View Full Version : When's Mickey in sailor outfit?

On our last cruise, when we were in Shutters, I saw pics of people taken with Mickey and Minnie dressed in sailor outfits. The Shutters people said they only wear sailor attire the first day. Anyone know what time? I'm trying to figure out if the kids should wear their sailor stuff to the show and then late dining and hopefully be able to catch Mickey for pics in between one of those? Where can I find out the times Mickey and crew will be in the sailor stuff for pics in advance? Is it just luck? Should we plan on boarding the ship in the kids' sailor outfits???
I've been planning this particular shot for some time now, hope they're still doing it. And yea, I really am that nuts!

I hope I'm not gonna get flamed for spilling some DCL "secret" or anything... as far as I know, it's OK to share this....
On our last two cruises (on the Wonder), we went to Parrot Cay for lunch, instead of deck 9. Captain Mickey shows up between 12:30 and 1pm, and makes a round of the restaurant to take pictures. Not sure if he does this *every* cruise, but it seems like a regular thing to us.
One thing I'm not sure about is (is this a secret?) - getting into Parrot Cay. Sometimes they'll tell you the restaurant is "full" and direct you up to deck 9. We learned that you can ask to wait... which we did, last time, for about 15 minutes. We're not sure if they'll do this for *everyone*, or if they just did it for us because we (DH, DW, DS8) were wearing matching Disney outfits and were certainly the cutest family on the ship ;)
Anyway, long story short -- on boarding day, have lunch in Parrot Cay, Captain Mickey is sure to stop by. Good luck!

If you want the nice background Salior Mickey will be on deck 4 (i think) top of the stairs maybe around 5:15 or so before the early show starts. We got one on the first night about that time. You can call the character hotline when you get onboard and ask them the exact times. But I would say yes to wearing the sailor outfits to the early show, but be sure to walk arouns when the characters are out before the show and dinner and find mickey if you don't call and get the exact time.

On the 2/14-2/18 Wonder cruise, Mickey and Minnie had nautical outfits on for the sea day.
Not a great picture, but it'll let you see the costumes:
Is Character call through guest services?

Characters are in their sailor outfits at the character breakfast on sea days for 7 or higher day cruises.

Here is the outfit he's in on the first night.
Here's one that he's in the last night.
The character hotline just call from your stateroom phone when you get in the room and ask them about sailor mickey.

We were on the 2/7 4-night Wonder and on our last night Mickey was in his outfit with the red shirt and dark blue or black pants with a captains hat. Minnie had her sailor outfit on as well. This was the only time we saw them in these outfits.

He appeared in the terminal in front of the ship model when I went December '08, but I don't know if that's regular.

Thanks everyone for your replies and advice! I knew of the pals line, but I didn't know if it was a recording or a live person that could answer specific questions.
Can't wait! Only four more nights! (My children count the time down in how many more nights they have to sleep!)
Here's to hoping it warms up a bit!
