardy and playing along answering the questions while you're trying to have a conversation. Maybe I'm boring???

I HATE that.. like when i send a PM to someone and they don't write back for like a week, but then i see him/her online hehe this is how i feel after that
Or AIMs, when they dont respond, or logg off right after i say hi or ask then a question
*hmm i hope they aren't trying to send me this vibe or hidden clue or something*

I had a BF who was really bad at that. I would ask a question... dead air. So then I would get mad like he was doing it just to infuriate me! His excuse... I was thinking of an answer. How many times did I have to explain that in normal communication, there is a certain time span that is acceptable to wait. If you need longer, you need to say something to that effect... a "hmmm," something! I think it's a communication disorder, like people who don't have a concept of personal space

The first time I noticed this was when I was about 7 visiting my great-great uncle. I was yakking away at him, he was just sitting there looking at me, not saying a word. My mother told me later that he had turned off his hearing aid just before we arrived.

So annoying! At least they can pretend like they are listening and nod their head (if they aren't going to respond). Or at least send a PM or email explaining that they are busy/held up/swamped and will get back to me later.
epcotfan: Thanks for bringing up that song... I did "Chicago" my freshman year at SFASU.... lovely memories.

LOL... It happens a few times when I talk to my best friend. Just so tired of just saying something and I hear no acknowledgement of what I've said. Shessh.... But I have to admit I'm sometimes like that with my mom.... ;) :)

Oh I don't know-I live with a bunch of men (DH, 2DS's and the dog) and every last one of them will stand there and look at me while I talk and then have no idea what I said-that annoys the heck out of me
